What types of data can be extracted from mobile devices?
You can extract data such as phone and address book data, media files, call logs, SMS and MMS messages, calendar, and file system data stored in the memory of a mobile device.
How can I connect the mobile device to the system for the purpose of examination?
Before you connect a device, you need to locate the correct cable that is designed for your device and install the manufacturer’s device driver. Once you have done this you can connect the device to the system using the appropriate cable.
How do I extract data from a mobile device?
Once MPE+ has successfully connected to a device, data can be extracted for review. You need to properly connect the device, select the type of data you want to extract from the connected device, and then click Extract.
What is the purpose of the AD1 image?
The AD1 image is an AccessData-proprietary image format that allows you to export data from mobile devices. You can then import the AD1 image into MPE+ to review data at a later time.
How can I import an AD1 image?
To import an existing AD1 image, select Tasks > Import AD1 in MPE+, browse to the folder containing the AD1 file to import, select the file, and then click Open.
