Using the data cloning function

Operate the data cloning function. The setting and adjustment values of one projector can be copied to multiple projectors via LAN.

Data that cannot be copied

Following settings can not be copied. Set these in each projector.

Note f The data cloning function will not operate when the models of the projectors are different. For example, data of PT-MZ880 can be copied to other PT-MZ880 projectors, but it can not be copied to PT-MZ780. Data cloning is limited to the same model.

Copying the data to other projector via LAN

Make the following settings on the projector as the data copy destination in advance. For details, refer to "Setting

[WRITE PROTECT]". ( x page 166) f The [PROJECTOR SETUP] menu → [DATA CLONING] → [WRITE PROTECT] → [OFF]

Note f To use the network function with the projector, it is necessary to set the password of the administrator account. ( x page 140)

When a password is not set for the administrator account (when blank), the network function of the projector cannot be used. To copy the data via LAN, set the passwords for the copy source projector and the copy destination projector.

1) Connect all projectors to the switching hub using LAN cables. ( x

page 148)

2) Turn on all the projectors.

3) On the copy source projector, press as to select [DATA CLONING].

4) Press the <ENTER> button.

f The [SECURITY PASSWORD] screen is displayed.

5) Enter a security password and press the <ENTER> button.

f The [DATA CLONING] screen is displayed.

6) Press as

to select [SELECT PROJECTOR].

7) Press the <ENTER> button.

f The projector in the same subnet is displayed as a list.

8) Press as

to select the copy destination projector.

9) Press the <ENTER> button.

f

To select multiple projectors, repeat Steps 8) to 9) .

10) Press the <DEFAULT> button on the remote control.

f The confirmation screen is displayed.

11) Press qw to select [OK], and press the <ENTER> button.

f Copy of the data between the projectors is started.

Once the copy is completed, the cloning result is displayed as a list in the [DATA CLONING] screen.

Meanings of the marks displayed in the list are as follows.

g

Green: Data copy has succeeded.

g Red: Data copy has failed. Confirm the connection of the LAN cable and power status of the copy destination projector.

f Data is copied to the copy destination projector in the standby mode.

If the copy destination projector is in the projection mode, the data cloning request message is displayed, and then the copy destination projector automatically shifts to the standby mode to start copy of data.

12) Turn on the power of the copy destination projector.

f The copied content is reflected on the copy destination projector.

Note f

The security password is the password set in the [SECURITY] menu → [SECURITY PASSWORD CHANGE].

Initial password as the factory default: awsqawsq f

While data is being copied, the light source indicator <LIGHT>, the temperature indicator <TEMP>, and the filter indicator <FILTER> of the destination projector will blink. Make sure that the indicators stop blinking before powering on the projector.

Setting [WRITE PROTECT]

Set if the copy of data using the data cloning function is permitted or not.

1) On the copy destination projector, press as

to select [DATA CLONING].

2) Press the <ENTER> button.

f The [SECURITY PASSWORD] screen is displayed.

3) Enter a security password and press the <ENTER> button.

f

The [DATA CLONING] screen is displayed.

4) Press as to select [WRITE PROTECT].

5) Press qw to switch the item.

f The items will switch each time you press the button.

[OFF]

[ON]

Permits operations of the data cloning function from another projector.

Does not permit the operations of the data cloning function from another projector.

f

Data copy will not be possible when [ON] is set. When it is not necessary to copy data of another projector, set to [ON] so that the data is not changed by mistake.

Note f The security password is the password set in the [SECURITY] menu → [SECURITY PASSWORD CHANGE].

Initial password as the factory default: awsqawsq
