Teksmart Fitness LLC WARRANTS TO YOU, THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER, THAT THE PRODUCT WILL

BE FREE FROM DEFECTS IN MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR FROM

THE DATE OF PURCHASE. IF YOU DISCOVER A DEFECT COVERED BY THIS LIMITED WARRANTY AND

RETURN THE PRODUCT TO US, WITH PROOF OF PURCHASE, WE WILL REPAIR OR REPLACE THE

PRODUCT, AT OUR OPTION, USING NEW OR REMANUFACTURED COMPONENTS.

Certain Product failures not covered

This Limited Warranty covers defects in manufacturing that arise from the correct use of the

Product according to the product manual and instructions. It does not cover damage caused by abuse,

misuse, accidents, modification or repair by any person other than Teksmart, moisture, extreme heat

or cold, corrosive environments, high voltage surges from external sources or an unsuitable power

supply. This Limited Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear on consumable items (e.g. pads,

garments, etc.). This Limited Warranty does not apply to any battery provided with the Product, or if

the Product has an altered or defaced serial number.

To obtain service under this Limited Warranty, please refer to our website at

www.thecontour.com for return instructions. Proof of purchase is required. Teksmart will not be

responsible for the cost of returning the Product or for any damage to or loss of the

Product while it is in transit to us. We recommend that you use a carrier that will track your

shipment and insure the Product’s safe delivery. Teksmart cannot accept any returns sent C.O.D.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE ONLY WARRANTY FOR THE PRODUCT, AND THERE ARE NO OTHER

EXPRESS WARRANTIES, ORAL OR WRITTEN, PROVIDED BY TEKSMART. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES

APPLICABLE TO THE PRODUCT, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS

FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.

Limitation of Remedies

YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, IN LIEU OF ALL INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY,

SPECIAL OR OTHER DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING FOR NEGLIGENCE, IS LIMITED TO THE

REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE PRODUCT, IF DEFECTIVE, UNDER THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.

Teksmart will bear no other expenses. Teksmart reserves the right to refuse to repair or

replace the Product if it is returned in an unsanitary condition. This Limited Warranty

applies only to the Product as used in the United States. It is not applicable in other

countries. Teksmart reserves the right to substitute a product of equal or better quality if an identical

product is not available at the time of replacement. This Limited Warranty is non-

transferable. Some states do not allow limitations on the duration of implied warranties, or the

exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, and so the related limitations and

exclusions stated above may not apply to you. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC

LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS, WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.

INDICATIONS FOR USE/INTENDED USE

The Muscle Stimulator is intended to stimulate healthy muscles in order to

improve or facilitate muscle performance. The Muscle Stimulator may

therefore be considered a technique or method for muscle training.

The Muscle Stimulator Ab Belt accessory is intended for use on abdominal

muscles only for strengthening and toning of abdominal muscles.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use the Muscle Stimulator if you have one or more of the following

medical conditions:

1. Cardiac demand pacemakers

2. Epilepsy

3. Following acute trauma or fracture

4. Following recent surgical procedures

5. Critical ischemia of lower limbs

6. Abdominal or inguinal hernia

7. Cancerous lesions

SAFETY SECTION

This section contains important safety information requires that you read

and understand all warnings, precautions, and the user’s manual prior to

using the Muscle Stimulator.

WARNINGS

Your Muscle Stimulator is suitable for use by all healthy adults. The

Muscle Stimulator Ab Belt and stimulator is not intended for minors,

unless under the care and direction of a doctor, as the safety of electrical

muscle stimulation in children has not been established.

As with other forms of exercise, some care is needed when using the

Muscle Stimulator. Consult your physician before use if you have any

injuries or conditions not mentioned in this manual.

KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.

Place the pads and belts ONLY on your muscles as indicated in this

manual.

External use only

Do not use the Muscle Stimulator on the same muscle group in continuous

sessions. Wait at least six (6) hours between sessions

Never use the Muscle Stimulator on:

• painful muscles

• muscles with spasms

• any muscle associated with a painful or afflicted joint

Do not use the Muscle Stimulator:

• for muscle reeducation

• to prevent or retard disuse atrophy

• to prevent venous thrombosis

• to maintain or increase range of motion

• for muscle spasms

• for blood flow deficiencies

Simultaneous connection of a patient to high-frequency surgical

equipment may result in burns at the site of the electrodes and possible

damage to the stimulator.

Do not apply stimulation in the presence of electronic monitoring

equipment (e.g., cardiac monitors, ECG alarms), which may not operate

properly when the electrical stimulation device is in use.

Operation in close proximity (e.g. 1 yard) to shortwave or microwave

therapy equipment may produce instability in the stimulator output.

Applications with electrodes near the rib cage may produce heart

ventricle fibrillation.

Application of electrodes near the thorax may increase the risk of

cardiac fibrillation.

An injury could occur if device drops on toe, foot, etc.

DO NOT APPLY ELECTRODES:

On the carotid sinus nerves, particularly in patients

with a known sensitivity to the carotid sinus reflex.

• On the neck or mouth. Severe spasms of the laryngeal

and pharyngeal muscles may occur with contractions

strong enough to close the airway and/or cause

difficulty in breathing. Stimulation over the neck

could also have an adverse effects on the heart rhythm or

blood pressure.

Transcerebrally. Stimulation should not be applied across the head and

electrodes should not be placed on opposite sides of the head

Over swollen, infected or inflamed areas of skin eruptions

(e.g., phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, etc.)

Transthoracically; introduction of electrical current into the heart may

cause rhythm disturbances, which could be fatal.

Over, or in proximity to, cancerous lesions.

Over a tumor or malignancy as it may promote cell growth.

Over metal implants.

If you are in any doubt about using your Muscle Stimulator for any

reason, please consult your doctor before use.

PRECAUTIONS

Long-term effects of chronic electrical stimulation are unknown.

Apply electrodes ONLY to normal, intact, clean, dry skin.

Persons with suspected heart problems or epilepsy should obtain

appropriate medical advice.

Safety of powered muscle stimulators for use during pregnancy has not

been established.

Caution should be used for patients with suspected or diagnosed heart

problems.

Caution should be used for patients with suspected or diagnosed epilepsy.

Before using the Contour Ab Belt wait until:

• Six weeks after you give birth

• One month after an IUD contraceptive device has been fitted (consult

your doctor before use).

• Three months after having a caesarean section (consult your doctor

before use)

Caution should be used in the presence of the following:

When there is a tendency to hemorrhage following acute trauma or

fracture;

Following recent surgical procedures when muscle contraction may

disrupt the healing process;

Over the menstruating or pregnant uterus;

Over areas of the skin which lack normal sensation.

Some patients may experience skin irritation or hypersensitivity due to the

electrical stimulation or electrical conductive medium. Irritation can

usually be reduced by using an alternate conductive medium or alternate

electrode placement.

Electrode placement and stimulation settings should be based on the

guidance of the manufacturer.

Powered muscle stimulators should be used only with the leads and

electrodes recommended for use by the manufacturer.

Plug lead-wires into muscle stimulator only.

Portable powered muscle stimulators should not be used while driving,

operating machinery, or during any activity in which involuntary muscle

contractions may put the user at undue risk of injury.

Never use the Muscle Stimulator while sleeping.

Never immerse the Muscle Stimulator in any liquid.

Never use the Muscle Stimulator in the bath or shower.

Never use the device in a humid atmosphere (sauna, bathroom, etc.).

The Muscle Stimulator has an ingress protection rating of IPX0, which is

not protected against harmful ingress of water.

Not suitable for use in presence of a flammable anesthetic mixture with

air or with oxygen or nitrous oxide.

Environmental conditions for transport and storage specified in accom-

panying documents and marked on packaging (min temp and humidity).

Do not stand while you are stimulating the lower body as it may cause you

to fall.

The Muscle Stimulator Ab Belt, Muscle Stimulator and gel pad electrodes

are to be used by a single person only.
