Yard debris, such as leaves, branches and brush can be brought, as well as scrap metal, including appliances, BBQ grills, and other miscellaneous items. This free recycling opportunity will be available to residents from October 1st through October 31, 2008 at the Shelton and Belfair Solid Waste Facilities. The Shelton facility is open from 8-4 daily, and the Belfair site is open from 9-4 daily. Our facilities in Union and Hoodsport, which are open from 9-4 on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, will not be able to offer Fall Clean Up. Mason County has again partnered with local businesses to allow residents to drop off acceptable materials directly at their facilities for no charge. This is ideal for those with large loads or as a way to save some gas. Participants are advised to please call ahead for information on hours, days of operation, and more information on acceptable materials. Metals, refrigeration units, appliances and auto hulks will be taken for no charge at the following businesses: Mason County Salvage, 1840 W. Cloquallum Rd. 360-426-8626 Shelton Auto Parts, 1501 Dayton Airport Rd. 360-427-5150 Hwy 3 Auto Wrecking, 8633 E Hwy. 3, 360-426-0809 Yard and wood debris can be dropped off at Bill McTurnal Enterprises, 721 Kamilche Lane, 432-0971 and Brady Trucking, 2970 Johns Prairie Rd. 426-3132. Yard and wood debris , along with stumps, brush, grasses, leaves, and clean lumber will be accepted at Mason County Wood recyclers, 2994 Johns Prairie Rd. 432-9222. This free opportunity is available to residential customers only; commercial haulers will be charged. Mason County would also like to recognize and thank North Mason Fiber and Mason County Garbage along with these other businesses for their assistance and participation in our cleanup events.
