Yokogawa cannot accept any liability for any damage
or loss, directly or indirectly, caused by unauthorized
work on Instruments or the application or use of
Instruments outside the scope of the Instrument’s
specification; in addition, any warranty issued by
Yokogawa becomes void. Instruments that are not of
the type ordered, or are damaged or incomplete shall
not be installed or used; in such situations you should
contact your supplier.
WARNING
This document lists the Safety Basics for the
handling, installation, operation and servicing
of specific relevance to Yokogawa ATEX Ex
(note 1)
and/or PED (note 2) instruments (hereinafter
referred to as “Instruments”). Please read
this document carefully and comply with the
instructions. Instruments which are not installed
and/or used in accordance with the information
provided in this document and the USER’S
MANUAL may not be safe, thereby giving cause
to a risk of explosion, damage to installations
and/or the environment, and/or hazards to
persons (note 3).
Handling, shipment and storage
Information for product buyers, handlers,
transporters, ...
j Some Instruments have a weight or form of
packaging which gives cause to the need for special
precautions to avoid injuries or accidents when
lifting or transporting the units; always comply
with your company regulations on safe working
practices;
j Store Instruments in their packaging until
installation; treat the units with care, and avoid
shocks and vibrations;
j Store Instruments in their packaging in a dry place
(RH 5..80%) and at a moderate temperature (-30 to
+70 °C) (note 4).
General information and
compliance notes
These high quality Instruments (Field Equipment) are
designed for installation in industrial environments and
intended for professional use. These Instruments need
to be installed and configured by competent staff prior
to use by the end user. On delivery these Instruments
do not offer readily available end-user functionality.
Information about the handling and installation of the
Instruments is given in the accompanying USER’S
MANUAL; an English version (“original instructions”)
is enclosed with the Instruments.
NOTE
Some types of Instruments can be stored in
more extreme conditions. When Instruments
have to be stored in a location under conditions
that are likely to fall outside the above limits then
always consult the USER’S MANUAL and verify
that the Instruments can be stored in the relevant
conditions.
USER’S MANUALS for the Instruments are also
available in Dutch, French, German, Italian and
Spanish (“translation of the original instructions”).
Please contact your supplier if you need a copy in one
of these languages, or if the USER’S MANUAL is not
enclosed with the Instrument.
All specific information about user functionality that
Yokogawa issues for the Instruments is generic for the
relevant Instruments. Dedicated settings for a given
application can affect the functional behaviour.

Installation and commissioning
Service
Information for system integrators, technicians, ...
System integrators, technicians etc., must have a
command of the language of the USER’S MANUAL
sufficient to understand the contents. In addition, the
following issues need specific attention:
Information for (de-)commissioning, service staff, ...
j Instruments must be (de-)commissioned and
serviced solely by authorized and competent
personnel. Safe working practices/regulations must
be observed at all times;
j All modifications to Instruments or replacement of
parts must be carried out by trained and authorized
Yokogawa Electric Corporation staff. Failure to
comply with this requirement voids all certification;
j Verify that subsequent to replacement/repairs the
specific settings for the application (can be) restored
and that Instruments will continue to perform in the
customary manner. When this is not possible the
user must be informed of any changes;
j On decommissioning Instruments make sure that
they do not contain any hazardous process residues.
Dispose of products in accordance with the local
legislation and company regulations;
j When contacting the supplier always state the
following information:
• The name of the Instrument,
• The ‘MODEL’, ‘SUFFIX’ and ‘STYLE’,
• The serial number ‘NO.’.
This information is stated on the nameplate (see
example below for a DPharp EJA Transmitter).
j The Instruments must be installed solely in
situations and for purposes which comply with the
Instruments’ general specifications and certificates,
and must be installed and commissioned in
accordance with the instructions given in the
relevant USER’S MANUAL;
j When unpacking Instruments verify that they meet
the specific needs, are complete, and are undamaged
(visual inspection); damaged Instruments must not
be installed or commissioned;
j After installation/commissioning make sure
that the end user receives information about the
specific functionality for the application and the
Instrument’s settings;
j On the release of the Instruments’ functionality to
the end-user for operations make sure that the enduser is also issued this document, all other specific
documents accompanying the Instruments, relevant
information about the installation/commissioning
of the Instruments and any information, where
relevant, about interactions with other systems or
equipment.

j All persons who are to use these Instruments must
be thoroughly familiar with the specific settings for
the application, the enabled functionality and, where
relevant, any operational risks;
j Users must contact their system integrator or

L-informazzjoni speċifika kollha dwar il-funzjonijiet li
l-utent jista’ jwettaq bl-iStrument li Yokogawa toħroġ
għall-iStrumenti hija waħda ġenerika għall-iStrumenti
relevanti. Settings dedikati għal applikazzjoni
partikolari jistgħu jaffettwaw l-imġiba funzjonali.
TWISSIJA
Dan id-dokument jelenka l-Affarijiet Bażiċi dwar
is-Sigurtà għall-maniġġ, installazzjoni, tħaddim
u għoti ta’ servis ta’ relevanza speċifika għal
strumenti Yokogawa ATEX Ex (nota 1) u/jew PED
(nota 2)
(minn hawn iżjed ‘il quddiem issir referenza
għalihom bħala “Strumenti”). Jekk jogħġbok
aqra dan id-dokument b’attenzjoni u obdi listruzzjonijiet. Strumenti li mhumiex installati
u/jew użati skond l-informazzjoni provduta
f’dan id-dokument u fil-MANWAL GĦALLUTENT jistgħu ma jkunux sikuri, b’hekk jistgħu
jagħtu lok għal riskju ta’ splużjoni, ħsara għallinstallazzjonijiet u/jew għall-ambjent, u/jew għal
periklu għan-nies (nota 3).
Yokogawa ma tista’ taċċetta ebda responsabbiltà għal
kwalunkwe ħsara jew telf, dirett jew indirett, ikkawżat
minn xogħol mhux awtorizzat fuq l-iStrumenti jew
applikazzjoni jew użu ta’ l-iStrumenti barra mill-iskop
ta’ l-ispeċifikazzjoni ta’ l-iStrument; barra minn hekk,
kwalunkwe garanzija maħruġa minn Yokogawa taqa’.
Strumenti li mhumiex tat-tip ordnat, jew li fihom ħsara
jew li mhumiex sħaħ ma għandhomx jiġu installati jew
użati; f’sitwazzjonijiet bħal dawn għandek tikkuntattja
lill-fornitur tiegħek direttament
Maniġġ, trasbord u ħżin
Informazzjoni għax-xerrejja ta’ prodotti, maniġġaturi,
trasportaturi, ...
j Xi Strumenti għandhom piż jew għamla ta’
imballaġġ li jitolbu ċerti prekawzjonijiet speċjali
sabiex jiġu evitati korrimenti u aċċidenti meta
jintrefgħu jew meta jinġarru unitajiet; dejjem
ikkonforma mar-regolamenti tal-kumpanija tiegħek
dwar prattiċi ta’ ħidma mingħajr periklu;
j Xi Strumenti fl-imballaġġ tagħhom sa linstallazzjoni; ittratta l-unitajiet b’attenzjoni, evita
daqqiet u vibrazzjonijiet;
j Aħżen l-iStrumenti fl-imballaġġ tagħhom f’post
xott (RH 5..80%) u f’temperatura moderata (-30 sa
+70 °C) (nota 4).
Dawn l-iStrumenti (Apparat tal-Qasam) ta’ kwalità
għolja huma maħsubin għal użu professjonali. Dawn
l-iStrumenti jeħtieġu jiġu installati u kkonfigurati
minn personal kompetenti qabel jintużaw mill-utent
aħħari. Malli jaslu, dawn l-iStrumenti ma joffrux
funzjonalità li tkun disponibbli dak il-ħin lill-utent
aħħari. Informazzjoni dwar il-maniġġ u l-installazzjoni
ta’ l-iStrumenti hija mogħtija fil-MANWAL GĦALLUTENT li jiġi ma’ l-iStrumenti; verżjoni bl-Ingliż
(“struzzjonijiet oriġinali”) tiġi ma’ l-iStrumenti.
MANWALI GĦALL-UTENT għall-iStrumenti huma
disponibbli wkoll bl-Olandiż, Franċiż, Ġermaniż, Taljan
u Spanjol (“traduzzjoni ta’ l-istruzzjonijiet oriġinali”).
Jekk jogħġbok ikkuntattja lill-fornitur tiegħek jekk
tixtieq kopja f’waħda minn dawn il-lingwi, jew jekk
il-MANWAL GĦALL-UTENT ma jkunx ġie ma’
l-Istrument.

Xi tipi ta’ Strumenti jistgħu jinħażnu
f’kundizzjonijiet aktar estremi. Meta l-iStrumenti
jkollhom jinħażnu f’post b’kundizzjonijiet li
jistgħu jkunu barra mil-limiti, dejjem għandek
tikkonsulta l-MANWAL GĦALL-UTENT u
tivverifika li l-iStrumenti jistgħu jinħażnu filkundizzjonijiet relevanti.
ATEX Ex: Direttiva 94/9/KE dwar apparat u sistemi
ta’ protezzjoni maħsubin sabiex jintużaw f’ambjenti li
fihom hemm ir-riskju ta’ splużjoni.
PED (“aċċessorji ta’ pressjoni”): Direttiva 97/23/KE
dwar aċċessorji ta’ pressjoni.
Strumenti bil-marka CE jaqgħu ukoll fl-iskop tadDirettiva 2006/95/KE (LVD) u/jew tad-Direttiva
2004/108/KE (EMC). Hemm aktar informazzjoni fid“EC Declaration of Conformity”.

Servis
Informazzjoni għal integraturi, teknixins, ... tas-sistema
Integraturi, teknixins eċċ. tas-sistema, għandu jkollhom
kmand tal-lingwa tal-MANWAL GĦALL-UTENT
biżżejjed sabiex jifhmu l-kontenut. Barra minn hekk,
dawn il-kwistjonijiet jeħtieġu attenzjoni speċifika:
Informazzjoni għal personal li jagħti servis jew li
jwaqqaf l-iStrument mill-użu, ...
j Strumenti għandhom jitwaqqfu u jingħataw servis
biss minn personal awtorizzat u kompetenti.
Prattiċi/regolamenti ta’ ħidma mingħajr periklu
għandhom jiġu osservati l-ħin kollu;
j Il-modifikazzjonijiet kollha fuq l-iStrumenti jew
is-sostituzzjoni ta’ partijiet għandhom isiru minn
personal ta’ Yokogawa Electric Corporation
imħarreġ u awtorizzat. Jekk dan ir-rekwiżit ma jiġix
osservat, kull ċertifikazzjoni taqa’;
j Ivverifika li wara sostituzzjoni/tiswija, is-settings
speċifiċi għall-applikazzjoni jkunu jistgħu jiġu kif
kienu u li l-iStrumenti jibqgħu jaħdmu bil-mod
normali. Meta dan ma jkunx possibbli, l-utent
għandu jiġi infurmat bi kwalunkwe tibdil;
j Malli l-iStrumenti jitwaqqfu mill-użu, agħmel żgur
li ma jkunx fihom residwi ta’ proċessi perikolużi.
Armi l-prodotti skond il-leġiżlazzjoni lokali u skond
ir-regolamenti tal-kumpanija;
j Meta tikkuntattja lill-fornitur, dejjem agħtih din
l-informazzjoni:
• L-isem ta’ l-Istrument,
• Il-‘MODEL’, ‘SUFFIX’ u ‘STYLE’,
• In-numru serjali ‘NO.’.
Din l-informazzjoni hija mogħtija fuq il-plakka ta’
l-isem (ara taħt bħala eżempju għal DPharp EJA
Transmitter).
j L-iStrumenti għandhom jiġu installati biss
f’sitwazzjonijiet u għall-għanijiet li jikkonformaw
ma’ l-ispeċifikazzjonijiet u maċ-ċertifikati ġenerali
ta’ l-iStrumenti, u għandhom jiġu installati u wżati
skond l-istruzzjonijiet mogħtija fil-MANWAL
GĦALL-UTENT relevanti;
j Meta tkun qed tneħħi l-iStrumenti mill-imballaġġ,
ivverifika li dawn jissodisfaw il-ħtiġijiet speċifiċi,
huma sħaħ, u li ma fihomx ħsara (spezzjoni visiva);
Strumenti bi ħsara ma għandhomx jiġu installati
jew użati;
j Wara installazzjoni/użu, agħmel żgur li l-utent
aħħari jirċievi informazzjoni dwar il-funzjonalità
speċifika għall-applikazzjoni u s-settings ta’ lIstrument;
j Mar-rilaxx tal-funzjonalità ta’ l-iStrumenti lill-utent
aħħari għall-operazzjonijiet, agħmel żgur li l-utent
aħħari jinħareġ ukoll b’dan id-dokument, biddokumenti speċifiċi kollha li jiġu ma’ l-iStrumenti,
informazzjoni relevanti dwar l-installazzjoni/użu
ta’ l-iStrumenti u kwalunkwe informazzjoni, fejn
relevanti, dwar l-interazzjonijiet ma’ sistemi jew
apparat ieħor.

Informazzjoni għall-utenti aħħarija, operaturi, ...
j Il-persuni kollha li jkunu se jużaw dawn liStrumenti għandhom ikunu familjari sew massettings speċifiċi għall-applikazzjoni, il-funzjonalità
attivita u, fejn relevanti, kwalunkwe riskju
operattiv;
j L-utenti għandhom jikkuntattjaw lill-integratur jew
lill-fornitur tas-sistema tagħhom meta l-iStrumenti
jew kwistjonijiet relatati oħra ma jissodisfawx listenniji.

under mer ekstreme forhold. Når instrumentene
må lagres på et sted under forhold som
antageligvis faller utenfor de ovennevnte grenser,
sjekk da alltid BRUKSANVISNINGEN og bekreft
at Instrumentene kan oppbevares under de
relevante forholdene.
