Step 3.
Start the program HyperTerminal. Find this under your Start Programs menu. It may be under
Accessories or Communications.
Step 4.
When you start HyperTerminal, a window will open asking you for the name and icon of a new connection.
* Select ‘Cancel’.
* Under ‘File’, select ‘Open’.
* Change the ‘Look in’ folder to be where your System 2000 Modems folder is located.
(For example: C:\Program Files\Corby\Sys2000\Modems).
* Double-click on the file ‘Setup on Comx’ where ‘x’ is the com port the modem is connected to.
(The port is now configured for 115,200 baud, 8 data bits, no parity bit, 1 start bit, and hardware flow control.)
Step 5.
Still in HyperTerminal, do the following:
* Under ‘Transfer’, select ‘Send Text File’.
* Double-click on the file ‘Nic Modem Setup.txt.
OFF up
Step 6.
Reset your modem by turning power off and on. Disconnect modem from computer and install with the
System 2000 NIC. Be sure to use a Null Modem adapter (or Null Modem cable) between the System
2000 NIC and Modem. The easiest way to tell if you have the correct cable is by looking at the LEDs on the NIC. If the CTS and/or DCD LEDs are on with the cable connected to the modem (and the modem is powered up), then your cable is incorrect, and you need to insert a Null Modem Adapter between the NIC and Modem. Connect the phone line to the modem ‘JACK’ connector.
Step 7.
Go to System 2000 PC Modem Setup (see below). You may leave HyperTerminal running.
