How do I start the engine?

Mix petrol with oil, fill the petrol tank, set the blower/vacuum mode change-over lever to the up position, fully press and release the primer bulb 10 times, place the choke lever in Position A, move the throttle control to the fast position, pull the starter rope briskly 5 times, then move the choke lever to Position B and pull the rope 1-3 times.

What kind of oil should I use?

Use a 40:1 petrol/oil ratio. The manual recommends using Bolens 2-cycle oil, but if unavailable, use a good 2-cycle oil designed for air-cooled engines.

What should I do if the engine does not start?

Repeat steps 3 through 8 of the starting instructions. If the engine floods, place the choke lever in Position C, move the throttle control to the fast position, and pull the starter rope briskly.

How do I stop the unit?

Move the throttle control to the idle position and let the engine cool for 10-15 seconds. Then, press the On/Off Stop control down in the STOP position.
