INSTALLATION
Carefully select the installation location for the handset.
Plan the installation so that the handset’s location is within
convenient reach of the user, but will not interfere with the
vehicle’s operation. Also, consider seating, leg space, and
the operation of other vehicle accessories. The location
chosen for a handset should be similar to the location
chosen for a standard mobile microphone and hang-up clip.

English
The HMN4098 Telephone Handset provides a convenient

English
An airbag inflates with great force.
DO NOT place objects, including
communication equipment, in the area
over the airbag or in the airbag
deployment area. If the communication
equipment is improperly placed and the
airbag inflates, this could cause serious
injury.
If mounted on an insecure or hollow
mounting surface, the bracket could
loosen, and the unit could break free on
collision. Mount the bracket only in a
location which allows the self tapping
screws to solidly anchor into a metal
surface.
The mounting screws can damage
cables and wires that run under some
mounting surfaces in the vehicle. Be
careful to avoid mounting the bracket
above those locations.

English
Once an installation location has been decided, refer to
Figure 1 and perform the following steps:
1. Verify that the selected mounting surface is strong
enough to support the mounting hardware and handset.
2. Using the base of the adjustable angle bracket as a
template, mark the desired mounting location. Remove
the bracket and center punch the spots previously
marked. Replace and realign the bracket in the
previously marked areas. Secure the brackets using the
self-drilling screws #10-16 x 1” long screws provided.
Be careful not to damage any wires or any other vehicle
components when drilling the holes.
3. Use the four #10-16 x 1” tapping screws and the
internal lockwashers provided to mount and secure the
bracket.
4. Place the hang-up cup on the bracket as shown in
Figure 1. Secure the hang-up cup to the bracket using a
T-20 Torx-head driver to the enclosed M4 x 10 mm
screw and M4 nut.
5. Select the angle between the two bases of the
adjustable angle bracket (from 0° to 110°) and tighten
the two adjusting screws.
