Frequently Answers and Questions
How do I measure AC voltage?
Set the function switch to 600VAC, insert the black lead into the COM jack, the red lead into the V jack, touch the black probe to the neutral side, and the red probe to the hot side. Read the voltage; switch to 200V range if <200V for better resolution.
How do I measure DC current?
Insert the black lead into COM. For up to 200mA, set to 200mA and red into mA; for up to 10A, set to 10A and red into 10A. Remove power, open the circuit, connect probes, apply power, and read the current.
How do I test a diode?
Set the function switch to diode, insert black into COM, red into VΩ. Touch probes to the diode: forward test shows ~0.4-0.5V, reverse shows "1." (open).
What does the low battery indicator mean?
The "BAT" icon appears when the battery voltage is low; replace the 9V battery.
How do I measure temperature?
Set to °F or °C, insert the temperature probe into COM and Temp jacks, touch the probe to the part, and read the display once stable.
