- Questo apparecchio è stato progettato e costruito per venire utilizzato come sistema di altoparlanti con amplificatore nel contesto tipico di un sistema di amplificazione sonora e/o di un sistema di registrazione sonora.

L'utilizzo per scopi diversi da questi non è contemplato dal costruttore, ed avviene pertanto sotto la diretta responsabilità dell'utilizzatore/installatore.

• Installare questo apparecchio prevedendo ampio spazio circostante per un'abbondante circolazione d'aria, necessaria al raffreddamento.

Non ostruire le aperture o le prese d'aria presenti sull'apparecchio.

• In caso di sostituzione del fusibile esterno, utilizzare esclusivamente un fusibile di caratteristiche identiche, come riportato sull'apparecchio.

• Prima di effettuare qualsiasi operazione di collegamento, assicurarsi che l'interruttore di accensione dell'apparecchio sia in posizione 'Off'.

Non tentare mai di appendere il prodotto con mezzi non espressamente forniti o approvati dal costruttore (corde, catene, funi o qualsivoglia altro mezzo, attraverso maniglie, bulloni, ganci etc.). Nel caso il prodotto sia dotato già dalla fabbrica di specifici accessori, verificare sempre, prima dell'installazione, che il sistema di sollevamento e/o di sospensione che intendete utilizzare sia di portata idonea al peso del prodotto.

MT160A

Presentazione

MT160A non è solamente un monitor amplificato controllato da processore; è un sistema integrato ad alte prestazioni.

Progetto e costruzione soddisfano uno standard qualitativo sconosciuto ai prodotti di questa categoria, con risultati di affidabilità, versatilità e prestazioni musicali ai massimi

livelli.

Il mixer incorporato, a tre ingressi, permette di miscelare tra loro un segnale microfonico e due segnali linea, ed è dotato di un controllo di equalizzazione che aumenta la portata massima del sistema per farvi sentire chiaramente anche dagli spettatori più lontani. Dispone inoltre di una uscita per potere inviare il segnale ad un registratore, ad un altro MT160A, ad un mixer.

L’amplificatore incorporato è un’unità a MosFet di classe AB, di elevata potenza (80 W continui, 150 W di picco) e grande musicalità.

Il processore ottimizza il funzionamento del sistema e protegge l’altoparlante da sovraccarichi.

L’altoparlante da 6"1/2, con cestello in pressofusio-

ne e membrana a doppio cono è

stato progettato e realizzato su nostre specifiche. E' in grado di

coprire una gamma straordinaria-

mente estesa mantenendosi lineare

anche a frequenze estreme per garan-

tirvi un suono fedele, definito, accurato.

La cassa ha il profilo esagonale per facilitare l’utilizzo della MT160A come monitor da pavimento, sul rack delle tastiere o sulla superficie di lavoro dello studio di registrazione casalingo ed è dotata di inserti filettati standard per semplificare il fissaggio a supporti ed aste, sia negli impianti mobili, sia nelle installazioni fisse.

Il condotto d’accordo a bassissima

turbolenza, oltre a conferire alla cassa un

aspetto particolarmente gradevole, consente di migliorare la definizione del suono alle basse frequenze.

Si consiglia di regolare questo comando nella posizione

“0 dB” quando la MT160A viene collegata ad un mixer, direttamente o attraverso il crossover elettronico di un subwoofer

(vedi pagine 18 e 19).

5 Indicatore LED di picco. È di grande aiuto per avere un'idea del livello di uscita: • se non lampeggia mai significa che si è ancora al di sotto dei limiti in potenza del sistema; • quando lampeggia sporadicamente indica che le condizioni di impiego sono vicine ai limiti massimi di potenza del sistema. Restano comunque sempre l'orecchio e la sensibilità del musicista i giudici migliori della qualità del segnale.

6 Controllo equalizzazione. Permette di variare la curva di risposta ed ottenere così una resa ottimale in funzione delle diverse esigenze di impiego.

Questo significa che potrete ottimizzare il comportamento dell'MT160A per una sala conferenze, per il monitoraggio nell'ambito di un complesso musi cale o per altre utilizzazioni.

Controllo 'EQ'

Il filtro EQ ha una curva studiata apposta per aumentare la proiezione del suono.

Gli esempi illustrati di seguito potranno esservi utili per comprendere meglio la funzione di questo comando.

Ovviamente ciascuno, partendo da queste regolazioni base, può utilizzare tutte le posizioni intermedie secondo le proprie preferenze.

Importante !

Cura e manutenzione del prodotto: Collegamento alla rete:

• Posizionare la cassa lontano da fonti di calore

(caloriferi o qualsiasi altro oggetto che produca calore).

• Accertarsi che la tensione di alimentazione corrisponda a quella indicata sul pannello (sotto al cavo di alimentazione).

• Evitare di esporre la cassa alla irradiazione solare diretta, ad eccessive vibrazioni e ad urti violenti.

• Collegare il cavo di alimentazione ad una presa di corrente dotata di contatto di terra di sicura efficienza.

• Evitare l'uso e il deposito in ambienti polverosi o umidi.

• Evitare l'uso vicino a fonti di interferenze elettromagnetiche (monitor video, cavi elettrici di alta potenza) ciò potrebbe compromettere la qualità audio.

Collegamento agli INGRESSI e all’USCITA.

• Proteggere l'apparecchio dal rovesciamento accidentale di liquidi o sostanze di qualsiasi tipo. In particolare nelle condizioni di utilizzo tipiche, prestare la massima attenzione alla collocazione dell'apparecchio onde evitare che il pubblico, i musicisti, i tecnici o chicchessia possa poggiare bicchieri, tazze, contenitori di cibo o di bevande, posacenere o sigarette accese sull'apparecchio.

• Utilizzare sempre e solo cavi SCHERMATI (cavi di segnale) di adeguata sezione e di buona qualità.

• Prima di effettuare i collegamenti tra casse attive e mixer accertarsi che tutti gli apparecchi siano spenti.

In tal modo si eviteranno fastidiosi rumori e picchi di segnale talvolta pericolosi per le casse stesse.

• Non togliere la griglia di protezione dalla cassa.

• Per rimuovere la polvere usate un pennello o un soffio d'aria, non usate mai detergenti, solventi o alcool.

Collegamento in parallelo di più sistemi.

• Abbiate cura dei cavi di collegamento, avvolgeteli evitando nodi e torsioni.

• Non forzate i connettori ed i comandi.

• Accertarsi che l'interruttore di rete sia in posizione

'0' (spento) prima di effettuare qualsiasi collegamento.

- This product has been designed and manufactured to be operated as an active speaker system in the typical applications of a sound reinforcement system or of a sound recording system. Operation for purposes other than these is not provided for by the manufacturer and is therefore to be undertaken at the end user's and/or installer's sole risk and responsability.

TO AVOID THE RISK OF FIRE AND/OR ELECTRIC SHOCK:

• Never expose this product to rain or moisture, never use it in proximity of water or in high humidity conditions. Never let any liquid, as well as any object, penetrate the product. Should this be the case, immediately disconnect it from the mains supply and refer to qualified servicing before operating it again.

• Before connecting this product to the mains supply, always make sure that the voltage on the mains outlet corresponds to that stated on the product.

• This product must be connected only to a grounded mains outlet complying with the safety regulations in force via the supplied power cable. Should the power cable need replacing, use exclusively a cable of the same type and characteristics.

Introduction

The MT 160A high performance monitor system is an active, processor controlled loudspeaker incorporating a 3-input mixer.

Design and construction comply to quality standards not found before in this class of products, resulting in maximum reliability, top-level performance and flexibility.

The built-in mixer accepts two line-level and one mic-level signals and is equipped with an equalization control which allows allows to shape the projection of sound to provide optimum coverage even in a narrow, long venue so that even the farest audience will get your message loud and clear. A line output is also provided to feed another MT160A, a tape recorder, or a mixer.

The built-in amplifier is a class AB

MosFet unit designed to deliver both high power (80 W continuous,

150 W peak) and sonic accuracy.

The processor optimizes the working performance of the system and protects the loudspeaker from overloads.

The cabinet has an hexagonal cross section that give you 45

°

of freedom in placing it on a floor surface, on your desk-top or on a keyboard rack. It is fitted with standard threaded inserts for easy fixing to brackets and stands when used in mobile systems or fixed installations.

The 6"1/2 wide range loudspeaker, with diecast frame and double cone diaphragm, was developed and built to our specifications. It covers a very extended frequency while providing an extraordinarily flat and coherent response.

Excellent definition and maximum sound accuracy are guaranteed.

Set it to the “0 dB” position when the MT160A is connected to a mixer output directly or through the electronic crossover of an active subwoofer (see pages 18 e 19).

5 Peak LED indicator. It is of great help to get an idea of the output level: • if it never blinks, this means that the working condition is still below the power limits of the system. • occasional blinking of this LED indicates that the working condition is near to the maximum level, (yet the musician's ear still continues to be the best judge of the signal quality).

6 Equalization control. The EQ control allows to change the response curve of the system depending on the requirements of each different application. This enables optimizing the MT160A's working condition for each specific requirement whether it is used for example in a conference hall, on stage for monitoring or in other situations.

The EQ filter has a calibrated curve that improves the projection of sound. The examples below will be of help to understand the EQ control function.

Keeping as a reference the above illustrated basic examples, you may set the EQ control in any other intermediate position according to your requirements.

Important !

Product care and maintenance:

• Never expose the enclosure to heat sources such as radiators or other products that produce heat.

• Never expose the enclosure to direct sunlight, excessive vibrations or mechanical shocks.

• Avoid operating and storing the enclosure in dump or dusty places: this may lead to malfunctions, premature degrading of specifications.

Power supply connection:

• Make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the rear panel, under the mains power cable.

• Always connect the power cable to a grounded outlet.

• Avoid using the enclosure close to strong sources of electromagnetic interferences (e.g. video monitors, high power electrical cabling). This may lead to degradation of audio quality.

Input (mic, line 1, line 2) and Output signal connection.

• Always make sure to use only heavy gauge, high quality SHIELDED cables (signal cables).

• Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquid are not spilled into the enclosure. In public event don't let people, musicians, technicians or anyone put glasses, cups, ashtrays or cigarettes on the enclosure.

• Use a soft brush or a jet of air to clean the enclosure.

Do not use alcohol, solvents or detergents.

• Always make certain that the mixer or the instrument and the powered enclosures are switched off before connecting them. This will avoid annoying noises and signal peaks, which can also be dangerous for the enclosures themselves.

• Always leave the protective grille mounted on the enclosure.

• Take care of your connector cables. Make sure that they are not damaged, knotted or twisted.

• Do not force connectors and controls.

Parallel connection of two or more MT160A systems:

• Make sure the mains power switch is off ('0') before starting any connection.

Use Jack unbalanced extension cables.

Connect the first MT160’s output (MIXED LINE OUT) to a line input (LINE 1 or LINE 2) of the second MT160A, the second’s output to a line inout of the third, and so on.
