１．BE SURE TO OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING

●The SEIKO Diver's Watch is specially designed for scuba diving, featuring an excellent water resistant quality.

WARNING

●The watch is designed for use scuba diving using heavy breathing apparatus. It can withstand water pressure up to a depth of 200 m. Never use the watch, however, in saturation diving using helium gas.

●While diving, never operate the watch in any other manner than set forth in the instruction manual.depth of 200m. Never use the watch, however, in saturation diving using helium gas.

●As diver's watch is so designed and fabricated as to fully perform its functions. You can be confident in your watch.

●To enjoy long service life, you are requested to carefully read this instruction booklet and use your watch property.

It is absolutely essential that you observe strictly all instructions for time use and maintenance of the watch set forth in this manual.

11．電池交換時期のめやす

第１回目の電池交換時期のめやすは、時計

の裏ぶたに右の図のように刻印がしてあり

ますのでそのマークの位置を参考にして電

池交換してください。

２回目以降の電池交換時期も、電池交換の

際にSEIKO（セイコー㈱）にて、右図のよ

うにマークを刻印してお知らせします。

上の図は、電池交換時期が2007年１月∼６月である

ことを示しています。

14. REMARKS ON REPLACEMENT PARTS

・SEIKO makes it policy to usually keep a stock of spare parts for its watches for 7 years. In principle, your watch can be reconditioned within this period it used normally. (Replacement parts are those which are essential to maintaining the functional integrity of the watch.)

・The numbet of years that a watch is considered repairable may vary greatly depending on the conditions under which it was used, and normal accuracy may not be achieved in some cases.

We recommend, therefore, that you consult the retailer from whom the watch was purchased when having them repair your watch.

・The case, dial, hands, glass and bracelet, or parts thereof may be replaced with substitutes if the originals are not available.

この項目では、ダイビングの前、中、後での注意事項を記述してあります。それぞれの注意事項

を守り、より安全なダイビングを心がけてください。

11. STANDARD OF TIME OF BATTERY REPLACEMENT

As for the standard of the time of first battery replacement; please find the stamp on the reverse side cover of the watch and refer to the position of the mark, shown in the right drawing.

The time of the second battery replacement and afterwards is informed by SEIKO (SEIKO

CORPORATION) at the time of battery replacement by marking the stamp as right drawing.

The following drawing indicates that the time of battery replacement is between

January and June 2007.

and normally, it is not necessary to correct the calendar data after battery change. If the watch is left untouched for a long time with a dead battery, however, the energy of the auxiliary power supply may also be depleted. It is recommended, therefore, that the battery be replaced with a new one as soon as you find the second hand moving at two-second intervals.

② For battery replacement, be sure to have the battery replaced with a new one by the retailer from whom the watch is purchased. When requesting the battery replacement, please specify the genuine SEIKO SB battery.

③ If the old battery is left in the watch for a long time, a malfunction may be caused due to battery leakage, etc. Have it replaced with a new one as soon as possible.

④ Battery replacement will be made at cost even within the guarantee period.

この時計は、内部にカレンダー（うるう年からの年数、月、日付）を記憶しており、月末の日

付（うるう年を含め、小の月の日付）修正を自動的に行い、お客様がその度に修正される必要が

無いようになっています。ご使用になる前に、現在時刻に合わせてからご使用ください。

「５−２．時刻・日付の合わせかた」の項をご参照ください。

＊ If the watch is left in low temperatures for a long time, the performance of the battery deteriorates temporarily. As a result, the second hand starts moving at two-second intervals and the date will not change even when the battery has energy to power the watch.

When the watch returns to the normal temperature range between 5｡C and 35｡C, the second hand resumes the normal one-second interval movement and the date adjusts itself within one day as the battery recovers the normal performance.

If the two-second interval movement persists and the date will not change in the normal temperature range, the battery nears its end, and replace it with a new one as soon as possible.

(4) Battery replacement

For safety's sake, the diver's watch will also undergo a strict check at the time of battery replacement.

Your request of battery replacement is received at the retailer from whom the watch was purchased, but it will be sent to a SEIKO SERVICE CENTER to perform the replacement work. In addition to battery replacement, water resistant quality of the watch will be checked. The gasket will be replaced with a new one if necessary.

Therefore, it will take approximately 10 days before the watch is returned to you, and the checking may be made at cost.

① The perpetual calendar controls the date display on the basis of the calendar data recorded in a built-in IC.

When the battery runs down, the calendar data is retained by the auxiliary power supply,

12. TROUBLESHOOTING

Phenomenon

The watch stops operating.

The watch gains or loses time temporarily.

Possible cause

The battery runs down.

It was left in extremely high or low temperature.

The watch was brought into close contact with a magnetic object.

The second hand moves at two-second intervals.

Correct date is not displayed.

The glass is blurred and the blur persists for a long time.

The rotating bezel does not turn smoothly.

You dropped the watch, hit it against a hard surface or wore it while playing active sports. The watch was exposed to strong vibrations.

The battery nears its end.

The crown was turned to change the date.


The calendar was not adjusted after the battery was replaced with a new one.

The gasket is deteriorated, and a small amount of moisture got in the watch.

Sand or dust gathers under the bezel.

Solution

Have the watch replaced with a new one immediately by the retailer from whom the watch was purchased.

This condition will be corrected when the watch temperature returns to normal. Set the time again. The watch is so designed that it works with stable accuracy when worn on your wrist at a normal temperature range between 5℃ and 35℃.

This condition will be corrected when the watch is kept away from close contact with the magnetic source. Set the time again. If the condition is not corrected, contact the retailer from whom the watch was purchased.

10. REMARKS ON THE BATTERY

WARNING

1. Do not remove the battery from the watch.

2. If it is necessary to take out the battery, keep it out of the reach of children.

3. If the child swallows it, consult a doctor immediately as it will adversely affect the health of the child.

CAUTION

1. Never short-circuit, tamper with or heat the battery, or never expose it to fire as it may explode, generate and intense heat or catch fire.

2. The battery in your watch is not rechargeable. Never attempt to recharge it, as this may cause battery leakage or damage to the battery.

3. If the watch is left in a temperature below 5℃ or above 35℃ for a long time, the battery leakage may result, causing the battery life to be shortened.

● How to use the diver adjuster

① Lift up the flap approximately 90°until it stands upright. Do not extend the Diver Adjuster at this step.

② Lightly push back the flap further approximately 20.°When doing so,take care not to push the flap forcibly as more force is required to do sothan to lift up the flap.

③ Pull the bracelet on the 6 o'clock side of the watch to extend the Diver Adjuster. Before doing this, be sure to carry out Step (2). Otherwise, the bracelet length cannot be extended.

④ While pressing the lock button,

⑤ lift up the clasp to release the buckle, and put on the watch on your wrist. Close the clasp first and then, the flap.

⑥ Hold the bracelet on both the 6 and 12 o'clock sides of the watch with fingers to reduce the length of the Diver Adjuster until it fits well around your wrist.

５−２．時刻・日付の合わせかた〈8F35の場合〉

●通常は、工場出荷時点でカレンダー（うるう年からの年数・月・日付）が正しく設定され

ていますので、お客様はカレンダー（うるう年からの年数・月・日付）を改めて設定され

る必要はありませんが、万一、日付が正しく表示されない場合は、「５−５．カレンダー

（うるう年からの年数・月・日付）の確認のしかた」をご参照の上、カレンダーを確認し

てください。

●日付は、時刻に連動しており、時計の運針状態、リュウズ操作による時刻合わせ状態のど

ちらでも24時間に１度切り替わります。日にちをまたいで時刻を進めると日付も進み、時

刻を戻すと日付も戻ります。

・時計の運針状態では、午前０時前後（午後11時45分∼午前０時30分の間）で日付が切り

替わります。

・リュウズ操作による時刻合わせで、時刻を進める場合と戻す場合では日付の切り替わり時

刻が異なりますが、午後９時から翌日午前３時の間で切り替わります。その後、通常運針

では、通常の午前０時前後（午後11時45分∼午前０時30分の間）で日付が切り替わります。

【午後９時から翌日午前３時の間で時刻合わせをする場合】

・午前０時をはさんで、午後９時から翌日の午前３時の間で時刻を合わせるときは、時刻を

いったん午後９時より前に戻して（あるいは午前３時より先に進めて）、その日付が正し

３．Slide the upper cover of the

Diver Extender in the direction of the arrow, and then, pull it up to extend the two-piece foldover portion of the Diver Extender to the full.

１． Lift up the flap, and then, press the button to open the clasp. After opening the clasp, push the flap back to the normal position for safety's sake.

２．Open the two-piece foldover portion of the

Diver Extender in the direction of the arrow.

Some force is required to open the foldover portion, and it will click when it is opened.

４．Close the clasp, and then, the flap.

When wearing your watch over a wet suit, extend the Diver Extender. To hold up the Diver Extender, reverse the procedure above. When the two-piece folder portion of the Diver Extender is folded up completely, it also clicks in the same manner as it is opened.

1. Notes on the battery

(1) Battery life

When a new normal battery is installed, the watch will operate for approximately 8 years.

＊ If the watch is used in the following conditions, however, the battery life may be less than the specified period.

1. When the crown is left at the first or second click for a long time

2. When the calendar is checked frequently

3. When the watch is left in a temperature below +5｡C or above +35｡C for a long time

The battery in your watch is inserted at the factory to check the function and performance of the watch, and its actual life may be less than the specified period.

(3) Battery life indicator function

When the second hand starts moving at two-second intervals, the watch may run down in about two weeks. In that case, please take your watch to a retailer from whom the watch was purchased as soon as possible to replace the battery with a new one.

＊ The time accuracy is not affected even if the second hand is moving at two-second intervals. The date will not change while this happens, but this is not a malfunction.

この時計の24時針の使いかたには、２つのタイプがあります。そのタイプによって時刻の合

わせかたが異なりますので、どんな使いかたにするか選択してから時刻合わせをしてくださ

い。

〈タイプ１〉24時針を単なる24時針（午前・午後が読める）として使用する場合。すなわち、24

時間針を通常生活している地域の時刻に合わせて使う場合。

・普通の使いかたがこのタイプになります。

・たとえば、24時針を日本時間に合わせておくと、海外旅行中に旅先の時刻を時針・分針で表

示しても、24時針で日本時間を見ることができ便利です。

この時の日本時間をホームタイムと呼ぶことがあり、以下の説明ではそう表現します。

〈タイプ２〉24時針に他の地域の時刻を表示させて使用する場合。

・住む場所とは異なる地域の時刻（時差のある時刻）に合わせておき、24時針と時分針とでデ

ュアルタイム表示として使用する場合にこのタイプを選びます。

・たとえば、24時針を世界標準時（GMT）に合わせ、時分針を日本時間に合わせると、いつ

でも24時針でGMTを確認できることになります。

【24時針を普通の24時針として合わせる方法】〈タイプ１での操作方法〉

①ネジロックモデルは、リュウズを左に回してネジロックをゆるめてください。

②リュウズを２段目まで引き出してください。

※秒針が止まりますので、秒針が０秒に来た時に引き出してください。

7. INTERCALARY SECOND (LEAP SECOND)

Normally there are 86,400 seconds in a day. Due to a slight change in the earth's rotation, an extra second may be added to one day during the year. This is called the intercalary second.

Every year the decision is made whether such an adjustment is needed. When the adjustment takes place, the standard time should be corrected by delaying the standard time one second. To keep your SEIKO watch accurate with the world standard time, adjust your watch to a time signal whenever such adjustment is made.

According to the information from the observations all over the world, the standard time is delayed one second simultaneously throughout the world by the Greenwich Royal Observatory.

In the Greenwich Mean Time, an extra second will be added to the one minute between 11:59

P.M. and 0:00 A.M. either on December 31st or on June 30th. In the Japan Time, due to the time differential an extra second will be added to the one minute between 8:59 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. on

January 1st or July 1st.

However, the adjustment may not be made in some years.

Please, check by a newspaper, etc. whether such an adjustment will be made or not.

CAUTION

・If your watch is of the lob or pendant type, the strap or chain attached to the watch may damage your clothes, or injure the hand, neck, or other parts of your body.

●PLACES TO KEEP YOUR WATCH

・If the watch is left at temperature below -10℃ or above +50℃ for a long time it may function improperly or stop operating.

・Do not leave the watch in a place where it is subjected to strong magnetism or static electricity.

・Do not leave the watch where there are strong vibrations.

・Do not leave the watch in a dusty place.

・Do not expose the watch to gases or chemicals.

(Ex: Organic solvents such as benzine and thinner, gasoline, nail polish, cosmetic spray, detergent, aonesives, mercury and iodine anmseptic solution.

・Do not leave the watch in a hot spring, and do not keep it in a drawer having insecticides inside.

●PERIODIC CHECK

・We suggest that you have your watch checked by SEIKO DEALER every 2 or 3 years or when the battery is replaced, to insure proper oiling and to guard against electrolyte leakage or damage due to water or sweat. After checking the watch, adjustment and repair may be required.

・When replacing the parts or battery, please specify "SEIKO GENUINE PARTS". If an old battery is kept in the watch for a long time, electrolyte leakage from the battery may damage

Your watch can be warn while bathing if it is equipped with water resistance over 10 bar.

・Please do not operate your watch (Crown operation, Button operation etc.) when it is wet with soap or shampoo. It sometimes causes on the water proofing.

・When the watch gets warm due to warm water, the watch could gain or lose time to some degree. However, the watch will return to its usual accuracy at normal temperatures.

●PRECAUTIONS ON WEARING YOUR WATCH

Take utmost case in the following cases:

・When clasping and unclasping the band, you may damage your nail, finger depending on the type of clasp used with the band.

・In case you fall or bump others with the watch worn on your wrist, you may be injured by the reason of the fact that you wear the watch.

・When you make contact with children, especially with infants, they may get injured or develop a rush caused by allergy.

8. LUMIBRITE

LumiBrite is a luminous paint that is completely harmless to human beings and natural environment, containing no noxious materials such as radioactive substance.

LumiBrite is a newly-developed luminous paint that absorbs the light energy of the sunlight and lighting apparatus in a short time and stores it to emit light in the dark.

For example, if exposed to a light of more than 500 lux for approximately 10 minutes, LumiBrite can emit light for 5 to 8 hours.

Please note, however, that, as LumiBrite emits the light it stores, the luminance level of the light decreases gradually over time. The duration of the emitted light may also differ slightly depending on such factors as the brightness of the place where the watch is exposed to light and the distance from the light source to the watch.

6. TO PRESEREVE THE QUALITY OF YOUR WATCH

●CARE OF YOUR WATCH

・After using the watch in seawater, for example in diving, rinse it in fresh water and wipe it thoroughly dry. Do not use chemicals to wash the watch.

・The case and bracelet touch the skin directly just as underwear. If they are left dirty, the edge of a sleeve may be stained with rust of those who have a delicate skin may have a rash.

・After removing the watch from your west, wipe perspiration or moisture with a soft cloth. This will prevent the watch from being soiled, adding to the life of the gasket.

・Please clean the rotating bezel regularly. Otherwise, dust will gather under it, making the rotation harder.

(SOFT PLASTIC BRACELET)

・The bracelet made of soft plastics dose not require special care. If it gets dirty, however, it may cause trouble to the skin. Rinse it with soapy water from time to time. Since it is a chemical product, it may deteriorate by the use of solvents. The band will become hardened or discolored after several years of use. In that case, replace it with a new one.

●RASH AND ALLERGY

・Adjust the bracelet or band so that there will be a little clearance between the bracelet or band and your wrist to avoid accumulation of perspiration.

・If you are constitutionally predisposed to rash, the band may cause you to develop a rash or

５−６．時差修正の使いかた〈8F58の場合〉

・海外旅行等で時差のある地域へ移動した場合、時計を止めることなく現地の時刻に合わせられ

ます。

・この修正は、日付けに連動していますので、時差の修正を行うと現地の日付けを表示させるこ

とができます。

●時差の求めかた

・時差修正の前に、修正する「時差」を正確に知っておくことが重要です。

・単に時計の表示を現地の時刻に合わせるだけでは、午前と午後および日付けが合わない場合も

あるので正しい時差を求める必要があります。

〈計算方法〉

Ａ地域にいる人がＢ地域へ移動したとすると、それぞれの地域のGMTからの時差の数値を使い

計算します。（「（４）都市と時差の比較表」参照）

・Ａ地域のGMTからの時差を〔ａ〕、Ｂ地域のGMTからの時差を〔ｂ〕とした場合、修正する

べき時差は、〔ｂ〕−〔ａ〕で求められます。

〈例〉日本からアメリカのニューヨークへ移動した場合、

Ａ地域日本（東京）のGMTからの時差〔ａ〕＝（＋９）

Ｂ地域ニューヨークの〃〃〔ｂ〕＝（−５）

5-5. How to Check the Calendar (the number of years since the last leap year and the current month and date)

・ The number of years since the last leap year and the current month and date can be checked by operating the crown.

・ After the calendar setting is over, you can check if no mistake is made.

＊ Note that, when the second hand is moving at two-second intervals, indicating that the battery nears its end, the calendar checking cannot be made.

● Pull out the crown to the first click, and push it back to the normal position within a second.

5-6. Time Difference Adjustment (8F58)

・ The hour hand can be adjusted independently of the other hands. When you travel abroad and move between different time zones, the time of the place you visit can be shown easily on the watch by turning the hour hand only.

・ The date changes correspondingly with the hour hand. If the time difference adjustment is made, therefore, it is automatically adjusted to show the date of the place you visit.

● How to determine the time difference between two cities

・ Before making the time difference adjustment, it is necessary to obtain the time difference between the two cities.

・ As the hour hand indicates the time on a 12-hour basis, AM/PM and the date of the place may not be adjusted properly even if the hour hand is turned to show the time of the place you visit.

Before setting the hand, therefore, be sure to find the time difference between the cities following the procedure below.

<How to calculate the time differences>

Assuming that you move from time zone "A" to time zone "B" and that the time difference from

GMT for the two zones are "a" and "b", respectively, time difference between them can be obtained from the following formula:[b] - [a].

Ex.) If you move from Japan to New York:

Time difference from GMT for Japan, time zone A : +9 (a)

Time difference from GMT for New York, time zone B : -5 (b)

Time difference between the two cities is:[b] - [a] = (-5) - (+9) = (-14) hours

Note: If the daylight saving time is in effect in an area, add one hour to the time difference from

GMT before calculation.

６．使用上のご注意とお手入れの方法

注意

日常のお手入れ

・ダイビングなど海水中での使用のあとは、真水で洗い、よくふいてください。

・ケースやバンドは肌着類と同様に直接肌に接しています。汚れたままにしておくとサビて

衣類の袖口を汚したり、かぶれの原因になることがありますので常に清潔にしてください。

・時計を外したときは、柔らかい布などで汗や水分をふきとるだけで汚れやケース、バ

ンド、及びパッキンの寿命が違ってきます。

・回転ベゼル下に汚れ等がたまり回転が重くなることがありますので、清潔にしてご使

用ください。

〈金属バンド〉

・金属バンドは、ときどき柔らかい歯ブラシなどを使い、部分洗いなどのお手入れをお

願いします。その際に、非防水の時計の場合には時計本体に水がかからないようにご

注意ください。

〈軟質プラスチックバンド〉

・ウレタンバンド等軟質プラスチックでできているバンドは、汚れがひどいときは石け

ん水で洗ってください。ただし、化学製品ですので溶剤によって変質することがあり

ます。通常数年のご使用で材質が硬化してきたり、色があせたりする場合があります

ので、その際は新しいバンドに交換してください。

⑦ After setting the hour hand, push the crown back in to the normal position. If the crown is of the screw lock type, turn it clockwise while pressing it to screw it in completely.

The time setting procedure for "Method 2" has been completed. To set the 24-hour hand to the time of another area in a different time zone, repeat the steps from (1). For the time differences among cities throughout the world, refer to "(5-7) TIME DIFFERENCES".

・かぶれやすい体質の人や体調によっては、皮膚にかゆみやかぶれをきたすことがあり

・かぶれの原因として考えられますのは、

１．金属・皮革に対するアレルギー

２．時計本体及びバンドに発生した錆、汚れ、付着した汗等です。

・万一肌などに異常を生じた場合は、直ちに使用を中止し、医師にご相談ください。

入浴について

10気圧以上の防水の場合、時計をつけたまま入浴してもかまいませんが下記のことに注意して下

さい。

・時計に、石けんやシャンプーがついた状態で、リュウズ操作やボタン操作を行わないでくださ

い。（防水機能が維持できなくなることがあります）

・温水で時計が温まりますと、多少の進み、遅れを生ずることがあります。ただし、常温にもど

れば精度はもとにもどります。

●その他、携帯上ご注意いただきたいこと

・バンドの着脱の際に中留めなどで爪を傷つける恐れがありますのでご注意ください。

※この時計は、気温５℃∼35℃において腕につけた時に安定した精度を得られるように調整してあります。

よって、温度によって多少の進み遅れが生ずることがありますが、常温にもどれば元の精度にもどります。

・磁気や静電気の影響があるところに放置しないでください。

・強い振動のあるところに放置しないでください。

・極端にホコリの多いところに放置しないでください。

・薬品の蒸気が発散しているところや薬品にふれるところに放置しないでください。

（薬品の例：ベンジン、シンナーなどの有機溶剤、およびそれらを含有するもの＝ガソリン、

マニキュア、化粧品などのスプレー液、クリーナー剤、トイレ用洗剤、接着剤など＝水銀、ヨ

④ After the date adjustment is completed, push the crown back in to the normal position, checking that the hour hand is set to the current hour. If the crown is of the screw lock type, turn it clockwise while pressing it to screw it in completely.

８．ルミブライトについて

［お買い上げの時計がルミブライトつきの場合］

「ルミブライト」は、放射能等の有害物質を全く含んでいない、環境・人に安全な蓄光（蓄えた

光を放出する）物質です。

ルミブライトは、太陽光や照明器具の明りを短時間（約10分間：500ルクス以上）で吸収して蓄

え、暗い中で長時間（約５∼８時間）光を放つ夜光です。

なお、蓄えた光を発光させていますので輝度（明るさ）は時間が経つに従ってだんだん弱まって

きます。また、光を蓄える際のまわりの明るさや時計との距離、光の吸収度合により、光を放つ

時間には多少の誤差が生じることがあります。特に暗い環境での潜水の際は、光が充分に吸収さ

れていないと水中で発光しない場合があります。最低でも上記条件の光をあてるか、水中ライト

を併用して潜水される様、十分ご注意ください。

Ａ．太陽光〔晴天〕100,000ルクス〔曇天〕10,000ルクス

① Unscrew the crown by turning it counterclockwise.

② Pull out the crown to the second click.

＊ When the second hand is at the 12 o'clock position, pull out the crown to the second click. The second hand will stop on the spot.

③ Turn the crown to set the hands to the desired time. If the indicated date is not correct, advance or turn back the hands until the correct date is shown, and then, set the time.

＊ When setting the hour hand, check that AM/PM is properly set. (The watch is so designed that the date changes once every 24 hours.)

＊ If AM/PM is set improperly, the date will change at noon.

[To set the time to the time between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.]

・When setting the time to the time between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. by turning back or advancing the hour hand past the 12 o'clock marker, hour hand to the current time of your area.

・For example, set the 24-hour hand to the Greenwich Mean Time and the hour hand to the current time of Japan. The Greenwich Mean Time can be checked as you desire.

5-2. How to Set the Time and Date (8F35)

● The calendar data, namely, the number of years since the last leap year and the current month and date, are pre-recorded at the factory, and it is not necessary to adjust the calendar. In case the calendar indication is not correct, check the calendar referring to "5-5.

How to Check the Calendar".

● The date changes correspondingly with the time. It changes once in 24 hours or can be changed manually by turning the hour hand two full circles. The date advances or returns by one day by advancing or turning back the hour hand past the 12 o'clock marker, respectively.

・The date changes between 11:45 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. while the watch is in operation.

・When the date is changed manually by turning the crown, it changes between 9:00 p.m. and

3:00 a.m. Once the desired date is set, however, the date changes properly between 11:45 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. while the watch is in operation.

5-3. How to Set the Time (Use of the 24-hour hand in two ways) (8F58)

The 24-hour hand can be used in two ways. When setting the time, follow either of the two procedures below according to the purpose of use.

<Method 1> To set the 24-hour hand to the current time of your area (The time is set on a 24hour basis):

・ This use is convenient when you travel abroad.

・ For example, if you live in Japan, set the 24-hour hand to the current time of Japan. When you travel abroad, the 24-hour hand shows the time of Japan, while the time of the place you visit can be shown by adjusting the hour hand each time you move to a different time zone.

<Method 2> To set the 24-hour hand to the time of an area in a different time zone:

７．うるう秒について

普通１日は標準時間で86,400秒ですが、86,401秒になることがあります。これは、地球の自転の

誤差による時刻のくるいを補正するもので、これを「うるう秒」と呼びます。「うるう秒」が実

施されますと、時計が標準時間に比較して１秒進みになりますので、時刻を修正してください。

「うるう秒」は、世界各国の天文台の観測情報にもとづき、英国のグリニッジ天文台を中心とし

て全世界いっせいに実施されます。グリニッジ標準時では、「12月31日」または「６月30日」の

午後11:59∼午前0:00が61秒間となります。

日本の場合、時差換算をすると、うるう秒がおこなわれる日は「１月１日」または「７月１日」

で、日本時間の午前8:59から午前9:00の60秒間が61秒間となりますが、おこなわれないこともあ

りますので新聞等でご確認ください。

電池について

（１）電池寿命

この時計は、新しい正常な電池を組み込んだ場合、その後約８年間作動します。

※この時計の電池寿命は、約８年となっております。

これは時計が正常な状態での使用と保管がされることを条件にしております。この条件以外では電

池寿命に満たないうちに電池寿命切れとなる場合がありますので、ご注意ください。

条件以外とは、１．リュウズ１段、および２段引きの状態での放置。

２．カレンダーを頻繁に確認した場合。

３．「常温（５℃∼35℃）からはずれた温度」下で長時間放置。

（２）最初の電池

お買い上げの時計にあらかじめ組み込まれている電池は、機能・性能をみるためのモニ

ター用電池です。お買い上げ後、上記の年数に満たないうちに電池寿命が切れることが

ありますのでご了承ください。

（３）電池寿命切れ予告機能

秒針が一度に２目盛送る（２秒運針）ようになりますと、約２週間で時計が止まる可能

4. FEATURES

This watch features a perpetual calendar that automatically adjusts for odd and even months including February of leap years up to February 28, 2100.

Cal. 8F58 is also equipped with a 24-hour hand which can show the time of a different area, and a time difference adjustment function that can easily indicate the time of the place you visit when you travel around different time zones.

・ Perpetual calendar function

"perpetual calendar" refers to the fully automatic calendar developed by SEIKO.

Identifying the number of days in each month including February of leap years, the calendar adjusts itself at the end of the month.

＊ The leap year refers to the year that has an extra day on February 29.

・ Time difference adjustment function

The hour hand can be adjusted in one hour increments independently of the other hands.

3. BEFORE USE

This watch stores in its built-in memory such calendar data as the number of years since the last leap year and the current month and date. Once set, therefore, the calendar automatically adjusts for odd and even months including February of leap years, eliminating the need of date setting at the end of each month.

Before using the watch, set the correct time, referring to "5-2. How to Set the Time and Date".

※電池容量が残っている場合でも、電池寿命が近づいて来ると低温状態に放置された場合など、一

時的に電池性能が劣化し、電池寿命切れ予告状態になることがあります。

この場合、２秒運針となり、日付は切り替わりませんが、常温（５∼35℃）に戻り、電池性能が

正常に戻れば、翌日には通常（一秒毎）の運針に戻り、日付も遅れ分を補正し正常に戻ります。常

温に戻っても２秒運針のままで、日付も送らない場合は、電池寿命切れが間近ですので、お早めに

電池交換をご依頼ください。

（４）電池交換

ダイバーズウオッチは潜水に使用されるため、電池交換にあたっては厳重なチェックが

必要です。

電池交換の受付はお買い上げ店でいたしますが、交換作業は全てセイコーサービスセン

ターでおこないます。

時計は、お買い上げ店からセイコーサービスセンターに送付され、電池交換と同時に防

水性、パッキン検査・交換などを実施いたしますので、10日前後のお預かり期間と、電

池交換費用の他に費用がかかることがございます。

①パーペチャルカレンダーは、内蔵の電子回路でカレンダーデータを記録し、現在が何

日であるかを判断し、日付表示をコントロールすることより動作しています。

電池が切れても、カレンダーデータは予備電源により保持されており、通常は、電池

交換してもカレンダーデータを修正する必要はありません。電池寿命切れのまま長時

間放置しますと、予備電源が消耗することがありますので、２秒運針中に電池交換を

することをおすすめします。

②電池交換は、必ずお買い上げ店で「セイコー純正SB電池」とご指定の上、ご用命く

ださい。

③電池寿命切れの電池をそのまま長時間放置しますと、漏液などで故障の原因になりま

すので、お早めに交換してください。

④電池交換は、保証期間内でも有料となります。

※電池交換をされたときは、カレンダーの確認をお願いします。

①Take care not hit the watch against hard objects such is rocks.

2-3 After diving

①After making a dive, be sure to rinse the watch in fresh water, and wash out all seawater, soil, sand, etc.

②While you are underwater, never unscrew the crown or pull it out.

②After cleaning the watch in fresh water, be sure to wipe it thoroughly dry to prevent possible rust on the case.

③The rotation of the rotating bezel may get slightly harder in the water but this is not a malfunction.

③If a grain of sand or the like sticks between the case and rotating bezel and cannot be washed our, take your watch to the watch retailer from whom it was purchased or an AUTHORIZED SEIKO DEALER.

④Be careful not to expose the watch to solvents such as alcohol and gasoline, as this will cause a malfunction.

⑤Please see "6. TO PRESERVE THE QUALITY OF

YOUR WATCH" for general maintenance.
