Chapter 3 Basic Operations - Projecting

Projecting

Check the connections of the peripheral devices ( Æ page 36) and connection of the power cord ( x page 41) and switch on the power ( x page 42) to start the projector. Select the image and adjust the state of the image.

Selecting the input signal

Remote Control Control Panel

The input for projection can be switched. Method to switch the input is as follows.

f Press the input selection buttons on the remote control and directly specify the input to project.

f Press the <INPUT> button on the control panel to display the input selection screen and select the input to project from the list.

When using the remote control

The input for projection can be switched directly by pressing the input selection button on the remote control.

1) Press the input selection (<COMPUTER 1>, <COMPUTER 2>, <HDMI 1/2>, <VIDEO>, <MEMORY

VIEWER/NETWORK>) buttons. f The <COMPUTER 2> button and <MEMORY VIEWER/NETWORK> button are only for PT-LW376,

PT-LW336, PT-LB426, PT-LB386 and PT-LB356, and are disabled for PT-LB306.

f The <HDMI 1/2> button only functions as HDMI input selection button for PT-LB306.

Switches the input to COMPUTER 1. The image of the signal input in the <COMPUTER 1 IN> terminal is projected.

Switches the input to COMPUTER 2. The image of the signal input in the <COMPUTER 2 IN/1 OUT> terminal is projected.

Switches the input to HDMI 1 or HDMI 2. Switches to the other input when one input has already been selected. The image of the signal input to the <HDMI 1 IN> terminal or the <HDMI 2 IN> terminal is projected.

Switches the input to VIDEO. The image of the signal input to the <VIDEO IN> terminal is projected.

Switches the input to MEMORY VIEWER or NETWORK. If one of the inputs has been selected, the input will switch each time you press the button.

*1 If the [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [COMPUTER2 SELECT] is set to [COMPUTER1 OUT], the COMPUTER2 input cannot be selected.

Attention f Images may not be projected properly depending on the external device, or the Blu-ray disc or DVD disc, to be played back. Set the

[PICTURE] menu → [RGB/YC

]. ( x page 62) f Confirm the aspect ratio of the projection screen and the image, and switch to an optimum aspect ratio from the [POSITION] menu →

[ASPECT]. ( x page 68)

Note f Configure the [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [COMPUTER1 INPUT SETTING] to match the signal to be input to the <COMPUTER 1 IN> terminal.

f If inputting signals to the <COMPUTER 2 IN/1 OUT> terminal, please set the [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [COMPUTER2 SELECT] to

[COMPUTER2 IN].

f If the MEMORY VIEWER input is selected, the still image stored in the USB memory can be projected using the Memory Viewer function.

For details, please refer to “Projecting with MEMORY VIEWER input” ( x page 95).

f If the NETWORK input is selected, the image from a computer (including iPad / iPhone / iPod touch and Android device) can be transferred via wireless LAN/wired LAN to the projector by using the Panasonic image transfer application software.

For details about the image transfer application software “Presenter Light” and “Wireless Projector”, refer to the website (https://panasonic.

net/cns/projector/).

f If one of COMPUTER 1 / COMPUTER 2 / HDMI 1 / HDMI 2 input is selected and no signal is input, the following screen is displayed. Check the output setting of your computer.

When using the control panel

The input for projection can be selected by displaying the input guide with the control panel.

1) Press the <INPUT> button on the control panel.

f The input guide is displayed.

2) Press the <INPUT> button or the asqw buttons to switch the input. f When the simple input guide is displayed, the input will switch each time you press the <INPUT> button.

f When the detailed input guide is displayed, press the asqw buttons to select the input. g For PT-LW376, PT-LW336, PT-LB426, PT-LB386 and PT-LB356

Note f You can switch the detailed/simple input guide by setting the [DISPLAY OPTION] menu → [ON-SCREEN DISPLAY] → [INPUT GUIDE]

( x page 71).

f When the [DISPLAY OPTION] menu → [ON-SCREEN DISPLAY] → [INPUT GUIDE] is set to [OFF], the input guide is not displayed.

How to adjust the state of the image

If the projected image or the position is not correct when the positioning of the projector and the screen is correctly installed, adjust the projection angle, focus and zoom.

1) Adjust the projection angle.

f Place the projector on a level surface and make its front side parallel to the screen surface so that the projection screen is rectangular.

f If the screen is tilted downward, extend the adjustable foot and adjust the projection screen so that the projected screen is rectangular.

For details, see “Adjusting adjustable foot” ( x page 48).

2) Adjust the zoom and the focus.

f Rotate the zoom ring to adjust the projected image size to fit the screen.

f Rotate the focus ring to adjust the focus of the projected image.

Note f It is recommended that the images are projected continuously for at least 30 minutes before the focus is adjusted.

f When the focus is adjusted, the projection screen size also changes slightly. Depending on the image projection situation, repeat Steps 1) and 2) to adjust to the best projection condition.

f Adjust from the [POSITION] menu → [SCREEN ADJUSTMENT] ( x page 64) when the projected image is distorted.

Adjusting adjustable foot

By pressing the adjustable foot lock with your finger, the adjustable foot lock is released and becomes free. It will be locked when you release the finger. Lift the front side of the projector while pressing the adjustable foot lock with your finger, and release your finger until the projection position is aligned.

For slight adjustment, rotate the adjustable foot.

Rotate the adjustable foot to extend it as shown in the figure, and rotate it in the opposite direction to contract it.

Attention f Heated air comes out of the exhaust vent while the lamp is lit. Do not touch the exhaust vent directly when you adjust the adjustable foot.

f Adjust from the [POSITION] menu → [SCREEN ADJUSTMENT] ( x page 64) when the projected image is distorted.
