General

We have added the ability to enter after-the-fact (handwritten) payroll checks in a batch using the new
Actions > Enter Batch Handwritten Payroll Checks screen. For more information, see Entering batch
handwritten payroll checks.
We have made the following changes to the Check Layout tab of the Setup > Bank Accounts screen.

 We have renamed the tab to Layouts.
 We have added a Deposit Slip MICR section.
We have added a Print button to all screens accessed from the Actions > Analyze Client Activity
menu.
We have made the following enhancements to the Actions > Enter Transactions screen.
 We have added the File > Print Current Deposit Slip command to enable you to print deposit slips

We have added the Increment deposit reference by and Increment payment reference by fields to
the Settings tab in the Enter Transactions Options dialog (accessed via Edit > Options).

We have added the Efficiency tips for Accounting CS topic to the Help & How-To Center. This new
topic provides you with tips and shortcuts to save you time as you work with Accounting CS.

The application now automatically refreshes the Actions > Enter Trial Balance screen after importing
data from a spreadsheet. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #2108)
We have made the following enhancements to the Actions > Enter Transactions screen.
 We have updated the Check summary memo transactions to include Payment and AP payment
transaction amounts. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #2215)
 We have added the File > Print Current Deposit Slip command to enable you to print deposit slips
for Deposit and AR deposit transactions. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #995)
 We have added the Difference, Misstatement, and Auto-reverse fields to the Fields to Skip tab in
the Enter Transactions Options dialog (accessed via Edit > Options) to enable you to
automatically skip those fields during data entry. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #2719)
We have made the following enhancements to the Actions > View Account Activity dialog.
 When you close the dialog, the application now retains the values that were set in the Date,
Basis, and Journal fields. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #955)
 The application now excludes zero-amount transaction details.
The application now excludes zero-amount transaction details from the final level of drill-down details
in the following Actions > Analyze Client Activity views.

Accounting CS Client Access
Firms that use Accounting CS with a Payroll license only can now enable Accounting CS Client Access
for their clients.
Import of client data from QuickBooks®
We have added the Importing client data to QuickBooks workflow topic to the Help & How-To Center to
walk you through the tasks needed to import data from QuickBooks.
Export of client data to QuickBooks
We have added the Exporting client data from QuickBooks workflow topic to the Help & How-To Center to
walk you through the tasks needed to export data to QuickBooks.
Import of client data from QuickBooks Online
We have added the ability to import client data from QuickBooks Online. For more information, see
Importing clients from QuickBooks Online. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #533)
Note: Intuit® does not currently offer a way for Accounting CS to import payroll information from
QuickBooks Online. Intuit will introduce this capability in a future release of QuickBooks Online.
Workpapers CS™



We have added a Refresh button to the Engagement Binder Tree portlet toolbar. (Accounting CS
Ideas Community #1966)
We have added the ability to edit the date of a signoff in the Workpapers List portlet. Only the person
who created the signoff can make this change. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #1219)
We have added the following features to the Workpapers CS add-in ribbon within Microsoft® Excel®.

A Clear during roll forward button. For a selected cell in an Excel workpaper, you can click this
button to mark the contents of the cell for deletion after the document is rolled forward. For more
information, see Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word integrations, overview. (Accounting CS

The ability to format amount variables that have been inserted via the Workpapers CS add-in. For
more information, see Inserting variable formulas.


We have updated the following payroll reports to add the Social Security Number checkbox to the
Sections to Include section of the report options.

 We have updated the Data Entry Worksheet payroll report to add the following checkboxes to the

Note: If your firm has modified the predefined version of a report, the application will not overwrite your
existing report with an updated version. If this is the case, you will need to make the necessary changes
to your customized report manually, or you will need to restore the latest predefined version using the
Report Designer. To do the latter, select the report from the Reports list pane in the Report Designer and
then choose File > Restore Default.

Layouts
We have added a Deposit Slip layout that can be used for printing a deposit slip from the Actions > Enter
Transactions screen or the Actions > Enter Deposits screen. You can use the default layout with blank
paper or modify the layout to use with any deposit slip paper stock. (Accounting CS Ideas Community

Layout Designer
We have added the Bank Account Activity > Deposit section of variables to the variable tree for the
default Deposit Slip layout. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #995)
General – Payroll


We have updated the workers’ compensation wage limits for 2016 for Minnesota, New Jersey, North
Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
We have added an Alternate EIN/SSN field to the Setup > Firm Information > Firm screen. This field
is available if you are using the Alternate preparer block feature.

We have added a Time Rack GUID field to the Integration tab in the Setup > Clients screen. This
read-only field displays the client’s Time Rack globally unique identifier, which is used to identify the
client during integration with Time Rack.
We have added more event tracking for changes that are made in the Unemployment Base Rate
dialog, which is accessed from the Payroll Taxes tab in the Setup > Clients screen.
We have updated the Employee Spreadsheet Import wizard (accessed via File > Import >
Spreadsheet) to enable you to assign employees to multiple locations and departments.
Payroll form and filing information
The Payroll Form and Filing Information portlet on the Home or Firm dashboard provides the following
information: form approval status, form availability, available filing methods, form due dates, form filing
addresses, tax payment information (for all tax types), agency contact information, new hire reporting
information, payroll resources, and tax calendar (to view and print tax deposit due dates and form due
dates for all federal, state, and certain local tax agents). Click the applicable jurisdiction on the map to
display the federal, state, and local tax form information within the tabbed pages in the lower section of
the portlet. For information on working with this portlet, see Dashboard portlet: Payroll Form & Filing
Information.

Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing
In addition to the changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll
processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to
Accounting CS Payroll.


We have added more flexibility for handling non-funded agent liability payments via the Complete
Payroll Output feature. You can now choose to have the application make non-funded liability
payments with a Complete Payroll Output session only for liabilities that must be made at that time.

Firms that use Accounting CS with a Payroll license only can now enable Accounting CS Client
Access for their clients.
