Certification Report: 0362a | Preliminary Remarks
Under the BSIG
Act, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has the task of issuing certificates for information technology products.
Certification of a product is carried out on the instigation of the vendor or a distributor, hereinafter called the sponsor.
A part of the procedure is the technical examination (evaluation) of the product according to the security criteria published by the BSI or generally recognised security criteria.
The evaluation is normally carried out by an evaluation facility recognised by the
BSI or by BSI itself.
The result of the certification procedure is the present Certification Report. This report contains among others the certificate (summarised assessment) and the detailed Certification Results.
The Certification Results contain the technical description of the security functionality of the certified product, the details of the evaluation (strength and weaknesses) and instructions for the user.
