Below you will find brief information for RD5000 WL, RD5000 WLT. The RD5000 WL locator and RD5000 WLT transmitter are used to locate buried pipes and cables. The locator can be used in guidance mode or signal strength mode, and provides information on the depth and current of the target line. The transmitter can be connected directly to the pipe or cable, or can be used in induction mode to induce a signal to the target line. With the aid of the compass, the locator can be positioned in line with the target line enabling both depth and current readings to be displayed. The locator is designed so that it does not require regular calibration. It is recommended that the locator is serviced at least once a year.

Frequently Answers and Questions

What are the main operating modes of the RD5000 WL locator?
The RD5000 WL locator has two main operating modes: Guidance Mode and Signal Strength Mode. Guidance Mode provides visual and audio cues to guide the user towards the target line, while Signal Strength Mode displays numerical signal strength readings.
How does the RD5000 WLT transmitter apply a signal to the target line?
The RD5000 WLT transmitter can apply a signal to the target line using direct connection, induction, or a transmitter signal clamp. Direct connection involves connecting the transmitter output directly to the pipe or cable, while induction involves placing the transmitter near the target line. The transmitter signal clamp is a specialized accessory that can be used to induce a signal onto the target line when direct connection or induction methods are not feasible.
What is eCAL™ and how is it used with the RD5000 locator?
eCAL™ is a software-based tool that allows users to validate the original factory calibration of the RD5000 locator without the need to return the unit to a service center. eCAL™ provides confidence that the locator continues to meet its original factory calibration standards.
