Irradiation of Texas Instruments

TLK2711

1.6-2.7 GBPS Transceiver

at The Salk Institute, San Diego, CA

May 14, 2006

On May 14, 2006, ICS irradiated 12 TLK2711, 1.6-2.7 GBPS Transceivers (Log 1482) manufactured by Texas Instruments, Sherman, Texas. The Texas Instruments purchase order number is 4511320923. The ICS Task number is 755. The radiation test procedure is

RTP 651.

The TLK2711, 1.6-2.7 GBPS Transceivers were irradiated per RTP 651, The total dose exposures were 25, 50, 75, & 100krads(Si), one level for each group of three devices

(serialized) at a dose rate of 2.14rad(Si)/second [7704 rads(Si)/hour]. The TLK2711, 1.6-

2.7 GBPS Transceivers were placed in a customer supplied burn-in/radiation bias board.

The bias board was set to the distance of 70cm from the Co

source. This provided for a dose rate of 2.14rads(Si)/second to each device.

The TLK2711, 1.6-2.7 GBPS Transceivers were positioned to uniformly expose the entire

Bias Board area. The total irradiation time for 100krad(Si) was 13 hours.

NOTE: All devices were immediately placed in a chilled Dry Ice environment when they ended their respective exposure periods.

The irradiator was the Shepherd Gammabeam 150-C, room source at The Salk Institute,

La Jolla, California.

The dose rate calculation is based on the Salk Institute dose rate vs. distance calibration chart. Their source is calibrated by J.L. Shepherd & Associates and is traceable to NIST.

The setup consisted of:

ƒ 12 pieces plus 4 spare, TLK2711, 1.6-2.7 GBPS Transceivers.

ƒ 1 Bias board (TI supplied burn in board).

ƒ 1 Fluke Model 8600A DMM Calib # BF1178. Calibrated 2/28/06, due 2/28/07.

ƒ 1 Fluke Model 8600A DMM Calib # BF1174. Calibrated 2/28/06, due 2/28/07.

ƒ 1 HP DC Power Supply Model 6289A.

ƒ 1 Shepherd Gammabeam 150-C.

The bias board voltages and currents were monitored at the start and end of each exposure period. All test equipment is property of ICS with the exception of the Shepherd

Gammabeam 150-C and the DUTs.

The exposure groups by serial # and exposure level are as follows:

25krads (Si) TID —S.N. 46, 69, & 89.

50krads(Si) TID —S.N. 108-110.

75krads(Si) TID —S.N. 113-115.

100krads(Si) TID —S.N. 121-123.

Controls —S.N. 106, 116, 124, & 125.

No unusual events were observed during the radiation exposure of the TLK2711, 1.6-2.7

GBPS Transceivers.
