RIGHT HANDLEBAR CONTROLS

Engine Stop Switch

1 throttle grip. When the switch is in the

(RUN) position, the engine will operate.

When the switch is in the (OFF) position, the engine will not operate. This switch is intended primarily as a safety or emergency switch and should normally remain in the (RUN) position.

Starter Button

The starter button ( ) is below the engine stop switch ( ).

When the starter button is pressed, the starter motor cranks the engine. If the engine stop switch is in the (OFF) position, the starter motor will not operate.

See page 42 for the starting procedure.

LEFT HANDLEBAR CONTROLS

The headlight switch ( ) has two positions; and OFF marked by a dot under the

OFF(dot):

: Headlight, taillight and meter lights on.

Headlight, taillight and meter lights off.

Push the dimmer switch to select high beam or to low beam.

(HI) to

(LO) to select

Move to (L) to signal a lef t turn,

(R) to signal a right turn. Press to turn signal off.

STEERING LOCK

To lock the steering, turn the handlebars all

1 to LOCK while pushing in. Remove the key.

Do not turn the key to LOCK while riding the motorcycle; loss of vehicle control will result.

SIDE COVER

The right side cover must be removed for battery and fuse maintenance.

The left side cover must be removed for air cleaner maintenance

Installation can be done in the reverse order of removal.
