Frequently Answers and Questions
What should I do if the camera refuses to record video and the rear LED is solid red instead of blinking?
This often indicates an incompatible SD card. Try using firmware v1.17 or above, a different card, or formatting the existing card.
What if the camera is not recognized by my PC as a removable disk or as a Webcam?
Ensure you are using a standard, non-defective USB cable, not a USB hub, and try different USB ports. The operating system must be XP or greater. If problems persist, try connecting the camera before turning on the PC or use DriveCleanup.exe to fix USB corruption.
Why does the camera not charge, or automatically start recording when external power is connected, even if Power On - Auto Record is set correctly?
External USB power likely exceeds ~5.25V. Hardware revisions from September 2014 (board stamped 2014-08-19 or later) include over-voltage protection up to 24V, preventing start or charge if voltage is too high. Earlier designs would be destroyed.
What do flashing yellow/red LEDs (15 then 32 very fast flashes) followed by camera off suggest?
This indicates no SD card is inserted, the card is full, not formatted correctly, or the card contacts are dirty. Format the card or use another card.
The camera turns on, but Mode and Shutter buttons don't react, and it's not recognized as a removable drive. What's wrong?
The lens module ribbon cable is likely not connected properly or the lens module is damaged. This can also cause the red LED to blink 3 times before the camera turns off.
