Cleaning the air ilter unit
Remove the air ilter unit beforehand according to the previously described procedure in “Removing the air ilter unit”.
Fig. 1 Fig. 2
1) Wash the air filter unit. (Fig. 1)
i)
Soak the air filter unit in cold or warm water and then lightly rinse it.
f
Do not use cleaning tools such as brushes.
f
When rinsing, hold the frame of the air ilter unit without putting strong pressure on the ilter.
ii) Rinse the air filter unit two to three times using fresh water each time.
f
Insuficient rinsing may result in odors.
2) Dry the air filter unit. (Fig. 2)
f
Let the air ilter unit naturally dry off in a well-ventilated place where there is little dust and is not exposed to direct sunlight.
f
Do not dry using drying devices such as dryers.
f
After the air ilter unit is dried, proceed to “Attaching the air ilter unit” (x page 132).
Attaching the air ilter unit
1) Attach the air filter unit to the projector.
f
Perform Step 2) in “Removing the air ilter unit” in the reverse order.
f
Push in the air ilter unit securely until it clicks into place.
2) Attach the air filter cover.
f
Perform Step 1) in “Removing the air ilter unit” in the reverse order to close the air ilter cover, and push in the air ilter cover securely until it clicks into place.
f
Use a Phillips screwdriver to irmly tighten the air ilter cover ixing screw (x1).
Attention
f
After washing the air ilter unit, dry it thoroughly before attaching it back to the projector. Attaching a wet unit will cause an electric shock or malfunction.
f
Do not disassemble the air ilter unit.
f
Make sure that the air ilter unit is properly attached before using the projector. If it is not attached, the projector will suck in dirt and dust causing a malfunction.
Note
f
If you use the projector without attaching the air ilter unit, the ilter indicator <FILTER> lashes in red and the message appears on the projected image for approximately 30 seconds.
f
Replace the air ilter unit with the new optional Replacement Filter Unit (Model No.: ET-RFE300) if it is damaged or if the dirt does not come off even after washing.
f
Air ilter replacement is recommended after cleaning the unit two times.
f The dust-proof properties may be reduced after each cleaning.

When to replace the lamp unit
The lamp unit is a consumable component. Since its brightness gradually decreases over time, it is necessary to replace the lamp unit regularly. The estimated duration before replacement is 3 000 hours, but the lamp may go off before reaching to 3 000 hours, depending on the characteristics of the individual lamp, usage conditions, and the installation environment. It is recommended that the Replacement Lamp
Unit be prepared earlier.
If you continue to use the lamp unit after 3 000 hours has elapsed, the lamp turns off automatically after approximately 10 minutes, as it may cause malfunction of the projector.
