Chapter 2   Getting Started — Removing/attaching the projection lens

Removing/attaching the projection lens

Removing and attaching methods of the projection lens are same for standard zoom lenses and optional lenses.

Move the lens position to the home position before replacing or removing the projection lens. ( x page 64)

Attention f Do not attach or remove the projection lens while the projector is installed to a ceiling or in a high location.

f Replace the projection lens after turning off the projector.

f Do not touch the electric contacts of the projection lens. Dust or dirt may cause poor contact.

f Do not touch the surface of the projection lens with your bare hands.

f Do not turn the gear of the projection lens by hand. Doing so may damage the motor.

f Before attaching the projection lens, remove the lens cover attached to the projection lens.

f Panasonic Connect Co., Ltd. takes no responsibility for any damage or malfunction of the product resulting from the use of projection lenses which are not manufactured by Panasonic Connect Co., Ltd. Always use the standard zoom lens supplied with the projector or the specified projection lens.

Note f For the adjustment procedure of the focus, zoom, and lens shift after attaching the projector lens, refer to “Adjusting the focus, zoom, and lens shift” ( x page 63).

Removing the projection lens

Remove the projection lens using the following procedure.

1) Slide the top slide cover. (Fig. 1) f Slide the top slide cover until you can pinch the lens lock lever.

2) While holding the projection lens, pinch the lens lock lever and turn to the UNLOCK side. (Fig. 2)

3) Take out the projection lens straight. (Fig. 2)

Attention f

Store the removed projection lens where it will be free from vibration and impact.

Attaching the projection lens

Attach the projection lens using the following procedure.

1) Slide the top slide cover. (Fig. 1) f Slide the top slide cover until you can pinch the lens lock lever.

2) Confirm that the lens lock lever is positioned at the UNLOCK side. (Fig. 2) f If the lens lock lever is at the LOCK side (Fig. 3), pinch the lens lock lever and turn to the UNLOCK side.

3) Align the mark (red dot) on the projection lens with the mark (red dot) on the projector, and insert the projection lens all the way in. (Fig. 2) f

When the mark (red dot) on the projection lens is aligned with the mark (red dot) on the projector, the projection lens guide groove is aligned with the guide of the projector.

4) While holding the projection lens, turn the lock lever fully to the LOCK side. (Fig. 3) f

Make sure to fully turn the lens lock lever. f

The lock lever is split when the projection lens is locked.

5) Attach the top slide cover. (Fig. 4) f

Align the top slide cover with the top slide cover attachment line, and attach it by sliding.

Attention f

When installing the projector to a ceiling or in a high location, install the projector after attaching the projection lens to the projector.

After replacing the projection lens, turn on the projector and confirm the [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [LENS] → [LENS TYPE] setting.

Change the setting if the type does not match the projection lens attached to the projector. ( x
