What is WV-ASM200 series?
WV-ASM200 series is designed for integrated management, control, live image display and
playback of recorded images for multiple Panasonic network disk recorders* and digital disk
recorders.**
More efficient operation and management are possible by using an operation window, a
map window *** and a live window*** at a time when three monitors are used with a PC.

WV-ASM200 Series Major Features
(1) Multi-monitor function (Up to 3 monitors)*
The multi-monitor function using up to three PC monitors is available, and it enables surveillance
operation more efficient.
(2) Map window*
It is possible to display live images from a camera by clicking the respective camera’s icon on the map.
(3) Multi-screen Live window*
It is possible to display multi-screen live images to handle large bit rate** such as 1.5Mbps (VGA 30
ips) x 16 cameras for H.264, 2 Mbps (VGA 30 ips) x 16 cameras for MPEG-4.
(4) The number of registration of recorders
Up to 100 recorders can be registered.
(5) Camera / Encoder direct control and display
Cameras registered at a recorder can be viewed not only viewed via the recorder but also by direct
access to the cameras from ASM200.
(6) Other remarkable features
 Alarm notification by Panasonic alarm protocol.
 Up to 20 screens can be displayed for the operation window and the Live window.
 Operation using the system controller WV-CU950*

WV-ASM200 Series Major Features
(7) Supporting 16:9 Full HD, Wide monitor (New)
The display area of images can be set as 16:9 so that the 16:9 resolution images are displayed.
(8) Supporting the Internet mode (New)
The streams of the Internet mode (H.264/MPEG-4) from cameras and recorders are handled.
(9) Conversion of a n3r file to a standard format file. (New)
It is possible to convert a .n3r file to an mp4 file that is standard of Windows. The converted file can be
played back by QuickTime, Widows Media Player (Only Windows 7) and so on.
(10) Downloading recorded images of a camera’s SD card (New)
It is possible to download an H.264 file on a SD memory card of a camera to a PC.
(11) High-speed playback smooth mode (New)
Full frame playback is possible for STEP2 and STEP3 of high-speed playback.
(12) Loading WV-ASM100 series setup data
The setup data of WV-ASM100/100L can be loaded to WV-ASM200 for migration.

SD memory card operation
ASM200 can download H.264 videos (MP4) saved in SD/SDHC card of network cameras*. Viewer
Software such as QuickTime, WMP (Only Windows 7) can playback the downloaded data. The cameras
have to be registered by camera registration (not via a recorder) to use this function.

When displaying live view of the camera registered independently from a recorder, the following operation panel is shown at the

Search date and time when the images have motions from a recorder.
This is supported for WJ-ND400, WJ-NV200 and WJ-HD616/716.
To do this, VMD information addition has to be “ON” for i-Pro series
camera’s setup. (This is not applicable for WV-NP1000/NP1004 and BB/BL series cameras.)

Playback VMD search can be done only for the recorded images whose aspect ratio
is 4:3. When the images’ aspect ratio is 16:9, this can’t be used. The search result
always becomes no record for the 16:9 images.

Download recorded images
Downloading recorded images from a recorder to a PC is possible.
Using the download panel, downloading images is done.

Download recorded images
The name of the image file downloaded is decided as follows.
example : 01_070209121500_0515.n3r
(Ch number : 1, Starting date and time : February 9th, 2007, 12:15:00, Duration : 5 min 15 sec.)

Playback is done by Viewer software.
Viewer software
• Up to 64 cameras’ images can be downloaded at a time.
• When more than one camera channel are specified, download is
done for each camera.
• One recorder can be specified for download at a time.
• The maximum duration of downloaded images is 24 hours.
• The downloading duration is divided into every 10 minutes. So, the
downloaded file is divided into pieces every 10 minutes duration.
*When the aspect ratio of downloaded images is 16:9, playback images by the viewer software
are vertically distorted.

File conversion
A downloaded file of n3r format can be converted to a standardized mp4 file.
A converted mp4 file can be played back by QuickTime, Windows Media
Player, (Only under Windows 7) and so on.
There is no restriction for n3r files. Any format n3r files can be converted. Converted files’ formats become
H.264. Conversion time depends on the size of original images and the size of converted images.

Operations for images
EL-zoom, Saving still images and printing can be done.
• EL-zoom (1,2,4 times)
When right-clicking on the image display area, the pop-up menu will be
displayed. (*Selection from the displayed pop-up menu is available only
when right-clicking on a 1-screen.)
For example in the right figure, select EL zoom from x1, x2 or x4.
• Saving still images
Still images can be saved as JPEG format.
• Printing
Printing live images or recorded images is possible.
*When a still image is save or printed during EL-zoom, the zoomed image is saved or
printed. (Except for WJ-HD316A and WJ-HD309A)

There are roughly two types of logs. One is an application log and the other
is a recorder log. The recorder log is made by a recorder.
•Application log
The application log records alarm information taken from recorders, device
error information and system information of this software. The application log
has the following log types.
Alarm log, Device error log, Network error log, System log and Operation log.
•Recorder log
The recorder log records errors and events that occur in the recorders. The
recorder log is made by a recorder. It is possible to download the recorder
logs filed in each recorder and display/save them.
