2. Reconnect the foot and head sections as shown
in Figure 2.
3. Connect the six hooks to the foot spring fabric
with the open end of the hooks facing the floor.
4. Attach one helical spring to one end of the link
fabric extension (Figure 3). Attach the other end
of the helical spring to one of the two mounting
holes in the 4-inch extender.
5. Connect the hooks to the link fabric extension.
6. Attach another helical spring to the other end of
the link fabric extension
7. Fasten the helical spring into the mounting hole
on the 4-inch extender using vice grips (Figure 4).
8. Repeat for the other link fabric extension.
9. Raise the head end of the bed and connect the
hooks to the head spring fabric with the open
end of the hooks facing the floor (Figure 5).
10. Reattach head and foot boards to the bed
assembly.
11. Install the extended connecting rod included in
your kit.
12. Remove the bed’s existing head spring drive tube
and replace it with the drive tube included in your
kit. Reconnect the drive tube to the lift arm of the
head spring by inserting the clevis pin and connecting the grommet, washer and hitch pin.
IMPORTANT WARNINGS
Inspect all parts for damage to the carton or its
contents. If damage is evident, do not use.

Make sure all attaching hardware is tightened
securely at all times.
The 4-inch bed extender does not increase the
weight capacity of your bed. Refer to your bed
user’s manual for weight capacity information.
BED DISASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect hi/lo connecting rod from the bed.
2. Disconnect head spring drive tube by removing
the hitch pin, grommet and washer from the
clevis pin.
3. Raise the head end and unhook the links
between the head and foot sections of the
mattress surface.
4. Remove the head and foot boards.
5. Laying the bed on its side, place the head section
at a right angle (90 degrees) to the foot section.
6. Disengage head and foot sections.

Required
two 1/2" open-end wrenches
one vise grip
Attach the 4-inch extension pieces to both sides
of the foot spring center angle with the bolt and
bi-way locknut and tighten securely (Figure 1).
