If this CRAFTSMAN Air Compressor fails due to a defect in material or workmanship within one year from the date of purchase, Sears will at its option repair or replace it free of charge. Contact your nearest Sears Service

Center (1-800-4-MY-HOME ® ) to arrange for repair, or return the Air

Compressor to the place of purchase for replacement.

If this Air Compressor is used for commercial or rental purposes, this warranty applies for only ninety days from the date of purchase.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.

Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities contains chemicals known (to the State of California) to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some example of these chemicals are:

Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with approved safety equipment, always wear MSHA/NIOSH approved, properly fitting face mask or respirator when using such tools.

When using air tools, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of personal injury.

Improper operation or maintenance of this product could result in serious injury and property damage. Read and understand all warnings and operation instructions before using this equipment.

HAZARD

WARNING: Risk of explosion or fire

What Could Happen

It is normal for electrical contacts within the motor to spark.

How To Prevent It

Always operate the inflator in a well ventilated area free of combustible materials, gasoline, or solvent vapors.

If electrical sparks from inflator come into contact with flammable vapors, they may ignite, causing fire or explosion.

Restricting any of the inflator ventilation

openings will cause serious overheating and could cause fire.

Store flammable materials in a secure location away from inflator.

Never place objects against or on top

of inflator. Operate inflator in an open area at least 12 inches away from any

wall or obstruction that would restrict the flow of fresh air to the ventilation openings.

Operate inflator in a clean, dry well ventilated area. Do not operate unit in any confined area.

Unattended operation of this product could result in personal injury or property damage. To reduce the risk of fire, do not allow the inflator to operate unattended.

Always remain in attendance with the product when it is operating.

Always disconnect electrical power by moving on/off switch to the off position and unplug the power cord.

What Could Happen

ATTACHMENTS & ACCESSORIES:

Exceeding the pressure rating of air operated accessories, tires, inflatable balls, and other inflatables items can

cause them to explode or fly apart, and could result in serious injury.

Unattended tires, inflatable balls, inflatable toys, and other inflatable

items can over inflate very quickly sometimes in a matter of seconds and result in personal injury or property damage.

How To Prevent It

Follow the equipment manufacturers recommendation and never exceed the

maximum allowable pressure rating of attachments or inflatable items.

Always remain in attendance when inflating tires, inflatable balls, inflatable

toys, and other inflatable items. Be prepared to stop inflator when item is fully inflated, sometimes in a matter of seconds.

WARNING: Risk from Flying Objects

What Could Happen

The inflator air stream can cause soft

tissue damage to exposed skin and

can propel dirt, chips, loose particles, and small objects at high speed, resulting in property damage or personal injury.

How To Prevent It

Always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved safety

glasses with side shields when using the inflator.

Never direct compressed air toward any part of the body or at other people or animals.

Always turn the inflator off before attempting maintenance, attaching tools, or accessories.

HAZARD

WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock

What Could Happen

Your inflator is powered by electricity.

Like any other electrically powered device, If it is not used properly it may cause electric shock.

How To Prevent It

Never operate the inflator outdoors when it is raining or in wet conditions.

Never operate inflator with protective

covers removed or damaged.

Always replace damaged or worn electric cords before operating inflator.

Repairs attempted by unqualified personnel can result in serious injury or death by electrocution.

Electrical Grounding: Failure to provide adequate grounding to this product could result in serious injury or death from electrocution.

See grounding instructions.

Any electrical wiring or repairs required on this product should be performed by

authorized service center personnel in accordance with national and local electrical codes.

Make certain that the electrical circuit to which the inflator is connected provides proper electrical grounding, correct voltage, and adequate fuse protection.

When operating inflator outdoors use

GFCI outlet.

HAZARD

WARNING: Risk to Breathing

What Could Happen

The compressed air directly from your inflator is not safe for breathing. The air stream may contain carbon monoxide,

toxic vapors, or solid particles from the tank. Breathing these contaminants

can cause serious injury or death.

How To Prevent It

Air obtained directly from the inflator should never be used to supply air for

human consumption. In order to use air produced by this inflator for breathing, suitable filters and in-line safety equipment must be properly installed.

In-line filters and safety equipment used in conjunction with the inflator must be capable of treating air to all applicable local and federal codes prior to human consumption.

HAZARD

WARNING: Risk of Burns

What Could Happen

Touching exposed metal such as the inflator head or outlet tubes, can result in serious burns.

How To Prevent It

Never touch any exposed metal parts

on inflator during or immediately after operation. Inflator will remain hot for several minutes after operation.

Do not reach around protective shrouds or attempt maintenance until unit has been allowed to cool.

WARNING: Risk from Moving Parts

What Could Happen

Moving parts such as the pulley, flywheel, and belt can cause serious injury if they come into contact with you, your clothing, loose hair, or jewelery.

How To Prevent It

Never operate the inflator with guards or covers which are damaged or removed.

Attempting to operate inflator with

damaged or missing parts or attempting to repair inflator with protective shrouds removed can expose you to moving parts and can result in serious injury.

Any repairs required on this product should be performed by authorized service center personnel.

WARNING: Risk of Falling

What Could Happen

An inflator can fall from a table, workbench, or roof causing damage to the inflator and could result in serious injury or death to the operator.

How To Prevent It

Always operate inflator in a stable

secure position to prevent accidental movement of the unit. Never operate inflator on a roof or other elevated position.

Unsafe operation of your inflator could lead to serious injury or death to you or others.

How To Prevent It

Review and understand all instructions and warnings in this manual.

Become familiar with the operation and

controls of the inflator.

Keep operating area clear of all persons, pets, and obstacles.

Keep children away from the inflator at all

times.

Do not operate the product when fatigued or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Stay alert at all times.

Never defeat the safety features of this product.

Equip area of operation with a fire extinguisher.

Do not operate machine with missing, broken, or unauthorized parts.

GLOSSARY

Become familiar with these terms before operating the unit.

CFM: Cubic feet per minute.

SCFM: Standard cubic feet per minute; a unit of measure of air delivery.

PSIG: Pounds per square inch gauge; a unit of measure of pressure.

Code Certification: Products that bear one or more of the following marks: UL, CUL, ETL, CETL, have been evaluated by OSHA certified independent safety laboratories and meet the applicable Underwriters

Laboratories Standards for Safety.

Branch Circuit: Circuit carrying electricity from electrical panel to outlet.

ACCESSORIES

This unit is capable of powering the following Accessories. Accessories included with your inflator:

Inflation Needle: Used to inflate sport balls.

Extension Nozzle: Used to inflate small inflatable items such as air rafts and beach balls.

High Flow Inflator/Deflator adapter body with three nozzles and seal

ring: Used to inflate or deflate air mattresses, small boats, inflatable toys, and other inflatable items that use a large volume of low-pressure air.

Grasp handle and lift the inflator out of the carton.

Remove all packaging from inflator and discard.

INSTALLATION

HOW TO SET UP YOUR

UNIT

Location of the inflator

Locate the inflator in a clean, dry and well ventilated area. The inflator pump and housing are designed to allow for proper cooling. The ventilation openings on the inflator are necessary to maintain proper operating temperature. Do not place rags or other containers on or near these openings.

1.

The cord set and plug with this unit contains a grounding pin.

This plug MUST be used with a grounded outlet.

IMPORTANT: The outlet being used must be installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

2.

Make sure the outlet being used has the same configuration as the grounded plug. DO NOT

USE AN ADAPTER. See illustration.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

Risk of Electrical

Shock. In the event of a short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This inflator must be properly grounded.

The inflator is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with an appropriate grounding plug (see following illustrations). The plug must be used with an outlet that has been installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

Inspect the plug and cord before each use. Do not use if there are signs of damage.

4.

If these grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if in doubt as to whether the inflator is properly grounded, have the installation checked by a qualified electrician.

Risk of Electrical

Shock. IMPROPER

GROUNDING CAN RESULT IN

ELECTRICAL SHOCK.

Do not modify the plug provided. If it does not fit the available outlet, a correct outlet should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Repairs to the cord set or plug

MUST be made by a qualified electrician.

Extension Cords

If an extension cord must be used, be sure it is:

• a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounding plug, and a

3-slot receptacle that will accept the plug on the product

• in good condition

• no longer than 50 feet

• 16 gauge (AWG) or larger. (Wire size increases as gauge number decreases. 14, 12, 10, and 8

AWG may also be used.

Voltage and Circuit Protection

Refer to the specification chart for the voltage and minimum branch circuit requirements.

Certain inflators can be operated on a

15 amp circuit if the following conditions are met.

1.

Voltage supply through branch circuit is 15 amps.

2.

Circuit is not used to supply any other electrical needs (lights, appliances, etc.).

3.

Extension cords comply with specifications.

4.

Circuit is equipped with a 15 amp circuit breaker or 15 amp time delay fuse. NOTE: If compressor is connected to a circuit protected by fuses, use only time delay fuses. Time delay fuses should be marked “D” in

Canada and “T” in the US.

If any of the above conditions cannot be met, or if operation of the compressor repeatedly causes interruption of the power, it may be necessary to operate it from a 20 amp circuit. It is not necessary to change the cord set.

YOUR UNIT. Compare the illustrations with your unit to familiarize yourself with the location of various controls and adjustments. Save this manual for future reference.

Description of Operation

On/Off Switch: Used to turn inflator on and off.

Pressure Gauge: Gives the pressure reading in PSI.

Universal Valve Adapter: Used with accessories included with inflator and standard tire valves.

Inflation Needle: Attaches directly to the universal valve adapter to inflate sport balls.

Extension Nozzle: Attaches directly to the universal valve adapter to inflate small inflatable items such as air rafts and beach balls.

High Flow Inflator/Deflator Adapter

Body: Used with inflator/deflator nozzles it attaches directly to the universal valve adapter to inflate or deflate air mattresses, small boats, inflatable toys, and other inflatable items that use a large volume of lowpressure air.

Inflator/Deflator Nozzles: Used with the high flow inflator/deflator adapter body.

Seal Ring: used with inflator/deflator nozzles to prevent air from leaking out of inflatables with very large air inlets.

Risk of Bursting.

Unattended tires, inflatable balls, inflatable toys, and other inflatable items can overinflate very quickly, sometimes in a matter of seconds, and result in personal injury or property damage.

How to use High Flow

Inflator/Deflator Adapter Body

1.

Place the universal valve adapter over high flow inflator/deflator adapter body as shown.

"inflation" outlet

Insert nozzle into inflatable and then start inflator, see "How to

Start" paragraph.

2.

Press lever on universal valve adapter down to lock in place.

3.

Choose nozzle to be used to inflate or deflate. NOTE: The seal ring may be used with any of the nozzles to prevent air from leaking out of inflatables with very large air inlets.

4.

The high flow inflate/deflate adapter body attachment has an

"inflation" outlet and "deflation" outlet. Attach the nozzle to the preferred outlet. NOTE:

"Inflation" and "Deflation" are marked at outlets.

NOTE: If inflatable is not getting firm enough, place thumb over the

"deflation" outlet to allow air to go directly into the inflatable.

Risk of Bursting.

DO NOT overinflate. Keeping thumb over

"Deflation" outlet could cause inflatable to over-inflate. Use caution when placing thumb over

"Deflation" outlet.

How to Inflate Tires

1.

Place the universal valve adapter over tire valve stem.

2.

Press lever on universal valve adapter down to lock in place.

Risk of Flying

Objects/Bursting

Objects. Over inflating tire could cause the tire to burst or the universal valve adapter to pop off the valve stem and become a projectile. Use a tire pressure gauge to ensure an accurate tire pressure reading, because the pressure gauge on the unit is for general reference only.

How to Inflate Sport Balls

Risk of Bursting.

Most sports balls with no initial air will fill in less than

10 seconds. Watch sport balls carefully while filling, do not overfill.

1.

Place inflator needle into the universal valve adapter and press lever on universal valve adapter down to lock in place.

2. Insert inflator needle into sport ball to be inflated.

3.

Place On/Off switch in the "ON" position. When sport ball is firm place On/Off switch in the "OFF" position. IMPORTANT: Most sports balls with no initial air will fill in less than 10 seconds.

How to Use Your Unit

How to Stop:

1.

Set the On/Off switch to “OFF”.

Place On/Off switch to “OFF”.

2.

Attach inflation needle, extension nozzle, or high flow inflator/deflator adapter body to universal valve adapter.

3. Insert inflation needle, extension nozzle, or high flow inflator/deflator adapter body with desired nozzle into inflatable.

Risk of Bursting.

Too much air pressure causes a hazardous risk of bursting. Check the manufacturer's maximum pressure rating for objects being inflated.

Carefully follow the "How to Start" instructions.

How to Start:

1.

Place On/Off switch to "OFF".

2.

Plug the power cord into the grounded outlet.

NOTE: Before turning the inflator on know the desired pressure (measured in PSI).

3.

Place On/Off switch to “ON” to start inflator. If using the pressure gauge watch it closely and when it reaches the desired pressure place the on/off switch in the

"OFF" position.

IMPORTANT: Watch inflatable carefully while filling; do not overfill.

NOTE: The pressure gauge on the unit is for general reference only.

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning

1.

Place the On/Off switch to "OFF" and unplug the cord.

2.

Wipe plastic parts clean using mild soap and warm water.

STORAGE

1.

Set the On/Off switch to "OFF" and unplug the cord.

2.

Store accessories in the storage bag located on back of unit. The storage bag has a smaller compartment to hold smaller accessories.

Coil the air hose around shroud and snap into hose snap.

Store the inflator in a clean and dry location.

3.

Wind the electrical cord loosely around the inflator and snap it onto itself for storage.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Risk of Unsafe Operation. Voltage sources, moving parts, or compressed air sources are exposed when repairing the compressor. Personal injury can occur. Unplug the compressor before attempting any repairs.

PROBLEM

Motor will not run.

CAUSE

Fuse blown, circuit breaker tripped.

CORRECTION

1. Check fuse box for blown fuse and replace as necessary. Reset circuit breaker. Do not use a fuse or circuit breaker with higher rating than that specified for your particular branch circuit.

2. Check for proper fuse.

You should be using a

“Time Delay” fuse.

3. Check for low voltage problem.

4. Check the extension cord.

5. Disconnect the other electrical appliances from circuit or operate the compressor on its own branch circuit.

Check the extension cord.

Extension cord is wrong length or gauge.

Faulty motor.

Contact a Trained Service

Technician.

Plomo de pinturas a base de plomo.

Siempre opere el inflador de aire en

áreas bien ventiladas, sin materiales combustibles ni vapores de gasolina ni de solventes

Guardar las substancias inflamables en un lugar seguro lejos del inflador.

Si las chispas eléctricas del inflador entran en contacto con vapores inflamables, pueden encenderse causando un incendio o una explosión.

Siempre observe las recomendaciones del fabricante del equipo y nunca exceda la

presión máxima especificada para un aditamento o artículo inflable.

Siempre permanezca atendiendo esta

unidad cuando esté inflando llantas, pelotas, juguetes y otros artículos

inflables. Esté listo a detener el inflador cuando el artículo esté completamente inflado, algunas veces sólo unos segundos.

Al usar el inflador, siempre usar gafas de seguridad con protectores laterales que

Siempre apague el inflador antes de intentar darle mantenimiento o conectar herramientas o accesorios.

¿QUÉ PUEDE OCURRIR?

El inflador opera con electricidad.

Como cualquier otro dispositivo eléctrico y puede causar choque eléctrico si no se usa adecuadamente.

Las reparaciones efectuadas por personal no calificado pueden causar lesiones serias o muerte por electrocución.

¿CÓMO PREVENIRLO?

Nunca opere el inflador en el exterior cuando esté lloviendo o en condiciones mojadas.

Nunca opere el inflador sin las cubiertas

protectoras o si están dañadas.

Siempre reemplace los cordones eléctricos dañados o gastados antes de opere el inflador.

Todo cableado o reparación eléctrica que esta unidad requiera debe hacerla personal calificado de un servicentro

autorizado acatando los códigos eléctricos nacional y locales.

Conexión a tierra: Si no se conecta esta unidad adecuadamente a tierra, podría causar lesiones serias o muerte debido

a electrocución.

Asegúrese que el circuito eléctrico al cual esté conectado el inflador, provea conexión adecuada a tierra del voltaje correcto y tenga protección adecuada mediante fusibles.

Al usar el inflador en exteriores, enchúfelo a un tomacorriente con GFCI.

que, en conjunción con el inflador, produzcan aire apto para consumo humano cumpliendo previamente con todos los códigos locales y federales.

INSTALACIÓN

COMO ARMAR LA UNIDAD

Ubicación del inflador

Ubique el inflador en un lugar limpio, seco y bien ventilado. La bomba del inflador y su cubierta están diseñadas para permititr su enfriamiento adecuado. Las aberturas en la unidad son necesarias para su enfriamiento, no las obstruya con trapos ni coloque otros contenedores u objetos cerca de las aberturas.

1.

El enchufe del cordón provisto tiene una clavija para conexión a tierra.

Este enchufe debe conectarse a un tomacorriente conectado a tierra.

IMPORTANTE: El tomacorriente que se utilise debe estar instalado y conectado a tierra de acuerdo a los códigos y ordenanzas locales.

2.

Cerciorarse que el tomacorriente a usarse tenga la misma configuración del enchufe con conexión a tierra.

INSTRUCCIONES PARA

CONECTAR A TIERRA

Riesgo de choque eléctrico.

En caso de cortocircuito, la conexión a tierra reduce el riesgo de choque eléctrico proveyendo una vía de escape a la corriente eléctrica. Este inflador debe conectarse a tierra adecuadamente.

El inflador de aire está equipado con un cordón que tiene un alambre para conectar a tierra y un enchufe adecuado para tierra. El enchufe debe conectarse a un tomacorriente instalado a tierra de acuerdo con los códigos y ordenanzas locales.

Antes de cada uso, inspeccionar si el cordón y el enchufe tienen daños.

4.

Si no entiende estas instrucciones completamente, o si tiene dudas si el inflador está conectado a tierra correctament, haga que revisar la instalación por un electricista calificado.

Riesgo de choque eléctrico.

LA CONEXIÓN INADECUADA A TIERRA

PUEDE CAUSAR CHOQUE ELÉCTRICO.

No modifique el enchufe provisto. Si no encaja en el tomacorriente, un electricista calificado debe instalar un tomacorriente adecuado.

Las reparaciones del cordón y del enchufe sólo las debe HACER un electrisista calificado.

Cables de extensión eléctrica

Si - no obstante - debe utilizarse una extensión de cable, asegúrese de que:

• La extensión eléctrica de 3 conductores, tenga un enchufe de conexión a tierra de 3 hojas, y que exista un receptáculo que acepte el enchufe del producto.

• Esté en buenas condiciones.

• No más largo que 50 pies (15,2 m).

• Calibre 16 (AWG) o mayor. (La medida de los cables se incrementa a medida que su número ordinal decrece. 14,

12, 10, y 8 AWG pueden ser usados también.

Voltaje y Protección del Circuito

Para los requerimientos de protección de voltaje y circuito del inflador, referirse a la tabla especificaciones.

Ciertos modelos de infladores pueden opere en circuito de 15 Amp. si es que:

El voltaje en circuito de suministro es de 15 amperios.

2.

3.

4.

El circuito está equipado con interruptor de circuito de 15 Amp. o un fusible de retardo de 15 Amp.

Usar un fusible de retardo con la marca “D” en Canada o con la marca

“T” en los EE.UU.

Si no puede cumplirse alguna de las condiciones mencionadas arriba, o si la operación del inflador causa interrupciones repetidas de energía, puede ser necesario opere el inflador en un circuito de 20 Amp. No es necesario cambiar el cordón.

Como usar la boquilla infladora / desinfladora de gran flujo:

1.

Coloque el adaptador de válvula universal en la boquilla infladora / desinfladora de gran flujo como se muestra.

Como inflar llantas:

1.

Presione la palanquita en el

Riesgo de objetos disparados / reventados. Si se infla una llanta demasiado, puede reventar o el Adaptador universal puede saltar de la válvula y convertirse en un proyectil.

Para una medida precisa de la presión, use un medidor de presión de llantas .

El medidor de presión de la unidad es sólo para referencia general.

3.

Referirse al párrafo "Como arrancar el inflador".

Como inflar pelotas

Riesgo de

Reventazón.

Muchas pelotas totalmente desinfladas se inflan totalmente en menos de 10 segundos. Observe la pelota cuidadosamente mientras se infla para no sobre inflarla.

1.

Coloque la boquilla tipo aguja en el

Adaptador universal para válvulas y presione la palanquita hacia abajo para fijarla en posición.

2.

Inserte la boquilla tipo aguja en la válvula de la pelota que se va a inflar.

3.

Sujete la pelota como se muestra y ponga en marcha el inflador presionando el interruptor a la posición

"ON". Cuando la pelota esté firme, apague el inflador presionando el interruptor a la posición "OFF".

Importante: La mayoría de pelotas carentes totalmente de aire, se inflarán en menos de 10 segundos.

Como Usar la Unidad

Como detenerla:

1 .

Presione el interruptor a la posición

"OFF" (apagado).

Antes de arrancar el inflador:

1.

Cerciorarse que "OFF" (apagado)

2.

Instale la extensión de boquilla o la boquilla infladora / desinfladora de gran flujo en el Adaptador universal para válvulas.

3.

Inserte la boquilla tipo aguja, la extensión de la boquilla o la boquilla infladora / desinfladora de gran flujo con el adaptador de boquilla deseado en el artículo a inflarse.

Como arrancar:

1.

Coloque el interruptor en la posición

"OFF" (apagado).

2.

Enchufe el cordón del inflador a un tomacorriente conectado a tierra.

NOTA: Antes de arrancar el inflador, infórmese de la presión de aire deseada

(medida en PSI).

3.

Para arrancar el inflador,presione el interruptor a la posición "ON"

(arrancar). Si se va a usar el medidor de presión, obsérvelo detenidamente. Cuando la presión llegue al nivel deseado, presione el interruptor a la posición "OFF"

(apagado).

IMPORTANTE: Observe bien los artículos que se inflan para no sobre inflarlos.

NOTA: El medidor de presión en la unidad sólo es para referencia general.

MANTENIMIENTO

Limpieza

1.

Coloque el interruptor en la posición

"OFF" (apagado) y desenchufe el cordón.

2.

Frote las partes plásticas con agua tibia y jabón suave.

ALMACENAJE

1.

Coloque el interruptor en la posición

"OFF" (apagado) y desenchufar el cordón.

2.

Guarde los accesorios en la bolsa ubicada atrás de la unidad. La bolsa tiene un compartimiento pequeño para guardar los accesorios más pequeños.

4.

Enrolle la manguera de aire en forma suelta alrededor de la parte superior del casco y engánchela en la abrazadera.

5.

DIAGNÓSTICO DE PROBLEMAS

Riesgo de operación insegura. Al reparar el inflador, quedan expuestas fuentes de corriente, piezas movibles o fuentes de aire comprimido. Pueden producirse lesiones personales. Desenchufar el inflador antes de intentar cualquier reparación.

PROBLEMA

El motor no arranca

CAUSA

Fusible volado, disyuntor de circuito abierto.

CORRECCIÓN

1. Revise el fusible en la caja de fusibles y cámbielo si fuese necesario. Reactive el disyuntor de circuito. No use un fusible o disyuntor de circuito de mayor capacidad que el especificado para ese circuito en particular.

2. Revisar que el fusible en uso sea el adecuado. Se debe usar un fusible de retardo.

3. Inspeccione si existe un problema de voltaje bajo.

4. Revise el cordón de extensión.

5. Desconecte los otros artefactos eléctricos que estén operando en el mismo circuito o hacer funcionar el inflador en un circuito propio.

Revise la extensión del cordón Cordón de extensión de longitud o calibre inadecuado.

Motor defectuoso.

Comuníquese con un técnico calificado de servicio.
