Boyertown Junior High School - West Timetable for Course Registration 2012-2013 Grade 9 to 10 Dec 14 Flex: High School Introduction Assembly - Grade 9 Jan. 20 A letter will be mailed home with recommendations for math, honors courses, and world language for the next school year. Jan. 23 Flex: High School Scheduling Assembly - Grade 9 - How do I schedule myself? Topics: how to fill out the course form and read the book; Honors, Academic. Distribute course selection form and Program of Studies booklet. Jan. 25 The High School staff will host an evening program on January 25, 2011 at the High School at 7:00 PM for parents of ninth grade students. (Snow date 2/1/12) Feb. 6, 7 Counselors will visit English classes to pick up the completed course selection forms from the students. Counselors will meet with each student and review the card to make sure it is accurate. The counselors will input the selections during that meeting. May 11 Tour of the High School for 9th grade students. Grade 8 to 9 January 19 A letter will be mailed home with recommendations for math, honors courses, and world language for the next school year. January 23 During the week of January 23, the 8th grade teachers will discuss course offerings for 9th grade. Major subject teachers will discuss the difference between academic courses and honors courses. English teachers and science teachers will also talk about the electives in their area. The special area teachers will talk about the specific courses offered in 9th grade. January 24 We will have an assembly for 8th grade students to learn about world language offerings and ROTC. January 26, 27 Counselors distribute scheduling materials to students during Science classes. The counselors will discuss the possible choices and sequences of courses. They will explain the proper way to complete the selection form. January 30 We will hold a meeting for parents of 8th grade students at West at 7:00 PM in the auditorium to discuss the Program of Studies and the scheduling process. Seventh grade parents are also welcome to attend. Feb. 1, 2 Counselors will visit English classes to pick up the completed course selection forms from the students. At that time, the counselors will enter the student selections into the computer and review it with the students for accuracy.
