Sony AIR-RM10 employs S-AIR, a Sony-developed technology that transmits uncompressed digital audio signals over the 2.4 GHz ISM band, a frequency range shared by wireless LAN and Bluetooth applications. Thus, interference or poor transmission may result from simultaneous use with those systems. Sony AIR-RM10 features a large, informative display that shows track names and other essential information sent from the S-AIR main unit. It also includes a battery status indicator that blinks when the battery level is low and turns on when the batteries are empty, prompting you to replace them. The remote is powered by four LR6 (size AA) batteries, which provide approximately five months of operation under normal use. However, avoid mixing old and new batteries or different battery types. If you anticipate extended periods of non-use, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and corrosion. For pairing with an S-AIR main unit, ensure that both devices share the same S-AIR ID. Refer to the S-AIR main unit's operating instructions for setting its S-AIR ID. Once paired, the connection is established, and "S-AIR" appears on the display. The main unit's model name and "LINKED" will also be briefly displayed. The Sony AIR-RM10 is compatible with MULTI SOURCE mode, allowing you to select and listen to multiple audio sources transmitted from the S-AIR main unit to various S-AIR sub units. Note that turning on the S-AIR main unit using the AIR-RM10's power button is not possible; use the main unit's dedicated button or infrared remote (if supplied). Furthermore, the Sony AIR-RM10 is equipped with tactile dots to aid in identifying one of the S-AIR sub units. These tactile dots are conveniently located beside the play operation buttons and PRESET +/- buttons.
