Frequently Answers and Questions

What is the minimum chassis requirement for the crane?
The vehicle must meet minimum chassis requirements. However, these requirements do not guarantee unit stability.
How do I operate the outriggers?
For hydraulic outriggers, shift the crane/outrigger control valve to the ‘outrigger’ position and operate the outrigger control valves to position the outriggers. After they are positioned, return the crane/outrigger selector to the ‘crane’ position. For manual outriggers, pull the lock pins to release the jackleg or drop down outrigger and move to the outermost lock position. Make sure the lock pins are reinstalled properly. Lower the outrigger pad to firm ground and adjust the foot to take out slack.
What is the minimum clearance between the crane or the load being handled and energized power lines?
For lines rated 50 kV or below, minimum clearance between the lines and any part of the crane or load (including handling appendages) shall be 10-ft. (3m). For higher voltages, a greater clearance is required.
