AMS AS3668 is a 4-channel LED driver designed to produce lighting effects for portable devices. A highly efficient charge pump enables LED driving over full Li-Ion battery voltage range. The device is equipped with an internal program memory, which allows control of LED patterns even without processor control. This helps the whole system to save power and extend for example battery life time in every mobile application. The AS3668 maintains excellent efficiency over a wide operating range by automatically selecting the best charge pump gain based on the LED forward voltage requirements and the device input voltage.

Frequently Answers and Questions
What is the main purpose of the AS3668?
The AS3668 is a 4-channel LED driver designed to produce lighting effects for portable devices, such as mobile phones, MP3 players, and digital cameras. It is designed to be highly efficient and power-saving, enabling long battery life for mobile applications.
How does the AS3668 control LED patterns?
The AS3668 has an internal program memory that allows control of LED patterns even without processor control. This helps save power and extend battery life in mobile applications. It also supports special digital filter modes that can synchronize LED lighting with an audio signal, making music literally visible.
What is the difference between the 1:1 and 1:2 modes of the charge pump?
The 1:1 mode is a direct bypass where the battery input and output are connected directly to the output current. The 1:2 mode steps up the output voltage to up to twice the battery voltage. The device automatically selects the best mode based on the LED forward voltage requirements and the device input voltage, optimizing efficiency.
