BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Read each step thoroughly before proceeding.

REMOVE FREEZER DOOR

1. Remove all food from the inner door liner.

2. Tape the door shut with masking tape.

IMPORTANT NOTES

When reversing the door swing:

• Read the instructions all the way through before starting.

• Handle parts carefully to avoid scratching paint.

• Set screws down by their related parts to avoid using them in the wrong places.

• Provide a non-scratching work surface for the doors.

IMPORTANT: Once you begin, do not move the cabinet until door-swing reversal is completed.

These instructions are for changing the hinges from the right side to the left side—if you ever want to change the hinges back to the right side, follow these same instructions and reverse all references to left and right.

5HPRYHWKHKLQJHFRYHURQWRSRIWKHIUHH]HU door with a thin-blade screwdriver.

5HPRYHWKHWKUHHVFUHZVZLWKDƎVRFNHW and ratchet, then lift the hinge straight up to free the hinge pin from the socket in the top of the door.

5. Remove the tape and tilt the door away from the cabinet. Lift it off the center hinge pin.

6 Remove the hole covers with a putty knife on the opposite side of the three hinges.

7. Set the door on a non-scratching surface with the inside up.

DOOR

1. Remove all food from the inner door liner.

2. Tape the door shut with masking tape.

3. Remove the center hinge pin with a Phillips screwdriver.

4. Remove the center hinge by removing two

Socket and ratchet, remove the 2 screws from the bottom hinge.

2. Move the bottom hinge pin from the right to the left side with a thin-blade screwdriver until the shoulder of the hinge pin is touching the hinge.

3. Move the bottom hinge from the right to the left side and tighten the 2 screws.

,QVWDOOWKHKROH plugs from the opposite side of the cabinet to the screw holes vacated by the bottom hinge removal.

5. Remove the tape and tilt the door away from the cabinet. Lift the door straight up to free its bottom socket from the pin in the bottom hinge bracket.

6. Set the door on a non-scratching surface with the inside up.

,QVWDOOWKHKROHSOXJVIURPWKHRSSRVLWHVLGH of the cabinet to the screw holes vacated by the center hinge removal.

4. Remove the plug button from the surface of the right side of the refrigerator door and insert the fastener with a Phillips screwdriver.

1. Remove the two screws securing the bottom end of the handle with a Phillips screwdriver and remove the GE Appliances badge.

2. For Plastic handles: Pull handle down and off of the fastener on the door.

5. For Plasic handle:

Attach handle to fresh food door on fastener and slide downward to lock in place with the screws at the top of the handle.

For Stainless

Loosen the set screw on the

Attach handle to fresh food door on fastener and slide downward to lock in place with the screws at the top of the handle.

3. Remove the fastener from the surface of the refrigerator door, and cover the new vacant hole with the plug from the opposite side.

For Stainless Steel handle:

Attach handle to fresh food door with screws at the top of the

REHANG THE

REFRIGERATOR DOOR

1. Lower the refrigerator door onto the bottom hinge pin.

REHANG THE FREEZER

DOOR

/RZHUWKHIUHH]HUGRRURQWRWKHFHQWHUKLQJH pin.

2. While holding the door securely, align the socket in the door with the hole in the center hinge. Attach the center hinge and gasket

ZLWKWZRVFUHZVZLWKDƎVRFNHWDQG ratchet.

3. Check to ensure the alignment between the socket in the door and the hole in the center

KLQJH,QVHUWWKHKLQJHSLQLQWRWKHFHQWHU hinge and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver until the shoulder of the hinge pin is touching the center hinge.

2. Place the left top hinge so the pin fits into the door socket. (Left top hinge and cover can be found inside of the product. Call GE

800.561.3344 if parts are missing.) Support the door on the handle side and make sure the door is straight and the gap between the doors is even across the front. While holding the door in place, tighten the top hinge

Tighten them until they are just snug, and then turn them another one-half turn.

3. Snap the left top hinge cover over the hinge.

Normal Operating Sounds

Newer refrigerators sound different from older refrigerators. Modern refrigerators have more features and use newer technology.

Do you hear what I hear? These sounds are normal.

HUMMM...

WHOOSH...

Ŷ The new high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating.

Ŷ You may hear a whooshing sound when the doors

Ŷ You may hear the fans spinning at high speeds.

This happens when the refrigerator is first plugged in, when the doors are opened frequently or when a large

Ŷ You may hear cracking or popping sounds when the refrigerator is first plugged in. This happens as the refrigerator cools to the correct temperature.

Ŷ The compressor may cause a clicking or chirping sound when attempting to restart (this could take up to 5 minutes).

Ŷ Expansion and contraction of cooling coils during and after defrost can cause a cracking or popping sound.

Ŷ 2QPRGHOVZLWKDQLFHPDNHUDIWHUDQLFHPDNLQJF\FOH you may hear the ice cubes dropping into the ice bucket.

Ŷ 2QPRGHOVZLWKDGLVSHQVHUGXULQJZDWHUGLVSHQVH\RX may hear the water lines move at initial dispense and after dispenser button is released.

Ŷ Water dropping on the defrost heater can cause a

Ŷ A water dripping noise may occur during the defrost cycle as ice melts from the evaporator and flows into the drain pan.

Possible Causes

This is normal if, after popping open, the freezer door closed on its own.

Branchez l’appareil dans une prise triple avec terre.

Ne retirez pas la broche de terre.

N’utilisez pas d’adaptateur.

N’utilisez pas un cordon de rallonge.

Ne coupez pas ou n’enlevez pas, sous aucun prétexte, la troisième broche de mise à la terre du cordon d’alimentation. Pour des raisons de sécurité, cet appareil doit être correctement mis à la terre.

Le cordon d’alimentation de cet appareil est équipé d’une fiche à trois broches (pour une mise à la terre) qui s’adapte à la prise de courant standard à 3 broches (pour une mise à la terre) pour minimiser les risques de chocs électriques par cet appareil.

Une alimentation électrique à 115 volts CA, 60 Hz, avec un fusible de 15 ou 20 ampères et une mise à la terre est nécessaire. Ceci permet d’obtenir un meilleur rendement et

Réglage des commandes

Au début, réglez la commande du réfrigérateur à la valeur recommandée. Laissez la température se stabiliser pendant 24 heures.

Les clayettes du compartiment réfrigération et du compartiment congélation sont réglables.

COMPARTIMENT RÉFRIGÉRATION

Clayettes pleine largeur

La clayette repose sur un support latéral moulé et se verrouille dans une butée sur la paroi arrière de chaque côté.

Enlèvement :

1. Soulevez la clayette jusque dans le haut la butée.

2. Glissez la clayette vers l’avant le long de la butée.

3. Tirez la clayette hors de l’appareil.

COMPARTIMENT CONGÉLATION

Pour enlever :

1. Soulevez les deux côtés de la clayette et glissez-la à gauche dans le centre des supports.

2. Faites tourner le côté droit de la clayette vers le haut et faites-le sortir des soutiens de clayette.

Remise en place :

Inversez les étapes d’enlèvement ci-dessus.

ATTENTION

Ne nettoyez pas les clayettes ou couvercles en verre avec de l’eau chaude lorsqu’ils sont froids. Les clayettes et couvercles en verre peuvent se briser s’ils sont exposés à une variation de température soudaine, ou soumis à un impact s’ils sont heurtés ou échappés. S’il se brise, le verre trempé est conçu pour se fracturer en un grand nombre de petits éclats.

Ne lavez aucune pièce en plastique du réfrigérateur au lavevaisselle.

Pour remettre en place :

1. En maintenant la clayette en diagonale, insérez son extrémité gauche dans le haut des supports sur la paroi latérale.

2. Insérez l’extrémité droite de la clayette dans les soutiens de la clayette sur la paroi de côté. Faites reposer chaque extrémité de la clayette en bas des soutiens de clayette.

Bacs à légumes et à casse-croûte

Bacs à fruits et légumes

Vous devez bien essuyer toute eau en excès qui peut s’accumuler au fond des bacs ou en dessous des bacs.

Bac à casse-croûte

Vous pouvez mettre ce bac à l’endroit qui convient le mieux aux besoins de votre famille.

Pour enlever, faites glisser le bac vers l’extérieur jusqu’à sa position d’arrêt, soulevez le bac pour lui faire dépasser sa position d’arrêt, puis enlevez-le.

Bac à légumes à humidité réglable

Glissez la commande tout le long jusqu’au réglage

Vegetables (Légumes) afin d’obtenir le degré d’humidité élevé recommandé pour la plupart des légumes.

Si la porte n’offre pas assez d’espace libre, vous devez rouler le réfrigérateur vers l’avant jusqu’à ce que la porte s’ouvre suffisamment pour vous permettre d’enlever les tiroirs. Parfois, pour faire sortir le réfrigérateur, vous devez le faire aller vers la gauche ou vers la droite en le roulant.
