Volvo On Call, a supplementary service comprising safety, security, and comfort features, offers continuous functionality for 3 days after the remote key is removed from the car, and then once per hour for the next 11 days. The system includes a built-in GSM module for communication with its services and operates in areas with GSM coverage from Volvo On Call partners. Comfort services include a mobile application for iOS, Windows Phone, and Android devices, allowing users to locate their car, remotely lock and start the heater, view fuel level information, and access a driving journal. Remote heater starting via text message is also possible for cars with a fuel-driven engine block heater and passenger compartment heater, using an ordinary mobile phone. Volvo On Call also provides safety and security services. In the event of an accident, the system automatically sends a signal to Volvo Customer Service with the car's position and service request. The SOS button is reserved for emergencies such as accidents, illness, or external threats to the car and its occupants. The ON CALL button can be used for other services, including roadside assistance. Security services include automatic and manual alarm signals to Volvo Customer Service in case of a burglary or theft, unauthorized movement monitoring, and remote door unlocking and vehicle immobilization. Access to VOC functions is available through the VOC and VOC app, enabling remote control and monitoring of the car's status, alarms, and various features.
