1 Press the center select key (s) (MENU) to open the menu.

2 Use the navigation key (S) to scroll to

C MESSAGING.

3 Press the navigation key (S) down to scroll to Chat, and press the center select key (s) (OK) to select it.

1 Press the center select key (s) (MENU) to open the menu.

2 Press the center select key (s) to select

New Contact.

3 With the cursor in the First Name entry area, press keypad keys to enter the entry’s first name.

4 Press the navigation key (S) down to scroll to the Last Name entry area, and enter the last name.

5 Enter one or more phone numbers for the entry.

To enter a mobile phone number, scroll to the Mobile 1 entry area and enter the number.

To enter a work phone number, scroll to the Work entry area and enter the number.

To enter a home phone number, scroll to the Home entry area and enter the number.

6 To enter an email address, scroll to the

Email 1 entry area and enter the address.

7 To add the entry to a group, scroll to the

Group entry area and press the left soft key ( -) (Set). Then scroll to the group you want and press the center select key (s) (OK).

8 To assign a picture ID to the entry, scroll to the Picture entry area and press the left soft key ( -) (Set) to go to MY PICTURES.

Scroll to the desired picture and press the center select key (s) (OK).

Your phone will display this picture when you receive a call from this entry.

9 To assign a distinctive ringtone to the entry, scroll to the Ringtone entry area and press the left soft key (

-) (Set) to go to

MY RINGTONES. Scroll to the desired ringtone and press the center select key (s) (OK).

Your phone will play this ringtone when you receive a call from this entry.

Note: Master Volume must be set to High,

Med High, Med, Med Low, or Low (see page 39).

10 If desired, enter numbers in the Mobile 2 and/or Fax entry areas, or an email address in Email 2.

11 Press the center select key (s) (SAVE) to save the entry information.

While entering a number, press the right soft key (

+) (Options), then select one of the following:

2-Sec Pause—Your phone pauses for two seconds before it dials the next digit.

Wait—Your phone waits until the call connects, then prompts you for confirmation before it dials the next digit(s).

assign picture to entry

When you assign a picture to a Contacts entry, your phone displays that picture when you receive a call from the entry.

RINGTONES menu. Select Get New Ringtones, then proceed to download and save a ringtone.

set default number for entry

Set the default number for a Contacts entry with multiple numbers:

1 Press the center select key (s) (MENU) to open the menu.

2 Press the navigation key (S) down to scroll to Contact List, and press the center select key (s) (OK) to select it.

3 Scroll to the entry and press the left soft key ( -) (Edit). Scroll to the number to be set as the default number and press the right soft key (

+) (Options), then scroll to Set As Default and press the center select key (s) (OK).

add entry to group

Tip: You can add a Contacts entry to a group while editing that entry by scrolling to Group and pressing ( -) (Set).

1 Press the center select key (s) (MENU) to open the menu.

2 Press the navigation key (S) down to scroll to Groups, and press the center select key (s) (OK) to select it.

3 Scroll to the group name and press the right soft key ( +) (Options), then scroll to

Add and press the center select key (s) (OK). On the Add Contacts screen, scroll to each contact you want to add and press the center select key (s) (OK).

4 When you are finished adding contacts to a group, press the right soft key (

+) (Done).

When you send a message to a group list, the message goes to all entries in that group.

Add a new group as an entry on the Groups screen:

1 Press the center select key (s) (MENU) to open the menu.

2 Press the navigation key (S) down to scroll to Groups, and press the center select key (s) (OK) to select it.

3 Press the left soft key ( -) (New). Enter the name for the new group and press the center select key (s) (SAVE).
