Preface
This guide provides information and instructions on the proper installation of a 5500 Series Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch. Please consult any documentation included with the switch and the product release notes
(see
"Related publications" (page 12)
on page 16) for any errata before beginning the installation procedure.
To successfully accomplish the installation procedures outlined in this document, the following tools or equipment are required:
• #2 Phillips screwdriver
• An AC power cord that meets the requirements of the appropriate, local electrical codes. See
"Connecting AC power" (page 32)
for more information on this topic.
• A console cable and connector to match the male DTE connector
(DB-9) on the switch.
