BOARD REPORT
July 14, 2014
REGULAR MEETING
TREASURER’S REPORT
The Board approved the payment of bills totaling $77,230.11. The Board approved the
RC-3 “Certificate of Records Disposal (RC-3) Form.”
SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
An out-of-state trip for the SHS Speech and Debate Team to travel to Yale University in
New Haven, Connecticut, from September 19 through 21, 2014, for the Yale Invitational was
approved. A resolution was approved authorizing the varsity girls’ tennis team to stay overnight
in Mason, Ohio, on August 12, 2014, following their tennis match.
The Board approved a resolution between the Solon City School District and Mr. & Mrs.
John Doe regarding the educational placement and program for their child. Supplemental
contracts for 239 individuals and non-district pupil activity permit contracts for 18 individuals
were approved for the 2014-15 school year.

The resignations of Bryan Drost, Spanish teacher at Solon Middle School, and Andrea
Kaufmann, 4th grade teacher at Parkside Elementary School, effective August 31, 2014, were
approved. A resolution authorizing the Superintendent to enter into a contract with
MoodyNolan as the primary architects for the Orchard Middle School interior redesign was
approved.
Tuition reimbursements were approved for three individuals in the amount of $1,261.92.
The next board meeting will be August 11, 2014, 7 p.m. at the Board of Education.

2014-15 SOLON SCHOOLS CALENDAR
The new district-PTA calendar for the upcoming school year is posted on the Solon Schools
website. Families and community members who no longer have students in the schools may
find a copy of the calendar to download in the News and Notes section of the home page.
Hard copies of the calendar will be mailed to district families at the end of July.
