Light source/temperature/filter indicators

When an indicator lights up

If a problem occurs inside the projector, the light source indicator <LIGHT>/temperature indicator <TEMP>/filter indicator <FILTER> will inform you by illuminating or blinking. Check the status of the indicators and take following measures.

Attention f When switching off the projector to deal with problems, make sure to follow the procedure in “Switching off the projector” ( x page 61).

Some of the elements of the light source are defective and the light output has decreased.

The light source does not light up, or the light source turns off while the projector is in use.

Turn the <MAIN POWER> switch to <OFF> ( x

page 61), and turn on the power again.

Solution

Note f If the light source indicator <LIGHT> continues to light or blink even after the measure is taken, set the <MAIN POWER> switch to <OFF>, and ask your dealer for repair.

The cooling fan has stopped.

Is the intake/exhaust vent blocked?

f

Is the room temperature high?

f Remove any objects that are blocking the intake/exhaust vent.

f Install the projector in a location with the operating environment temperature between 0 °C (32 °F) and 45 °C (113 °F).

f

Do not use the projector at high altitudes of 2 700 m (8 858') or higher above sea level.

― f Turn the <MAIN POWER> switch to

<OFF> ( x page 61), and consult your dealer.

Note f

If the temperature indicator <TEMP> is still lit or blinking after taking the measures, ask your dealer for repair.

Filter indicator <FILTER>

The filter is clogged.

The ambient or internal temperature is abnormally high.

f Is the air filter unit dirty?

Clean or replace the air filter unit.

Remove any objects that are blocking the intake/exhaust vent.

Blinking red

Air filter unit is not attached.

f Is the air filter unit attached?

f Attach the air filter unit.

Note f

If the filter indicator <FILTER> is still lit or blinking after taking the measures, ask your dealer for repair.

f

If the air filter unit is not attached when the projector is turned on, the filter indicator <FILTER> will blink red.
