The VM1000C has three modes of operation: Normal, Fueling, and Setup. The Normal mode is used for monitoring engine parameters, the Fueling mode is used for adding fuel to the fuel computer, and the Setup mode is used for configuring the system.
How do I calibrate the fuel level system?
To calibrate the fuel level system, you will need to first select the FUEL LEVEL SYSTEM CALIBRATION menu item on the VM1000C. Then, you will need to enter the values for the maximum fuel capacity, the minimum fuel level, and the number of fuel tanks. Once you have entered the values, you will need to press the ENTER button to save the calibration.
How do I download flight data from the VM1000C?
You can download flight data from the VM1000C using a USB flash drive or a serial cable connected to a PC. To download using a USB flash drive, insert the drive into the VM1000C USB connector. The VM1000C will change the display to show all gauges blanked out, MAN digital area displaying 74.0, and RPM digital area displaying NEW. Press and hold button 2 to switch to ALL flights mode and then press and hold button 3 to start download. The RPM will count up as the flight data recorder system is written to the flash drive. After data download completes, the VM1000C will restart. Do not remove the USB flash media until the VM1000C restart is complete (gauges are displayed). To download using a serial cable, insert the JPI serial download cable into the serial download connector, start EzTrends, click Download and Archive Data, and then click Dump New or Dump All to begin data download.
