WARNING - IT IS IMPORTANT FOR THE SAFETY OF PERSONS
TO FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS
1° - This instruction booklet is exclusively dedicated to specialized staff who are aware of
the construction criteria and of the accident prevention protection devices for motorized
gates and doors (according to the current regulations and laws).
2° - Keep the automatic control (push-button, remote control, etc) out of the reach of children.
The control systems must be installed at a minimum hight of 1.5m from the ground surface
and not interfere with the mobile parts.
3° - Before starting any installation and operation or maintenance work make sure to cut off
power supply by turning the general magnetothermic switch off.

1 - CHECKING BEFORE THE INSTALLATION
!! THE GATE SHALL MOVE FRICTIONLESS !!
N.B.: Gate features must be uniformed with the standards and laws in
force.
The guide must be provided with two mechanical stops at its ends (12)
(Fig. 2).
Gate columns shall have anti-derailment guides on their top (Fig. 3), to
avoid the unintentional gate release.
N.B.: Eliminate those mechanical stops of the kind described by figure 3.
No mechanical stop shall be on top of the gate, since mechanical stops
are not safe enough.

TECHNICAL FEATURES
Irreversible operating devices for sliding gates with a maximum weight of 2.200
Kg/4900lbs.
The irreversibility of this operating device allows you to avoid using any electric lock for
an effective closing of the gate. The motor is protected by an heat probe, that temporary
interrupts the operating cycle in case of prolonged use.

In order to work manually on the gate, you just need to insert the fitting key and rotate It
3 times counterclockwise (Fig. 4).

The rack shall be fitted over the motor support, at a certain distance from It.
Its height can be adjusted thanks to the holes In the rack.
The height is adjusted to prevent the gate from resting on the driving gear of the K as it
moves (Fig. 5,6).
To fix the rack on the gate, drill some Ø 5 mm holes and thread them using an M6 screw
tap.
The driving gear needs some 1 mm clearance from the rack.

In order to determine the travel of the moving part, place two cams at the ends of
the rack (Fig. 7).
Move the cams on the rack teeth to adjust their opening and closing travel.
To fix the cams to the rack, tighten the screws issued.
N.B: In addition to the electric stop cams mentioned above, you must also install strong
mechanical stops preventing the gate from sliding out of the top guides.

MAINTENANCE
To be carried out exclusively by skilled persons after the power supply to the
motor has been interrupted.
Periodically clean and keep the guide free from stones when the gate is standstill.

TORQUE - ELECTRONIC TORQUE REGULATOR
The torque is regulated by rotating the Trimmer TORQUE, varying the output voltage of
motor ends,(when rotated clockwise, more torque Is transmitted to the motor).
Such torque Is automatically Included 3 seconds after the start of every operating cycle.
This allows the motor to have the maximum pickup when it starts.
ELECTRONIC BRAKE (suggested operation)
If DIP 10 is ON, the system shall brake once the total opening or closing have been
carried out, so to avoid the inertia that would damage the gear In the event of an Impact
against the mechanical stops.
GRADUAL START (suggested operation)
If DIP 11 is ON, a gradual movement is enabled at every operation start.
This function is not active after the encoder or another safety device detects an obstacle.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
FOR THE INSTALLATION
1° - Install a thermal magnetic switch (omnipolar, with a minimum contact opening of 3
mm) before the control board, in case this is not provided with it. The switch shall be
guaranteed by a mark of compliance with international standards.
2° - As far as the cable section and the cable kind are concerned, RIB suggests to use
an NPI07VVF cable, with a minimum section of 1,5mm2, and to follow, In any case,
the IEC 364 standard and Installation regulations In force In your Country.
N.B.: THE SYSTEM MUST BE GROUNDED
Data described by this manual are only Indicative and RIB reserves to modify them at
any time.

5 - CHECKING THE ROTATION DIRECTION OF THE MOTOR
This control is carried out to facilitate the installation of the system or any possible future
control.
SAFETY ENCODER (KPLUS)
It serves as a safety device both during opening and on closure, with movement
reversion.
DIP 7 (ON) operates the motor with encoder.
If the Encoder does not work (due to a failure In the power supply, disconnected wires,
broken or defective disk), the gate Is not operated.
If the encoder operates the closing or the opening and than gives a reverse command, the
gate stops and reverses Its movement for 1 second. The buzzer buzzes to alarm for 5
minutes and the blinker blinks for 1 minute.
During or after the 5 minutes, when the buzzer alarms, you can make the gate work again
just pressing the operating button you want.
1 - After you positioned the limit switch cams on the rack, (Fig.7 page 4), set Dip1 on
mode ON. The LED DL5 starts blinking.
2 - Press and keep the button PROG. (the gate is now controlled with manned operation:
open-stop-close-stop-open-etc.). THE GREEN LED DL6 “OPEN” turns on and the
gate opens and stops after having reached the limit switch cams. If this does not
happen, release the button and invert the two cables of the motor.
3 - Press the button PROG. and keep it. THE RED LED DL7 “CLOSE” turns on and the
gate closes and stops after it reaches the limit switch cams.
4 - At the end of the control, position DIP1 on mode OFF. The LED DL5 turns off,
signalling you exit from the control.
NB: The encoder and the photocells are not active during this control.
6 - TIMING
K PROGRAMMING WITH ENCODER (K PLUS)
The programming can be carried out regardless of the gate position.
1 - Position the micro switch Dip 2 on mode ON => the LED DL5 emits short blinkings.
2 - Push the button PROG. => the gate opens closes and opens automatically 2 seconds
after It closed. When the opening cycle Is terminated, It stops. Wait as long as you
want the gate to remain open (excluded by DIP3 OFF)
3 - Push the button PROG. to command the gate closing (also the pause time count
before the automatic closing stops - max. 5 minutes).
4 - The gate stops as the closing cam is reached.
5 - WHEN THE TIME PROGRAMMING IS COMPLETED, POSITION DIP 2 ON MODE OFF.
If the INVERTER card is connected to the KPLUS with the KS, the card automatically
controls its slowing-down on approaching and you can also control the operator speed
(read the Instructions enclosed to the INVERTER card).
K PROGRAMMING WITHOUT ENCODER (K)
NB: DIP7 SHALL BE ON MODE OFF!!
This programming is the same as that shown by the previous paragraph.
By connecting the INVERTER card to K with KS, this automatically controls its slowingdown when approaching, and you can also determine the speed of the operating device
(read the instructions enclosed to the INVERTER card).
OPERATION OF THE OPERATING ACCESSORIES
OPENING BUTTON (with timer function)
When the gate is standstill, the button operates the opening mode. If you push this button
when the gate is on closure, It opens again.
TIMER FUNCTION
This function is useful In the rush hours, when vehicle traffic is slow (e.g. entry/exit of
workers, emergencies In residential or parking areas and, temporary, for removals).
APPLICATIONS
By connecting a switch and/or a daily/weekly timer (in place or in parallel with the opening
button N.O. “COM-OPEN”), it is possible to open the automation or to keep It open, as
long as the switch is on or the timer is activated.
When the automation is open, all operating functions are inhibited.
If the automatic closing Is started, by releasing the switch or at the time set before, the
automation immediately closes; if not, you need to operate a command.
CLOSING BUTTON (COM-CLOSE)
When the gate Is standstill, It operates the closing.
JOGGING OPERATION BUTTON (COM-K BUTTON)
If DIP5 is OFF => It cyclically commands open-stop-close-stop-open-etc.
If DIP5 is ON => It opens the gate when this Is closed. If It Is operated while the gate Is
opening, It has no effect. If It Is operated when the gate is open, it closes the gate and, If It
Is operated while the gate Is closing, It opens the gate again.
RADIO TRANSMITTER
If DIP4 is OFF => It cyclically commands open-stop-close-stop-open-etc.
If DIP4 is ON => It opens the gate when this is closed. If It Is operated while the gate Is
opening, It has no effect. If It Is operated when the gate Is open, It closes. If It Is operated
while the gate Is closing, It opens the gate again.
AUTOMATIC CLOSING
Pause times before the automatic closing of the gate are set with the timing procedure.
The maximum pause time Is 5 minutes.
Pause time can be started or stopped by DIP3 (ON started).
PHOTOCELL 1 (COM-PHOT 1))
If DIP 6 is OFF - The gate does not open if there Is an obstacle within the photocells
range of action.
During operation, photocells work both when the gate opens (by starting the opening
movement again after half a second time), and when It closes (by starting the reverse
movement after one second time).
If DIP 6 is ON - If there Is an obstacle within the photocells range of action when the gate
is closed and its opening Is commanded, the gate opens (during Its opening, photocells do
not work).
Photocells work only while the gate Is closing (by starting Its reverse motion after one
second, even if they are still engaged).
STOP BUTTON
The STOP button stops the gate during any operation.
If you push it when the gate is totally open (or partly open, by using the pedestrian
command), this button temporary excludes the automatic closing (if selected by DIP3 and
DIP9). It Is than necessary to operate another command to make the gate close again.
The automatic closing function Is enabled again with the following operating cycle (if
selected by DIP3 and DIP9).
BLINKER
N.B.: This electric board can supply power ONLY TO BLINKERS WITH (ACG7059)
BLINKING CIRCUIT, with max. 40W lamps.
PRE-BLINKING FUNCTION:
- With DIP8 on OFF => the motor, the blinker and the buzzer start at the same time.
- With DIP 8 on ON => the blinker and the buzzer start 3 seconds before the motor.
BUZZER (Optional)
The buzzer emits an intermittent sound signal during opening and closing cycles.
When safety devices are operated (alarm), the intermittence frequency of this sound
signal Increases.
WARNING LIGHT - GATE OPEN (COM-SIGNAL):
Its function Is to signal when the gate Is open, partly open or not totally closed anyway. It
turns off only when the gate Is totally closed.
This warning signal is not enabled during the programming procedures.
N.B.: If you overuse the push button panels or the lamps, the control board logic
system may be compromised, resulting into a possible operation block.

TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROL
When the gate is closed, the traffic light is turned off.
The red light (3-4) turns on when the gate opens.
The green light (5-6) turns on when the gate is open and the red light turns off.
The green light remains turned on until the automatic closing starts.
When the gate closes, the green light turns off and the red light turns on.
INVERTER CARD (ACG9201)
!! REMOVE THE MOTOR CAPACITOR !!
Connect the motor wires directly to the INVERTER card (lead blue=>terminal U).
The INVERTER allows for => the thrust force adjustment, the gradual start, the

PEDESTRIAN OPENING BUTTON (10-12)
This command operates the partial opening of the gate and Its closing. When the gate Is
partly open, it is not possible to operate its total opening using the pedestrian command.
It is first necessary to close the gate than to open it totally.
It enables exclusively the pedestrian opening and closing following the jogging mode
(open-stop-close-stop-etc...).
LEARNING PROCEDURE FOR THE PEDESTRIAN OPENING
When the gate is closet and the closing limit switch is engaged
1 - First position the DIP2 on mode ON (the LED DL5 blinks quickly) and then DIP1
on mode ON (The LED DL5 blinks slowly).
2 - Press the pedestrian button (10-12) => The sliding gate opens.
3 - Press the pedestrian button to stop the travel (thereby determining the gate opening).
4 - Wait the time you want the gate to remain open (excluded by DIP9 on OFF), then
press the pedestrian button to start the closing.
5 - Position DIP1 and 2 on mode OFF after the closing limit switch has been reached.
Safety devices are active during the programming and their intervention stops it (the LED
blinks no more but remains constantly turned on).
To repeat the programming, position DIP1 and 2 on mode OFF, close the gate and
repeat the procedure described above.
HEATER CARD (ACQ9092)
This device controls the heating of the operating device when this is installed in places
with very low temperatures.

AUTOMATIC PEDESTRIAN CLOSING
Pause times before the automatic pedestrian closing of the gate are set during the
programming procedure.
The max. pause time is 5 minutes.
You can start or stop the pause time using DIP9 (ON starts).
PHOTOCELL 2 (9-12)
If it detects an object during the opening cycle, it then operates the closing of the gate at
the end of the interposition. If it detects one during the closing cycle, it then operates the
opening at the end of the interposition.
This function is particularly helpful when you want the gate to close immediately after you
passed it. If it is not used, jumper the terminals 9-12.
COURTESY LIGHT (7-8)
It is possible to supply 24Vac power to the coil of a relay, so as to feed one lamp or more
for a minimum period of 1 second and for a maximum period of 4 minutes (controlled by
the TR trimmer fitted on the EXPANDER card).
The relay is activated at every opening or closing.
When the closing Is finished, the traffic light turned off.
