Frequently asked questions

Connect the 9V battery cable to the pins on the left side of the unit (when looking at the display), and then attach a standard 9V battery to the cable. Rotate MODE SELECT to the parameter to be programmed. Press and hold the RESET/PROGRAM button and rotate the DISPLAY/PROGRAM knob until the proper setting is displayed. Release the RESET/PROGRAM button.

RD1 provides protection against short cycling and allows adequate cool-down time between motor starts. RD2 is used to restart the motor after a trip due to current unbalance, current single-phasing, or an overcurrent condition. RD3 initiates after an undercurrent trip and is used to allow the well to recharge in pumping applications.

Disconnect power, hook up the three line voltages to L1, L2, and L3, program the desired parameters, construct a test circuit that simulates a ground fault condition. Place the unit in RUN mode, apply 3-phase power, and energize the test circuit until the unit trips. The display should show “GrF” and the NO contacts should be open.
