Frequently Answers and Questions
How do I connect my edge node to the network?
Connect an Ethernet cable from port Eth1 on the Edge node to a managed switch. Ensure the managed switch has access to a DHCP server along with an active path to the Internet for HTTPS traffic. Refer to the manual for additional guidance.
What is the 'Onboarding Key' and where can I find it?
The Onboarding Key is a unique identifier for your edge node. It is printed on the box and on the device label as 'ONBOARDING KEY'. You will need this key to onboard your edge node into FactoryTalk Edge Manager.
How do I activate my edge node after onboarding?
Ensure that the 'Activate Edge Node' checkbox is selected when you add the edge node. If the checkbox is not selected, you will need to activate the edge node manually from the detailed view screen.
