in brief
In a busy office where one person is responsible for answering telephone calls and despatching resources
via radio, there has always been a requirement for a simple method of switching one headset between the
telephone instrument and the radio control system.
AWCSL Supply an Enhanced Common Headset interface, which allows the operator to monitor one audio
source whilst selected to the other.
features
The use of a headset in a control room reduces operator stress and keeps background noise levels to a
minimum, as has been proven for many years in the emergency services environment.
A unit supplied by A.W. Communications, when used in conjunction with an appropriate telephone
instrument, will enable the radio operator to rapidly switch their headset from telephone to radio with the
operation of a simple radio select button. Switching back to telephone is achieved by the same method.
A Switching signal (Active Low) will be required to switch the unit between telephone and radio,
alternatively the footswitch PTT contact can be used to switch the Enhanced unit, thus making the operation
as simple as possible.
dimensions
The unit measures 65mm width x 85mm depth x 30mm height.
The unit is supplied with a 1.8 m cable for attaching to a radio and a cable to connect to the telephone headset socket.
This unit when used in accordance with it’s operating instructions, is approved under approval number
NS/G/23/J/100003 for indirect connection to the public telecommunications systems in the United Kingdom.
