Frequently Answers and Questions
How do I wind the bobbin?
Place a spool of thread on the spool pin, and secure it with the spool pin cap. Pull the thread out from the spool and place it through thread guides as shown in illustration. Put end of thread through the hole in bobbin as shown. Push bobbin winder shaft to far left position, if it is not already there. Place bobbin onto shaft with end of thread coming from top of bobbin. Push bobbin winder shaft to the right until it clicks. Hold onto end of thread. Start machine. Bobbin will automatically stop turning when completely filled. Push shaft to the left to remove bobbin and cut thread.
How do I thread the bobbin thread?
Raise the needle to its highest position by rotating the hand wheel toward you. Remove the bobbin cover plate by pushing the release button to the right. Bobbin cover will pop up sufficiently to allow you to remove the cover. Insert the bobbin making sure the bobbin rotates counterclockwise when you pull the thread. Pull thread through the slot (A) and then to the left. With a finger held gently on top of the bobbin, pull the thread until it stops in the slot (B). Then pull the thread along the groove on the needle plate until it is snipped with cutter on the top left. Replace the bobbin cover plate onto the needle plate.
How do I thread the top thread?
Raise the needle to its highest position by rotating the hand wheel toward you. Pull the thread from the spool, hold the thread with one hand and place the thread through the thread guide above the spool pin. Then bring the thread down and guide the thread through the thread guides from right to left until the thread reaches the needle clamp screw. Insert the needle through the eye and follow the thread down to the thread take-up lever and guide it through the right thread guide. Pull the needle down to the needle clamp screw to check that the thread is correctly threaded. If the thread is not correctly threaded, then repeat the threading steps. Turn the hand wheel towards you slowly to make sure that the needle thread is correctly threaded.
