Powering up the Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier
The unit is turned on pushing the front power button. If after pushing the button nothing happens, please refer to the troubleshooting
section of the present manual.
ATTENTION: the Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier doesn't have the standby function and therefore must be turned off
when unused to avoid power dissipation.
Notes on balanced input
The balanced input accepts balanced signal according to the standard XLR pinout as reported in the picture below. To avoid creating
ground loop between the power amplifier and the source (which can cause hum problems) use only "true" balanced cables having
the ground pin separated from the shield and the cable shield properly connected to the cable connector.
Electrical specifications: The maximum voltage signal accepted by the Fortissimo balanced input is of: 7Vrms differential
signal. The differential input impedance is 20KOhm while the impedance on each phase is of 1MegaOhm.
Note sull'ingresso bilanciato.
sempre cavi bilanciati "veri".

Notes on Phono Input.
The Fortissimo integrated Amplifier phono stage is a very versatile high performance stage. The stage can be set to accept
MM or MC signal and also permits the setting of the input impedance of the circuit and to vary the gain of the stage. The phono
mode is set by the position of a jumper on the board into one of the two connectors: JMP5P or JMP6P. If the jumper is placed in
JMP5P, also indicated as MM on the board, the phono is set in MM mode. Instead if the jumper is placed in: JMP6P, indicated on the
board as MC, the stage is set in MC. When in MM mode the stage has a gain of about 60dB at DC (that's say 1000@DC) while
when the stage is in MC mode the stage has a gain of about 80dB at DC (that's say 10000 @DC). Such gain, both in MM and in MC
mode, can be increased or decreased into a +/-10dB range. See further the section about such procedures for details. The input
impedance of the stage can be chosen between: 47K and 47K//150pF (47K paralleled with a 150pF capacitor) for the MM mode
while for the MC mode the input impedance can be chosen between 100R and 50R. The impedance should be chosen to match the
load impedance suggested by the cartridge manufacturer. The impedance setting is done placing a jumper on the board into the
JMP2P or JMP3P connection. Placing the jumper into JMP2P, sets the input impedance at 47K if the stage is in MM mode and sets
the impedance at 50R if the phono is set in MC. Instead, placing the jumper into the connector JMP3P sets the input impedance at
47K//150pF if the stage is set in MM mode and sets the impedance at 100R if the stage is set in MC mode. Please refer to the
pictures below for the different available phono settings and the corresponding jumper position. Please note that the signal doesn't
pass through the jumper (this would cause the low level signal to be corrupted) instead the jumpers activate different paths for the
signal via a low noise low distortion Analogue multiplexer and relay.
Note sull'ingresso Phono

Attention: because of the high gain of the phono stage some devices such as mobile phones can cause interference when the
Phono input is selected. Please avoid mobile phones and similar devices working close the Fortissimo IA inputs while the Phono
Input is selected.
Notes on PRE/REC Output
The Fortissimo integrated Amplifier has a PRE/REC Output. This means that this output can be set to give a REC out or a Pre
Out. When set as REC Out, the output carries the selected input. In case a digital input has been selected the PRE/REC Out gives
the digital audio signal converted in analogue by the inner Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier DAC section. When set as Pre Out,
the Pre/REC Out carries the preamplified signal coming from the selected audio source. Therefore the signal on the PRE/REC Out is
level controlled and follows the amplitude of the signal sent to the power stage of the Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier. If set as
Pre out, the Pre/REC Out can be used to drive an active subwoofer which usually has a stereo input and a proper input level control.
The PRE/REC Output mode is set by placing two jumper on the board in the proper positions. Please refer to the pictures below for
the jumper positions and settings.
Electrical specifications: The output impedance both in REC mode and Pre mode is of 470R. the maximum peak to peak voltage is
30Vpp.
Note: Note that when the Pre/Rec Out is set as pre Out the preamplified signal is output with a maximum gain of about 20dB (at maximum volume
level) and a maximum peak voltage of 15V. Therefore the active subwoofer input attenuator must be set properly to match the sub audio
level with the Fortissimo IA level on the stereo loudspeakers. Also the active subwoofer input circuit must be able to manage a 15V
peak input signal.
16
Notes on CD, AUX1, AUX2 inputs
The CD, AUX1, AUX2 inputs are all standard stereo inputs.
Electrical specifications: The maximum allowed voltage is of: 9Vrms, while the maximum unclipped voltage is of: 3.5Vrms. The input
impedance is of: 60KOhm.
Note sugli ingressi: CD, AUX1, AUX2.
Notes on AUX3/Bypass input
The AUX3/Bypass input is a standard stereo analog input but can also be set in ByPass mode. The ByPass mode is very useful in case
you connect the Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier to a stereo or multichannel audio/video system. To set up the input in ByPass
mode you have to enter the proper procedure, see further for details. When AUX3/Bypass is set in ByPass mode, the Fortissimo
behaves as a power amplifier when such input is selected. Therefore the gain is fixed and equal to 36dB. Is possible to modify the
fixed gain in a range of +/-10dB. Changing the gain is very useful in case you are using a multi-channel audio video system where
you drive the Front Left and Front Right channel with the Fortissimo while driving the other channels (the surrounds for
example) with the audio video integrated amplifier. In fact in such cases to effectively recreate the stage you have to match the
Fortissimo gain with the audio video integrated amplifier gain. Usually the audio video integrated amplifier has a menu page
where the gain on the different channels are matched but such regulation could be too low to have the Fortissimo matching the
other channels gain. Therefore in such cases you can set properly the Fortissimo gain properly by its own gain regulation or
combining the two different regulation.
Electrical specifications: The maximum input allowed voltage is of: 9Vrms, while the maximum unclipped voltage is of: 3.5Vrms. The
input impedance is of: 60KOhm.
Note sull'ingresso AUX3/Bypass input
Notes on Digital Optical input
The Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier digital optical input accepts SPDIF digital signals with 16-24 bit and with a sample
frequency until 108KHz. If the digital audio signal is correctly working the Blue led indicating the source has been selected is turned
on. Instead if there is a problem with the digital signal (such as if the digital signal is not a SPDIF one or in the case of an unlock
condition) or there is no signal at all, the led will be blinking. Entering the proper procedure, it is possible to set the optical input in
ByPass Mode. This means that the Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier will behave as a power amplifier on that input with a fixed
gain of 36dB. This can be very useful to connect the Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier to an audio/video system when the
audio/video equipment has an optical digital SPDIF output that carries the Left and Right (front) channels with a controlled volume
17
level. In this scenario you can connect the audio/video equipment to the Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier via the optical digital
connection. Therefore the digital to analog conversion will be performed by the Fortissimo inner Dac section that is a high
quality one. In this way there is no electrical connection between the Fortissimo and the Audio/Video Equipment and this is
very useful to avoid interference. From this point of view the optical connection is the best compared to the digital coaxial and the
analog connection. The Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier has a gain in Bypass mode of 36dB but you can change it in a range of
+/-10dB. Changing the gain is useful in case you are using a multi-channel audio video system where you drive the Front Left and
Front Right channel with the Fortissimo while driving the other channels (the surround for example) with the audio video
integrated amplifier. In fact in such cases to effectively recreate the stage you have to match the Fortissimo gain with the audio
video integrated amplifier gain. Usually the audio video integrated amplifier has a menu page where the gain on the different
channels are matched but such regulation will not impact the digital output. Therefore in such cases you can use the
Fortissimo gain setting. Also, the audio video integrated amplifier could have the regulation on the channel gain setting too low
to have the Fortissimo matching the other channels gain. Therefore also in such cases you can properly set the Fortissimo
gain by its own gain regulation. Note that in case the audio/video equipment does not have a volume controlled digital optical output,
it is not possible to manage the Fortissimo in ByPass mode on the Optical input. Therefore if you want to use the
Fortissimo optical input for the connection you have to use the Fortissimo to regulate the volume level. Otherwise you
can connect the Audio/Video equipment with the analog Aux3/ByPass input setting the unit in ByPass mode and connecting the Aux3/ByPass
inputs to the analog front left and front Right outputs of the audio video multichannel equipment or to the Left and Right analog
output of the stereo audio/video equipment. Obviously the optical digital audio input can be used in the standard way connecting a
digital source and using the Fortissimo in standard mode (not ByPass). In such cases typical sources can be a Blue ray player,
a DVD player or a CD Player or any other audio digital source having proper digital audio stereo optical output (such as a TV set or a
entertainment console).
Note sull'ingresso ottico digitale
fino a 108KHz.
settare l'ingresso digitale ottico in modalità ByPass.
e Right.
In
Pertanto in
analogico Aux3/ByPass settato in ByPass.
Notes on digital coaxial input
The Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier digital coaxial input accepts SPDIF digital signals with 16-24 bits and with a sample frequency
until 108KHz. If the digital audio signal is correctly working the Blue led indicating the source has been selected is turned on. Instead
if there is a problem with the digital signal (such as if the digital signal is not a SPDIF one or in case of an unlock condition) or there
is not signal at all, the led will be blinking. Entering the proper procedure is possible to set the coaxial input in ByPass Mode. This
means that the Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier will behave as a power amplifier on that input with a fixed gain of 36dB. This
can be very useful to connect the Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier to an audio/video system when the audio/video equipment
has a coaxial digital SPDIF output that carries the Left and Right (front) channels with a controlled volume level. Therefore the digital
to analog conversion will be performed by the Fortissimo inner DAC section. The Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier has a
gain of 36dB in Bypass mode, but you can change it in a range of +/-10dB. Changing the gain is very useful in case you are using a
18
Notes on SPDIF output
The Fortissimo IA has a SPDIF digital output on which the selected digital input is supplied. When an analog input is selected the
SPDIF output gives the following outputs:
• when the AUX1 analog input is selected the SPDIF output gives the digital Optical input.
• when the AUX2 analog output is selected the SPDIF output gives the USB digital out.
This feature permits to connect an external DAC to the Fortissimo SPDIF output and the use of the external DAC (supposed
to be of higher quality then the inner Fortissimo Digital to analog conversion circuit) to convert the signal in the analog domain.
19
Note sull'uscita SPDIF
segnale analogico, l’SPDIF Out fornisce le seguenti uscite:
Notes on the USB connection
The USB connection permits you to connect the Hi-Fi system to the PC or MAC. In this way the PC/MAC sees the Fortissimo
IA as its audio board and everything which is played on the PC/MAC is reproduced by Fortissimo IA. This opens up a wide
spread of possibilities which we think will be soon appreciated by every, also “old style”, audiophile:
• Listening to tracks in any format (MP3, WMA, FLAC, APE and so on…..) which you have in your PC via a software player.
• Listening to an on-streaming tuner. On the web there are a lot of tuner stations which transmit on-streaming, so a lot of
stations from everywhere in the world can be listened to.
• Listening to audio movie tracks which are playing on the PC.
When connecting the Fortissimo to the PC/MAC an initialization is required and this could need some minutes because the
PC/MAC detects the new device and finds and installs the required software drivers. For example, if a Windows operative system is
used, when the Fortissimo IA is connected the first time to the PC, the message “Find New Hardware” will be shown on the PC
monitor and then the procedure to find and install the required drivers will be started by the PC. The initialization completion must be
waited for and a message “Your new hardware is installed and ready to use” will be shown at the end. While the PC/MAC is finishing
the initialization or if some error is detected on the USB connection (for example if there is an unlock state or there isn't any signal on
the USB connection) the USB input led will be blinking. See below an example of the messages that will be shown for the Windows
operative system. After the USB connection is active every sound from your PC or MAC will be played by the Hi-Fi system. So by
using any audio/video player on your PC/MAC you’ll be able to play the music on your PC/MAC on the Hi Fi system.
Another very interesting feature performed by the Fortissimo IA's USB connection is that it also transmits the preamplified
audio signal to the connected PC/MAC. This means that the Fortissimo IA's preamplified signal is converted into digital domain
by the Fortissimo Analog to Digital section and sent in this digital form via the USB to the PC/MAC. This makes the system
PC/MAC + Fortissimo IA a true high level recording station and this opens you a wide range of very interesting and useful
applications. In fact using one of the common free software applications dedicated to PC/MAC recording (such as Audacity) you will
be able to record any audio signal reproduced by the Fortissimo IA. For example:
• transfer on your PC/MAC hard disk your LPs taking advantage of the high quality pre phono stage of the Fortissimo IA
• transfer on your PC/MAC hard disk your music cassettes.
To save on the PC/MAC such audio material is very interesting not only because it lets you listen to your music without the risk of
damaging the music support, but it also lets you transfer such music to any different support and listen to it in different systems and
environments. For example you could easily create a CD from an LP and then listen to it in your car, or you can easily load the music
on a portable player...
Please also note that many of the software dedicated to recording have features inside that let you clean the registered signal in
different ways. We have decided to supply the preamplified signal on the USB connection because this permits you to use all the
dynamic range of the Analogue to digital converter and get the best Signal to Nose ratio. The recording software will usually have a
level bar to set the Fortissimo volume making the most of the available dynamic range without corrupting the signal with
clipping. It may happen that the volume level for the best dynamic causes the loudspeakers, according to their efficiency, to have an
overly high volume, therefore we suggest inserting the headphones because it will cause the loudspeaker to be muted while you can
still listen to what is happening.
Note sulla connessione USB
• Ascoltare Web Radio in streaming.

Note on Headphones output
When a jack is inserted in the front headphone connector the power stages are disconnected from the loudspeakers therefore there
is no sound coming from them. If the Headphones are removed the power stages are connected to the loudspeakers and the music
is reproduced by the loudspeakers again. The headphone stage gain has been designed to give about the same sound level of the
loudspeakers for an equal volume level, but of course it depends on the sensitivity of the loudspeakers and headphones used.
Therefore the equal level cannot be reliably consistent.
Nota sull’uscita cuffie
Note on Trigger In Input
The Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier has a Trigger IN Input which can be used to allow the integrated amplifier to be switched on by
an other unit such as the Crescendo CD Player. To switch on the Fortissimo IA Integrated Amplifier with the Trigger In you have to
supply 12VDC volts into the connector with the proper polarity (refer to the drawing on the back panel).
Warning: the maximum input current allowed is 160mA (a fuse inside the unit protects the Tigger In circuit). To switch on and off the
Fortissimo IA Integrated Amplifier by the trigger connection leave the main power supply button placed on the front panel in
the off state otherwise the Trigger can't control the unit.
Nota sull’Ingresso Trigger In
Trigger IN).
controllare l'apparecchio.
Advice on using the Fortissimo Integrated Amplifier
It is preferable to turn the unit off when unused and to unplug it from the outlet when unused for long periods and during lightning
and electrical storms. Avoid using small metallic objects around the unit because they could fall inside the unit.
Avoid leaving the unit on if unused.
metallo di piccole dimensioni vicino all'apparecchio perché potrebbero cadere all'interno.
Volume settings and silencing (mute)
The volume knob on the front panel and the volume control buttons on the remote change the general sound level. It means that the
volume of the two channels is altered identically.
The mute button on the remote controller allows you to set the audio level to zero. This function is useful any time you have to
suddenly turn down the volume, such as when you have a phone call, when you are talking or when you are changing the CD in the
player. When the unit is in MUTE mode, the volume leds start blinking. Mute deactivation will restore the previous volume settings.
Input selection
It is possible to select the desired audio input by pressing the Volume/Select knob on the front panel or by pressing the input control
buttons on the remote controller. In this way the inputs are cyclically selected. Otherwise you can use the numeric switches on the
remote to directly select an input. For such purpose set the remote controller in AMP mode. Then simply by pressing one of the
numeric switches as indicated below you can select the desired input:

three central volume leds will blink because a confirmation is required to activate the selection. If you don't want to activate the
selection or go on selecting another source press the input control switches on the remote or push the front knob or select the
desired input pressing the corresponding numeric switch on the remote set in AMP mode. While if you want to activate the selected
input in ByPass mode confirm the selection pressing the Amp Standby switch on the remote. Then the three central leds will turn on
continuously.

ByPass Selection/Activation
ByPass mode gain setting
Phono Stage gain setting
The functions, depending on which, are accessed by: the remote (using the switches: “SETUP”, “FUNC AMP” and “AMP MODE”) or
by the "SELECT" on the front knob. According to the parameter to be set the procedures use some of the following remote switches:
“VOLUME+”, “VOLUME –“, “IN+”, “IN-“ and “STANDBY AMP”. The procedure to set the volume scale and that to enable the ByPass
mode are accessed by the "SELECT" on the front panel while the other procedures are accessed by the remote.
All the settings are memorized in the controller and are loaded again when the unit is turned on. Therefore the settings are not lost
when switching off the equipment.
23
Note: some procedures use special remote switches, the use of these is available only if the remote is in "AMP" mode. Therefore set
the remote in "AMP" mode before performing any configuration.
Tali procedure riguardano:
Volume scale selection
You can choose between 4 different volume scale (A, B, C, D). This permits you to choose the volume scale to match the
loudspeakers sensibility. The procedure is described below:
- When the equipment is turned on and the volume level is zero (no led lighted), keep the front knob pushed
(SELECT function) for some seconds until the volume leds and one of the input front led turns on as reported in
the picture below. (The input led turned on can be one of the following led: OPT, USB, COAX, INPUT. The
picture reports the USB led as an example).
- then use the remote switches: “VOLUME +” and “VOLUME –“ to select the desired volume scale.
- Push the "SETUP" switch remote to: memorize the selected volume scale, exit the Volume scale selection
procedure and return the normal operation condition. Otherwise push the "SELECT" switch knob on the front
panel to not modify the volume scale, exit the procedure and return to the normal operation mode.
Below the different volume scales are reported.
Note: the selected volume scale is memorized and loaded until an other one is selected.

BALANCE setting
This function permits to balance the two channels by 1dB steps for a maximum of 7dB. The procedure to change such parameters is
the following:
- While unit is working at the usual volume, push the "SETUP" switch on the remote until the volume leds are
lighted as described in the picture below. The picture shows the state of a central reproduction (that's say no
imbalance between the two channels). The input led indicates the same input selected at the moment you have
entered the procedure.
- Then use the "VOLUME+" switch of the remote to attenuate the left channel compared to the right one and use
the "VOLUME-" switch on the remote to attenuate the right channel compared to the Left one. The central led
lighted will move to the left or right according to the imbalance.
Ex. led state: no un-balance
Ex. led state: right un-balance of 4dB
Ex. led state: left un-balance of 7dB
Push the "SETUP" switch on the remote to exit the procedure and return the normal operation mode. The unbalance set in the procedure will be memorized in the controller.
-
26
Led brightness setting
Three different front led brightness level are available. The brightness setting is applied both to the volume leds and to the input leds.
The three options are:
MAX Brightness (maximum brightness)
MID Brightness (mean brightness)
Dark Mode (no led lighted)
-
MAX
MID
Dark Mode
The default brightness is the max. While the unit is in "Dark mode" all the leds on the front panel are turned off until a command by
the remote or by the front control is sent. Then the volume leds and the input led turns on for about a second showing the state of
the unit. To modify the brightness push the "AMP MODE" switch on the remote (with the unit turned on). Every time the switch is
pushed the LED mode as shown in the picture will vary cyclically.
-
MAX
MID
Dark Mode
ByPass Selection/Activation
The “AUX3/BYPASS“ input can be set as line input but can also be set in By-Pass. Also the COAXIAL digital inputs and the OPTICAL
digital input can be set in ByPass mode. Once the ByPass mode is enabled on one of the above inputs, when the Fortissimo IA
selects such input it enters the mute state and the three central volume leds start blinking. This is to avoid damage to the
loudspeakers in case the ByPass function was erroneously enabled. In fact, when in bypass mode, the input is amplified with the
maximum gain. To effectively select the input and activate it the user has to confirm the selection pushing the “STANDBY AMP”
switch on the remote.
-
-
When the unit is turned off, push the knob on the front panel (SELECT function) and at the same time switch on
the unit by the front main switch. After about a second one of the inputs that can be set in ByPass mode (that's
say “AUX3/BYPASS“, “OPT” or “COAX” ) will start blinking and the three central volume leds will show the ByPass
state on that input according to the following:
• if the three leds are blinking it means that the input has not been set in ByPass mode.
• if the three central leds are continuously lighted it means that the input has been set in bypass
mode (see the picture below where the state of the three central led is shown and is reported the
AUX3/BYPASS input as example).
Use the “VOLUME+” switch remote to enable the ByPass mode on the input (then the three central volume leds
will be lighted continuously) and push the “VOLUME-” switch on the remote to disable the ByPass function on
the input (then the three central volume leds will start blinking).
Use the "IN+" and "IN-" switches on the remote to cyclically change the input that can be set in ByPass mode
and set the mode for the desired inputs.
27
-
To confirm and memorize the set ByPass configurations for all the three inputs push for some seconds the
switch “STANDBY AMP” on the remote until exiting the procedure. In such a way the ByPass setups are
memorized for each input.
To cancel what was done in the procedure and not memorize the settings, push the "AMP SETUP" switch on the
remote
Notes:
-
-
If the By-Pass mode hasn't been enabled on a certain input the Fortissimo IA will behave on that
input like an integrated amplifier. While if the ByPass mode has been enabled on a certain input the
equipment will ask the user to confirm and then according to the user’s response the equipment will behave
as a power amplifier with its maximum gain for the input.
For each input set in ByPass mode it is possible to change the gain in a range of +/-10dB.
The ByPass activation procedure is the most hidden and difficult to enter to avoid unwanted settings.
You can set one or more of the inputs in ByPass mode that can manage such modes.
To not confirm the ByPass mode on a bypass mode set input simply skip to a different input.
-
-
NOTE:

28
ByPass mode gain setting
This function permits the user to change the gain on the input that is set in ByPass mode. This gain can be changed in the range of
+/-10dB with a step of 2dB. The procedure is as follows:
- Set the remote in AMP mode. While the equipment is working select and confirm the activation of the input set in
ByPass mode for which you want to change the gain (the input will be one between: “AUX3/BYPASS“, ”OPT” and
“COAX”). Then press the switch "FUNC AMP" on the remote and at the same time press one of the switches
“VOLUME+” or “VOLUME-“ on the remote until the front leds change their state in the way described by the
picture below. The picture below shows the condition where no gain modification is applied compared to the
standard gain, as an example the digital optical input is reported.
- Push the “FUNC AMP” switch of the remote at the same time of the "VOLUME+" switch on the remote to
increase the gain on the selected input At every push of the button the gain is incremented of 2dB and a led on
the right of the central volume led is lighted.
- Push the “FUNC AMP” switch of the remote at the same time of the "VOLUME-" switch on the remote to
decrease the gain on the selected input. At every pressure the gain is decreased of 2dB and a led on the left of
the central volume led is lighted.
Ex. led state: gain unchanged, default: 0dB variation
Ex. led state : 4dB gain increment
Ex. led state: 8dB gain decrement
-
Push the switch "AMP SETUP" on the remote to exit the procedure and come back to the normal equipment
operation.
Notes:
- The "FUNC AMP" switch on the remote is enabled if the remote is in AMP mode. To check the remote mode is sufficient to
shake the remote and see if the red switch "AMP" at the top right of the remote lights on.
- You can change the gain of the input only if the ByPass mode has been set on such input previously.
-
29
Phono Stage gain setting
The procedure permits the user to change the phono stage gain in the range of +/-10dB. The gain is varied in 2dB steps. Such
changes to the gain level are applied if the unit is set in MM mode and also if it is set in MC mode.
- While the equipment is working with the PHONO input selected and the desired volume level set, set the remote
in "AMP" mode, press the switch: "FUNC AMP" on the remote and at the same time press one of the switches
“VOLUME+” or “VOLUME-“ on the remote until the front leds change their state in the way described in the
picture below. The picture below shows the condition where no gain modification is applied.
- Push the “FUNC AMP” switch of the remote at the same time of the "VOLUME+" switch on the remote to
increase the gain on the selected input. At every pressure the gain is incremented by 2dB and a led on the right
of the central volume led is lighted.
- Push the “FUNC AMP” switch of the remote at the same time of the "VOLUME-" switch on the remote to
decrease the gain on the selected input. At every pressure the gain is decreased by 2dB and a led on the left of
the central volume led is lighted.
Ex. led state: default gain: 0dB variation
Ex. led state: 4dB gain increment
Ex. led state: 8dB gain decrement
-
Push the switch "AMP SETUP" on the remote to exit the procedure and go back to the normal equipment
operation.
Note: the "FUNC AMP" switch on the remote is enabled if the remote is in "AMP" mode. To check the remote mode is sufficient, shake the remote
and see if the red switch at the top right of the remote lights

Alarms
In case of malfunction conditions the control will disconnect the loudspeakers and will remove the power stage input
signal.
To show the user the alarm condition the Fortissimo IA uses specific blinking led configurations.
In case of an alarm condition we recommend to turn off the unit as soon as possible by the front main switch.
When the unit is in protection mode no operation is allowed.
The conditions that cause the unit to enter protection mode are: DC OFFSET on the loudspeaker outputs,
OVERCURRENT and too high power stage temperature.
Below the led configurations used to indicate the different alarms are shown:
DC Offset Alarm: shows one blinking led and one led turned off
Over Current Alarm: shows two blinking leds and two leds turned off
Temperature Alarm: shows three leds blinking and three leds turned off
