Allen-Bradley PCI Riser Card Installation Instructions
The Allen-Bradley PCI Riser Card is designed for use with ASEM 6300 industrial computers. It allows you to install expansion cards into your ASEM 6300 system by providing an additional PCI slot. This riser card is easy to install and use, and it is compatible with a wide range of expansion cards. It includes two thumb screw for secure mounting.

Prepare for Installation
Follow these steps to prepare for installation of the PCI riser card.
1. Complete the steps in the Prepare for Maintenance and Service section
from the user manual for your particular industrial computer model listed
in Additional Resources.
2. Complete the steps in the Remove the Cover section from the
user manual for your particular industrial computer model listed in
Additional Resources.
3. Loosen the thumb screw from the chassis of your industrial computer,
then slide the thumb screw to the to the left.
4. If an expansion card and riser is installed, proceed to
Remove the Existing Expansion Card and Riser.
Otherwise, proceed to Install the PCI Riser Card.
Remove the Existing Expansion Card and Riser
If your industrial computer has an expansion card and riser already installed,
follow the procedure below for removal.
1. From the inside of the chassis, use a screwdriver to remove the screw
from the expansion card.
2. Remove the expansion card from the riser.
3. Remove the two fixing screws from the riser.
4. Remove the riser from its slot.
The slot is now available to install the PCI riser card.

Install the PCI Riser Card
Perform the steps below to install the PCI Riser Card, Cat. No. 6300V-PCIRISER.
1. Insert the PCI riser card into the available slot.
2. Tighten the two screws on each side of the PCI riser card.
3. Insert the expansion card into the installed PCI riser card.
4. Use a screwdriver to tighten the fixing screw on the expansion card.
5. Slide the thumb screw on the chassis of your industrial computer to the
right.
6. Hand-tighten the thumb screw to secure the PCI riser card in place.
7. Complete the steps in the Reinstall the Cover section from the
user manual for your particular industrial computer model listed in
Additional Resources.
8. Complete the steps in the Post-configuration section from the
user manual for your particular industrial computer model listed in
Additional Resources.
