How do I assemble the cleaner?

The cleaner comes in three sections: upper handle, lower handle, and cleaner base. Follow the instructions in the manual to attach the handles and attach the cloth bag to the cleaner.

The cleaner has four positions: Low, Normal, High, and Shag. Select the proper position by tilting the cleaner forward and adjusting the lever until it "clicks" into place.

How do I replace the brushes?

Disconnect the cleaner from the electrical outlet, remove the bottom plate, belt, and agitator, turn the end plates of the agitator in opposite directions to loosen, continue turning until one end comes off, pry out the end section, gently tap the end of the shaft with a hammer, pull the shaft and end assembly from the agitator, remove the brushes, slide in new brushes, replace the shaft and end assembly, and screw the end plate on.
