Press the Vehicle Boost Push button. Once the Vehicle Boost LED Indicator stops flashing and lights green steadily, the unit is ready to start your car. Turn the ignition and crank the engine in 5-6 second bursts until the engine starts.

What happens if the fuse in the DC plug is open?

If the fuse in the DC plug is open, you will need to replace it. To replace the fuse, remove the gold cap and washer by turning counterclockwise and lifting off. Then, remove the center pin and spring and remove the fuse. Replace the fuse with a same type and size fuse (8 amp). Then, replace the center pin and spring inside the plug and replace the gold cap and washer by turning clockwise onto the plug.

What happens if the unit alarms continuously during recharging?

If the unit alarms continuously during recharging, it means the 12 Volt accessory outlet door on the unit is open. To fix this, simply close the door.

What should I do if the unit doesn’t recharge or boost properly?

First, check the fuses in the DC plug and make sure they are not open. Next, try to connect the unit to a different 120 volt AC wall receptacle. If the problem persists, contact Black & Decker’s customer service for assistance.
