PP The following installation instructions include excerpts from the current instruction manual for the PS xx.x Excellent Inverters listed above and the BWP 30HS/HSD Hot Water Heat Pump. PP Read the instruction manuals of the associated devices carefully through first, and note the corresponding references in this manual! This manual only describes the process of connecting the respective devices, and does not replace their own detailed instruction manuals! PP PP PP PP DANGER Risk of death if not professionally installed! Improper installation may result in serious injury or death. Furthermore, electrical components may be damaged, resulting in an increased fire hazard. DANGER Risk of death by electrical shock! Naked live wires must be avoided at all costs to prevent the risk of electrical shock, electrical arcs and short circuits. Only strip as much cable insulation as is necessary. The insulation must reach all the way to the terminal. Any dropped metal slivers coming into contact with live components during operation may cause an electrical arc to occur, posing a life-threatening hazard. 20 Check the devices and wires are at zero potential. Ensure clean installation: No dirt, foreign objects or moisture may be allowed to enter the devices. In particular, for all work on the inverter and its supply lines: Switch the device to zero potential on both the AC and DC side. Ensure that the power supply cannot be unintentionally switched on again. Wait at least five minutes to ensure that all capacitors in the inverter have discharged. Prior to installation, check that the local mains supply and the output of the photovoltaic modules correspond to the inverter’s technical specifications. See the specification plate. Follow the specified installation sequence: First install the inverter securely, then make the electrical connections. Follow all VDE safety guidelines, all national regulations in the country where the installation is carried out, and the connection and safety regulations of the local utility company. If the insulation of single insulated cables for communication components is damaged, they may come into contact with components carrying mains voltage. If using the Cenpac plus Heat-Shifter, connect the supplied signal cable (or similar double insulated LiYCY 2x1mm² cable). 4 Installing the CENPAC plus HeatShifter 4.1 Installation site The Cenpac plus Heat-Shifter features a pre-installed safety plug (Type F, CEE 7/4) with a 2 m long cable. Ensure that an appropriate grounded outlet is available near the installation site (~230 V, 50 Hz). To ensure proper signal transmission, a maximum cable length of 10 m to the inverter and heat pump must also be maintained. cable cannot be unintentionally pulled out, for example, by children. The Heat-Shifter should be installed at an appropriate height in regions prone to flooding. 4.2 Installation Mark the drill hole positions on the installation site by using the rear side of the Cenpac plus HeatShifter housing as a drilling template. The device is intended to be installed in indoor areas only. The ideal installation site is as cool and dry as possible (basement, for example). The Heat-Shifter must be installed in a fixed location. It is not intended for portable use. Note the following conditions when selecting the installation site: PP PP PP PP PP PP PP PP Do not install the Heat-Shifter near highly inflammable materials or in areas where an explosion hazard exists. The installation surface must be stable enough to support the weight of the Heat-Shifter. Plasterboard and wooden lagging is not suitable as an installation surface! The inverter is intended for installation on a vertical wall. The device must not tilt more than 10° to the left or right, or more than 60° to the back. The device may not be allowed to tilt forwards or installed in a horizontal position. The environmental temperature must be between 0°C and +40°C. The maximum permissible humidity is 90% relative humidity (noncondensing). To ensure sufficient cooling, at least 200 mm of free space must remain around the HeatShifter. If installing the Heat-Shifter in an enclosed space, for example, in an electrical cabinet or a small room, ensure that hot air is drawn out through a forced ventilation system. Figure 5: Opening the Cenpac plus Heat-Shifter Drill the holes and insert, if necessary, the supplied Ø6x50 universal plastic wall plugs. Screw the housing onto the installation surface. Use the supplied Phillips wood screws if appropriate for the installation surface. The Heat-Shifter should remain accessible in case any work is necessary at a later point in time. The display and specification plate should be recognisable and legible. Install the Heat-Shifter in a location where the 21 5 Connecting the inverter avoid unnecessary plugging and unplugging. PP 5.1 Switching off the inverter A current version of the Powerstocc Excellent Inverter Instruction Manual can be found under: www.centrosolar.com The inverters feature an integrated DC circuit breaker, marked in Position 6 in Figure 6. PP PP PP PP Disconnect the inverter from the mains using the circuit breaker switch. Ensure that the power supply cannot be switched on again while working. Allow the device to cool down. Wait at least five minutes to ensure that the capacitors in the inverter have completely discharged. Check that all connectors are at zero potential. Then remove the cover by loosening the screws. 5.2 Connecting the signal cable to the inverter Note: There are currently two inverters available, with two different communication boards installed. The Cenpac plus Heat-Shifter is designed to be connected to the switching output labelled in Position 1. Use cable ties to fasten all cables to the slots on the guard plate. Ensure that all cables follow a direct path along the guard plate and do not protrude over the side of the guard plate. Warning! The communication board can be damaged by electrostatic discharge. Then strip and insulate the ends of the strands to prepare them for connection to the switching output. Note: In order to ensure reliable signalling, do not exceed a maximum cable length of 10 m. Use the cable opening for optional communication, marked in Position 7 in Figure 6, to insert the signal cable. The switching output (S0/AL-OUT terminal, Position 1 in Figures 8 and 9) has different functions depending on the configuration. For more information, see the section entitled ‘Configuring the switching output function’ in the current version of the Powerstocc Excellent Instruction Manual or the brief description in this manual. Recommended tightening torques: 1.5 Nm (M12) and 8 Nm (M25). Check to make sure that all cables sit firmly and cannot come loose on their own. Remove any foreign objects (tools, pieces of wire, etc.) from the inverter. Replace the cover and screw it tight. 5.4 Switching on the inverter Observe the switch on sequence: PP PP Ensure that the DC circuit breaker is set to OFF. Then reconnect the strings or DC connectors to the inverter. If this is the first time the inverter is to be used, enough sunlight must be present to generate a DC input voltage at the inverter of at least 180 V. Turn the DC circuit breaker ON, as shown in Figure 11. 23 Figure 11: DC circuit breaker ON Connect the mains power using the circuit breaker switch. Note: See all further notes in the Switching on the inverter section in the current version of the Powerstocc Excellent Instruction Manual. 5.5 Configuring the switching output function The switching output is configured using the Web server integrated in the inverter. Connect the inverter to a computer as described in the current version of the Powerstocc Excellent Instruction Manual. Configure the computer’s Ethernet interface (TCP/ IP protocol) so that the IP address and DNS servers are determined automatically. Administrator rights may be necessary to make these settings. Figure 12: Web server main page (the number of inputs and outputs may vary depending on the device type) Click the ‘Settings’ link. The ‘Settings’ page appears. Start your Web browser and enter the letter S followed by the serial number of the inverter, for example: http://S12345FD323456 The Web server login window appears. Enter your username and password. The username and password are factory set as follows: Username: pvserver Password: pvwr Confirm by clicking OK. The inverter main page appears. Figure 13: Settings page 24 The ‘Switching output function’ setting specifies if the switching output should be used as an S0 interface, as an alarm output or to switch consumer loads. Set the switching output function to ‘S0 Pulse’. Click ‘Apply’ to save your settings. 6 Connecting the heat pump The BWP 30HS/HSD may only be used for the purpose specified by the manufacturer. A different or broader interpretation of the purpose is not considered to be the intended purpose. This includes consideration of the included product guidelines and all warnings. Do not attempt changes or modifications to the device that are not included in this manual. A current version of the installation and usage instructions can be found under: www.dimplex.de The hot water heat pump is pre-wired and ready for connection. The power supply is connected by plugging the power cable into a grounded outlet (~230 V, 50 Hz). This outlet must remain accessible after installation is complete. 6.1 Connecting the signal cable to the heat pump Cut the included two-core signal cable to the desired length. Then strip and insulate the ends of the strands to prepare them for connection to the terminals. Remove the front cover from the hood. To do so, loosen the two screws on the lower side of the front cover. The plastic hood on the hot water heat pump must be removed. Insert the prepared signal cable through a free screwed cable conduit. Feed the wire through to the terminal strip shown in Figure 14, located on the ventilator side of the separating plate. Connect the signal cable to terminals X1/A3-1 and X1/A3-2. The signal cable must not be tensioned. Note: In order to ensure reliable signalling, do not exceed a maximum cable length of 10 m. Replace the hood and front cover and screw it tight. 7 Connecting the Cenpac plus HeatShifter Ensure that the device is not connected to the power supply during all installation work. Remove the front cover from the Heat-Shifter. To do so, remove the four screws from the top of the cover. Pass the included signal cable through the highstrength cable conduits marked in Positions 2 and 3 in Figure 15. Figure 15: Cenpac plus Heat-Shifter cable conduits 1. Connect the signal cable for the heat pump (shown in red in Figure 16) to the terminals C1 and NO1 in terminal block J3. 8 Initial operation The Cenpac plus Heat-Shifter is pre-wired and ready for connection. The power supply is connected by plugging the power cable into a grounded outlet (~230 V, 50 Hz). This outlet must remain accessible after installation is complete. The first main screen (H.1) will appear after connecting the power supply. Screw all union nuts together with the sealing ring tight over the cable screw connection. Recommended tightening torque 1.5 Nm (M12). Check to make sure that all cables sit firmly and cannot come loose on their own. Remove any foreign objects (tools, pieces of wire, etc.) from the Heat-Shifter. Operation of the heat pump with power from the photovoltaic system is shown on the display. Special operation Photovoltaic operation regulated based on the target value configured for the heat pump. Can be read from the last year-end invoice from the energy supplier, for example.) - Orientation (Orientation of the photovoltaic generator) - Roof angle (Angle of the photovoltaic generator) - Country - Location (Nearest location) - Date/Time 9.3 Heat pump operation Resets the device to factory settings after entering the password. Password: 3421 You can program cut-off times for pure heat pump operation to preferentially use power from your photovoltaic system for water heating. Use cut-off times to allocate reheating periods following hot water extraction to the time of day with plenty of sunlight! Configuring cut-off times allows you to block operation of the BWP 30HS/HSD. Two independent cut-off times can be programmed. The individual cut-off times are activated as soon as the hour or minutes value is not equal to zero. During the cutoff times, the storage can be held at a minimum temperature to avoid any loss of comfort. During these cut-off times, it is possible to use electrical energy from your photovoltaic system for water heating based on the signal from the Cenpac plus Heat-Shifter. Guarantee claims may only be pursued if the installation and initial operation of the photovoltaic system and the Cenpac plus Heat-Shifter can be proven to have been carried out by a qualified specialist. Guarantee claims are excluded under the following circumstances: The product contains a battery, which must be separated from the rest of the product according to the following instructions before disposal. Improper usage or disposal may have negative consequences for human health and the environment. Locally mandated public or private disposal systems must be used for disposal.
