Guide
Getting Started: Using the AMD-2500 for live imaging during a Vidyo VTC encounter.
What do you need:
A. Vidyo Desktop on Cart or Computer with camera, microphone, and speaker
B.
AMD-2500 connected to Cart or Computer
Using the Exam Camera:
1.
Start your Vidyo session

Switch on the AMD2500

Turn on the exam light

When you are ready to share exam camera image:

Click the Settings Cog
5.
On the Devices tab select the “USB 2821” camera
6.
Click Save and close the Settings window
7.
Verify that the image on screen is coming from your AMD-

on the Vidyo control panel

2500 (you may need to change Vidyo self view options)

White Balance Image (see instructions below)

Use the AMD-2500 Controls to share live image:

Zoom In
Zoom Out

Freeze/Unfreeze Image
Reflection Control On/Off– Reduces shine on image

(dermatology lens only)

When you are finished sharing exam camera image:
10. Switch back to standard VTC camera (similar to steps 4-6)
11. Switch AMD-2500 light and power switches off
White Balance (8): White balance each time the camera is used and when the lens attachment is changed
1.
Hold the camera approx. 4-6 inches above a piece of plain white paper
2.
Press the W/B (White Balance) button on the back of the device
3.
Hold camera still for 3 seconds
4.
There is no indicator that W/B has occurred except that you may see a slight color change on the view screen.

Tips and Tricks:
 During a VTC session use the (Freeze/Unfreeze) button to pause the image.
This will eliminate camera shake and helps Vidyo render a better image.
 Blurry or Dark Images? Check your Auto-Focus and Auto-Iris controls. If in
manual mode adjust with controls; or turn on Auto mode.
 If your images appear overly red or blue it is probably time for a white balance. (See instructions on reverse side.)
Lenses:
Changing Lenses:
There are two standard lenses for the AMD-2500
Remove Lens-Holding the AMD -2500 firmly in one
hand use the other hand to pop the lens from the
main camera body.
1.
Exam Cam lens: Best for general exam images
at medium distance (8 inches to 6 feet).
2. Polarizing Lens: Best used for dermatology images
3.
Image Stabilizer Guide: Helps to stabilize camera when placed on patient’s skin.
Note: The AMD-2500 should be stored
with the general exam lens on the device
Add Lens- Firmly press the lens over the front of
the camera. The lens will pop onto the camera
housing.

Auto/Manual Focus - Switches between auto and manual focus settings

Far/Near Manual Focus buttons- in manual focus mode used to adjust the
image focus
Note: For most imaging
situations it is
recommended to leave
