This guide gives a brief overview on using SiraView. For more detail select Help -> User guide
Opening a Video File via the Wizard
1. Start SiraView and insert the CD/DVD or USB media containing the
CCTV in the computer into the relevant slot.
2. Select File -> Open video wizard and choose the CD/DVD drive,
USB drive or network location via Open folder from the list.
3. When the Wizard has finished searching for videos, choose a video file from the list and click
the OK button.
Utilising the Video Wizard is an effective way to locate CCTV footage where manufactures utilize
complex folder hierarchy to save the CCTV video data files.

Viewing Video
The display can be switched between the multi-camera and single camera views by clicking on an
image, or by using the toolbar buttons.
Play and Navigation controls
Single frame step
Fine position slider moves through frames one at a time
backwards / forwards
Pause and Play (1x speed)
Course position slider moves through
the entire video
Red bar indicates selected region for
export, set by Convert – Set start Point
(Ctrl+N) and Set end Point (Ctrl+M)
Note that in multi-camera mode the frame step will step to the next image in the file, in single
camera mode it will step to the next image from that camera
The speed control can be used to select other speeds both for forward and reverse. Full speed is
nominally 8x normal speed but as SiraView never drops frames this may be limited to a lower value
by the computer processor.
The dual slider system indicates the earliest and latest image in the video. Both the lower (coarse)
and upper (fine) sliders can be dragged to move around the video
To jump to a specific time click on the time in the upper right of the screen and a dialogue box will
open. Enter the time and click OK. You can also use File -> Go to time (Ctrl + G) to access this feature.
Printing and Saving a Still Image
Pause playback (Ctrl + Space) at the image you wish to print. Make sure that image is displayed in
single camera view (not in thumbnail view), and select File -> Print frame (Ctrl + P). You can save the
image as a bitmap using File -> Save frame (Ctrl + S).
Converting video
A section of footage from a single camera can be converted. If the video is to be edited or
processed in any way, the QuickTime .mov format should be used.
Selecting the Section to Convert
Navigate to the start of the section you want to convert and hit pause. Select Convert -> Set start
point (Ctrl + N). Now navigate to the end of the section to convert, hit pause and select Convert ->
Set end point (Ctrl + M). Alternatively you can select Convert -> Save video and manually set the
start and end times.
Selecting the Camera
Note which camera you want to convert and select Convert -> Save video. Select the camera to
export (if you want to export more than one camera you have to do one at a time).
