Ian Cryer Appointed to the Position of Trustee
of the Lambton Kent District School Board
At a Special Meeting of the Board held on April 19, 2011, Trustees of the Lambton Kent District School
Board appointed Ian Cryer to the position of Trustee to replace the late Paul Millman.
Trustee Cryer lives in Sarnia and is a strong supporter of public education as demonstrated by his
involvement in education for over thirty years. He was an educator with the Lambton Kent District
School Board and its predecessor board for twenty years. He also held a variety of positions with the
Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario for thirteen years and was the local president when he
retired from education.
“I would like to thank the Trustees for the opportunity they have given me to serve on the Board,”
declared Trustee Cryer. “I have always had the interests of students, teachers and education in general
in mind. I am looking forward to working with the team to maintain and enhance the strong education
base evident in the public schools throughout Lambton-Kent.”
“On behalf of the Board, I am very pleased to welcome Trustee Cryer to the Board,” stated Chair
Carmen McGregor. “His past experiences in education will bring another perspective to the decision
making process. I would also like to thank all of the individuals who took the time to submit applications
and present to the Board. We were fortunate to have a strong field of candidates to select from.”
