This product is 100% inspected and tested in the
United States to verify HDMI performance parameters.
WARNING
1. Do not expose this unit to water, moisture, or excessive humidity.
2. Do not install or place this unit in a built-in cabinet, or other confined space without adequate ventilation.
3. To prevent risk of electrical shock or fire hazard, due to overheating do not obstruct unit’s ventilation openings.
4. Do not install near any source of heat, including other units that may produce heat.
5. Do not place unit near flames.
6. Only clean unit with a dry cloth.
7. Unplug unit during lightening storms or when not used for an extended period of time. A surge protector is strongly recommended.
8. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at the plugs.
9. Use unit only with accessories specified by the manufacturer.
10. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
CAUTION
HDMI is a very complex technology requiring continuous authentication of the signal and the same video resolution and audio settings on all electronic equipment in the system. When there are multiple sources and displays, the video resolution and audio setting on all connected units must be adjusted to correspond with that of the display having the lowest video and audio capability.

FEATURES
INTRODUCTION
The Evolution EVSLIM14 Ultra Slim Splitter sends audio and video from a single source to up to 4 HDMI outputs up to 4K2K
(2160p) Ultra High Definition resolution without any loss of quality or resolution. The splitter is capable to switch input signal format according to the displays by utilizing automatic EDID management. These are able to be cascaded with other Evolution by Vanco products to create additional output options or to create an expanded distribution system. The Evolution Splitters offer the most convenient solution for splitting one source into multiple displays.

1. Power indicator: Illuminates red once powered on
2. Input HDCP compliant Indicator: Indicate the HDCP compliant status of the input signal
Illuminates green when the input signal carries HDCP
Blink green when the input signal is without HDCP
Remain off when there is no input signal
3. Output signal Indicators: Illuminates green when there is HDMI output, correspond to HDMI OUTPUT 1~4 separately
4. FIRMWARE: USB port, used for firmware update.
Note: Output HDCP compliant status depends on input signal. When the input signal is with HDCP, then output signal is with HDCP and vice versa.
5. IN: HDMI input port. connect with HDMI or DVI source device such as a STB or Blu-ray player
6. OUT: HDMI output ports, connect to HDMI displays to automatically capture the input resolution
7. DC 5V: Power socket, plug a DC 5V power adapter into this socket and tighten the screw.

CONNECTION DIAGRAM
CONNECT AND OPERATE
1. Connect a HDMI/ DVI source device (e.g. Blue-ray DVD) to the HDMI INPUT socket of 4K HDMI Splitter
1x4 with HDMI cable.
2. Connect HDMI displays to HDMI OUTPUT sockets of 4K HDMI Splitter 1x4 with HDMI cable.
3. Plug a DC 5V power adapter to the power port of 4K HDMI Splitter 1x4.
Note: All the ports support hot-plug. It’s important to know that hot plugging a display may result in splash screen at output ends.

EDID
EDID management helps the distribution and routing of signals from the source at the resolution of the first detected display (detecting from output 1~4).
For example: when output 1 connects with a 1080p display, the 4K HDMI Splitter 1x4 will select 1080p as output resolution and distribute 1080p signal to displays connected to output 1~4.
Note: If the display connected to output 2 don’t support 1080p signal, there will be no output on the display.
FIRMWARE UPGRADE
This product uses an USB port for online firmware upgrade. Follow these steps to upgrade firmware:
Step 1: Copy the latest upgrade file (.hex) to PC from the DOWNLOADS tab of the product page
Step 2: Connect the USB ports of the 4K HDMI Splitter 1x4 and the PC via USB cable.
Step 3: Launch the upgrade software by double-click the icon of EPFlash.exe, it will enter the upgrade interface shown as below:

Step 4: Select the right port number in the dropdown list of PORT, and click OpenFile to load the upgrade file.
Click Start to start firmware upgrading.

TROUBLE-SHOOTING
1. PROBLEM 1: Color loss or no video signal output in HDMI display CAUSE: The connecting cables may not be connected correctly. SOLUTION: Check whether the cables are connected correctly and in working condition.
2. PROBLEM 2: Color loss or no video signal output in HDMI display CAUSE: The display is not compatible with the present output resolution. SOLUTION: Make sure the resolution of the display(s) is compatible with the present resolution.
3. PROBLEM 3: No HDMI signal output in EVSLIM14 while local HDMI input is in normal working state
CAUSE: The connecting cables may not be connected correctly. SOLUTION: Check whether the cables are connected correctly and in working condition.
4. PROBLEM 4: Splash screen in output devices CAUSE: Poor quality of the connecting cable SOLUTION:
Change for another cable of good quality.
5. PROBLEM 5: Static becomes stronger when connecting the video connectors. CAUSE: Bad grounding
SOLUTION: Check the grounding and make sure it is connected well.

LIMITED WARRANTY
With the exceptions noted in the next paragraph, Vanco warrants to the original purchaser that the equipment it manufactures or sells will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Should this product, in Vanco’s opinion, prove defective within this warranty period,
Vanco, at its option, will repair or replace this product without charge. Any defective parts replaced become the property of Vanco. This warranty does not apply to those products which have been damaged due to accident, unauthorized alterations, improper repair, modifications, inadequate maintenance and care, or use in any manner for which the product was not originally intended.
Items integrated into Vanco products that are made by other manufacturers, notably computer hard drives and liquid crystal display panels, are limited to the term of the warranty offered by the respective manufacturers. Such specific warranties are available upon request to Vanco. A surge protector, power conditioner unit, or an uninterruptible power supply must be installed in the electrical circuit to protect against power surges.
If repairs are needed during the warranty period the purchaser will be required to provide a sales receipt/sales invoice or other acceptable proof of purchase to the seller of this equipment. The seller will then contact Vanco regarding warranty repair or replacement.
