HOOFDSTUK 1 - INLEIDING
1.1. Algemeen

Controleer of:
• Alle LED’s kortstondig oplichten;
[4] gedurende 10 seconden tegelijk indrukken.
Display mile = 0 = kilometers/kilogram
1 = is miles / pounds
4.6. Installatie

1 parameter waarde terug.
Hi rate
: minimale hartslag grens
: maximale hartslag grens
Duration : de te lopen tijd
Start speed : begin snelheid van de oefening
Kilo of Pound : gewicht loper

5.3.4.
• Tijd
•. minimale hartslag; de letter L is zichtbaar (Low puls))
• Tijd

CHAPTER 1 - INTRODUCTION
1.1. General
We are very pleased that you have decided to purchase the EN-Mill treadmill.
This treadmill incorporates the latest technology. A great deal of care has been devoted to its reliability, accuracy, safety and durability.
The EN-Mill is a training unit and can be used in range from fitness- till rehabilitation purposes. It is no diagnostic machine. If you need to make a diagnosis, other equipment is required ( for example an
ECG unit, sphygmanometer, electrocardioscope and pulsimeter).
When exercising with persons with low cardiac condition, the presence of a qualified person (specialist or therapist) is required to interpret the given values and physical condition of the person.
Using the EN-Mill with heartbeat control can only be used for training purposes.
Please make sure that these operating instructions are always accessible to personnel who will be involved in the use of the treadmill.
The following symbols are used in this manual courier font is used for text that appears in the display or stands for mode’s
Bold is used to refer to menu options and names of keys
1.2. Design
This treadmill called EN-Mill, is of a modular design, enabling it to be supplied in four versions:
• EN-Mill Standard
• EN-Mill HV (with slope adjustment)
• EN-Mill Sport
• EN-Mill Sport Reha
1.3. Finally
You have made a wise choice in selecting the EN-
Mill. We are confident that your unit will continue to give satisfaction over many years of use. Nevertheless, if you have any queries or suggestions, please contact your authorised distributor.
CHAPTER 2 - SAFETY
2.1. Preliminary notes
It is important that you read these operating instructions carefully before using the EN-Mill. Please make sure that these instructions are available to all personnel who operate the EN-Mill.
Pay attention to the following before using the EN-
Mill:
1. Keep yourself informed of the contra-indications
(see chapter 3).
2. The apparatus may not be used in close proximity (e.g. less than 2 metres) to shortwave equipment.
3. Never leave the patient unattended during treatment.
4. The apparatus may not be used in so-called “wet rooms” (hydrotherapy rooms).
The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for the results of using this apparatus for any purposes other than described in these operating instructions.
2.2. Safety belt
The safety belt has to be worn during running on the machine. The EN-Mill will stop automatically as soon as belt contact is interrupted from the magnetic contact of the operating panel.

• Connect the mains cable to a grounded safety socket.
4.3. Switching on and self test
• Switch on the unit using the On/Off button. (figure 2)
• Immediately after switching on, the unit carries out a self test.
Check that:
• All LED’s light up briefly.
• At the end of the test a beep can be heard.
Contact your supplier if this is not the case.
4.4. Checking walking surface
Before daily use of the EN-Mill, the belt has to be inspected on wear. By use of different services, it is possible that the belt has to be aligned. See for alignment the chapter 6.2 (Alignment of the belt)
4.5. System adjustments (figure 3)
Changing units.
As the EN-Mill is delivered, all values are given in SIunits (metrical system). Switching units is realised from the stand-by situation by pressing:
• Press Manual training [1] and Stop [4] at the same time for a minimum of 10 seconds.
• By pressing Start [3] the next values are visible.
Total Hr = Total hours the EN-Mill has performed
Service = Total kilometres the EN-Mill has performed
Belt count = Total amount of kilometres the belt has performed
Hi speed = Maximum speed of the belt.
Duration = Maximum time during 1 training
(99 = infinitive)
Brightness = brightness of the display. Recommended is 4 or 5. because of the workload of the electronics
Display mile = 0 = kilometres/ kilogram
1 = miles/pounds
All values can be changed with [+] and [–] under [8]
4.6. Installation
• Do not install the unit in a location near to a heat source such as a radiator.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, rain, excessive dust, dampness, mechanical vibrations and shocks.
• Cordless telephones should not be used in close proximity of the unit.
• This unit should not be used in so-called “wetrooms” (hydrotherapy rooms).
• The unit has to be installed in such way that liquid cannot enter.
• A proper air circulation is imperative to prevent overheating, so do not leave clothing etc. on the motor compartment cover.
Should any liquid ingress into the housing of this equipment, unplug the unit from the wall socket (if connected) and have it checked by an authorised expert.
4.7. Moving and transport
The EN-Mill can not be transported or moved by pulling the sidebars or walking surface.
4.8. Electromagnetic interference
• Operation in close proximity (i.e. less than 2 metres) to working shortwave or microwave therapy units may produce instability in the EN-
Mill output.
• To prevent electromagnetic interference, we strongly advise using separate mains groups
(phases) for the EN-Mill and the shortwave or microwave equipment, and a distance of at least
2 metres is kept between the EN-Mill and the shortwave or microwave equipment.
• Ensure that the mains cable of the shortwave/microwave unit does not come near the Endomed or the patient.
If problems with electromagnetic interference persist, please contact your authorised distributor.
4.9. Connecting Peripherals
By coupling peripherals (computers, printers etc.) with the EN-Mill, the peripherals has become a part of a medical treatment system, so that the IEC 60601 security standard is applicable for the whole combination. The IEC 60601 security standard demands that the earth leakage current must not surpass the value of 0.5 mA when the protective earth conductor is interrupted. As the security demands for a “nonmedical” Personal Computer are far less strict (earth leakage current smaller than 3.5 mA), you have to take at least one of the following measures to let the combination meet the IEC 60601 requirements: or set the Personal Computer and monitor at a distance of at least 2 metres from the patient, so that the patient cannot touch it or by an IEC 60601 approved monitor. This monitor can be positioned close to the patient. However, the Personal Computer itself must be placed at a distance of at least 2 metres from the patient or have a registered electrician place an isolation transformer in the mains supply of the Personal
Computer and monitor.
Further, the monitor must be connected to the mains power supply by means of its own mains power cable. Under no circumstances is it allowed that the monitor is supplied by the Personal Computer.

1. Manual mode (each EN-Mill)
2. Cardio training (EN-Mill with heartbeat control)
3. Protocols with time and speed (each EN-Mill)
4. Protocols with time and pulse (EN-Mill with heartbeat control)
5. Quick start (each EN-Mill)
According to the chosen training type, the EN-Mill will interactively ask for input of certain parameters.
These parameters are shown on the display. By means of the + and – [2] button below the speed indicator [8], the values can be increased or decreased. If the parametervalue is correct, the value has to be confirmed by pressing Start [3]. Now an other parameter ( depending on trainingtype) will be shown or the EN-Mill will start after the last parameter ( kilo or pound ) is confirmed.
Correction of a previous parameter is possible by pressing Stop [4]. The display will show a previous parameter every time Stop is pressed untill the stand-by mode appears.
5.3.1.
Manual mode
(all models)
This mode can be started out of the stand-by situation by pressing Manual mode [1].
The only parameter which to be entered is kilo or pound (body weight of the person on the EN-Mill) to calculate the kilo calorie value.
After the weight is confirmed with Start [3] the EN-
Mill will start with a minimum speed and elevation of
0 %.
The testperson has to adjust the speed manually by pressing + and – below the speed indicator.
The elevationangle is adjusted by pressing the + and – below the % indicator.
After finishing a manual mode training, the amount of performed kilo calories can be seen on the display
5.3.2.
Cardio mode (EN-Mil with heartbeat unit)
This mode can be started from the stand-by situation by pressing the heart rate mode [1]
Then the next parameters have to be set.
Lo rate minimum heartrate limit
Hi rate
Duration maximum heartrate limit time to exercise
Start speed start speed of the exercise
Kilo or Pound Bodyweight of the testperson
After the weight of the person is confirmed with Start
[3], the EN-Mill will start
As warming-up the EN-Mill will hold the start speed for 1 minute. Then the speed will increase untill the set heart rate is been reached.
In the cardio mode the display shows the actual heartrate and the EN-Mill increases the speed untill the heartrate-zone is reached. This adjustment is controlled by the embedded software.
When during training the set heartrate is exceeded, the software will decrease the elevation angle and speeduntil the heartrate is decreased untill the set heartrate-zone is reached
If during training no heartrate is received, the indicator [12] shows no Hr As soon as the heartrate is received, it will be displayed again.
After finishing a training, it’s possible to read out the amount of performed kilo calories.
During a heartrate training, the software will keep the workload of the exercise equal. When the elevation angle is increased, the speed is lowered. As the angle is decreased, the speed will increase untill the set heartrate-zone is reached.

Protocol training with time and heartrate (EN-Mill with heartbeat unit)
It is possible to create 9 different programs with a maximum of 9 steps each. In this mode time and heartbeat have to be set.
This mode can be started from the stand by situation by pressing Protocols with time and heart rate
[1]. Then the desired program has to be choosen.
By pressing + and – [2] below the speed indicator
[8] the desired program can be searched. Confirm with Start [3].
Then a maximum of nine steps can be set in the choosen program. On the display [5] the left number is the choosen program, the right number is the program step. By pressing Protocol training with time
and heartbeat [1], the step to be adjusted can be reached. In every step time and desired heartrate can be set.
• The set value of the desired heartrate is the minimum heartrate limit. To receive a heart rate zone in which has to be trained, the software adds a value of 10 heartbeats on the minimum heart rate to receive a maximum heart rate. Now there is a heart rate zone in which the test person has to perform the training.
• By filling in a step with time = 00,00 the training will stop at this step. Confirm with the Start [3] button.
Then the startspeed has to be filled in. This is the speed at which the EN-Mill will start.
Warning:
Be carefull with choosing a startspeed. If this speed is too high, the EN-Mill could start at a speed of which the testperson is not capable and the heartrate could be too high after a very short time. In case of any doubt, always start with low speed.
The last parameter is the weight which has to be set.
By pressing + or – [2] below the speed indicator
[8], the desired value can be adjusted. Confirm with
Start [3]. Then the EN-Mill will start.
If during training no heartrate is received, the indicator [10] shows no Hr . As soon as the heartrate is received, it will be displayed again.
After finishing a training, it’s possible to read out the amount of performed kilo calories.
During execution of the program the display [7] will alternately indicate the values:
• Time
• Minimum heart rate: L (Low pulse)
• Time
• Maximum heart rate: H (High pulse)
After finishing the program, the display will show the amount of performed kilo calories.
Each protocol training can be stored untill 9 protocols per mode. These protocols can be changed on every moment.
A quick start of a protocol is made as described underneath:
• Choose type of training with one of the buttons
[1]. The display will show program with a number.
• With + and – [8] it’s possible to go to a next program number.
To go to another step in a program: push the “pro-
gram with time and heartrate-button”. Confirm with the Start button [4].
After entering start speed and weight, push Start again. The belt will start to rotate.
5.3.5.
Quick start
(all models)
The simplyest way to start the EN-Mill is this quick start mode. No parameters have to be filled in and the EN-Mill is able to start inmediately by pressing
Start [3]. This type of training does not show the amount of performed kilo calories.
5.3.6.
Heart rate
By means of the Polar belt (necessary for cardio training and training protocols with time and pulse) the actual heartrate can be seen on the actual heartrate display [10]. If no Polar belt is being worn, no heartrate is visible.
5.3.7.
Stopping a program
During training the EN-Mill can be stopped by pressing Stop [4]. When this button is pressed ones, the
EN-Mill will stop slowly and turn into pause situation. Pressing Stop again will turn the EN-Mill into the stand-by mode while the last parameters will be shown.
CHAPTER 6 - MAINTENANCE
6.1. Technical maintenance
We recommend to have the unit checked annually.
This may be done by your supplier, or by another agency, authorised by the manufacturer. It is also recommended that a record of the service history is kept for all activities relating to service and maintenance. In some countries this is even obligatory.
Maintenance and all repairs should only be carried out by an authorised agency. The manufacturer will not be held responsible for the results of maintenance or repairs by unauthorised persons.
The check up and/or technical maintenance must be carried out conform the procedure described in the service manual of the unit.
Opening of the equipment by unauthorised agencies is not allowed and will terminate any claim to warranty.
6.2. Alignment of the belt
If the treadmill has to be used on a floor that is not flat, the followi
1. Adjusting the speed of the mill to 5 km/h.
2. If the mill belt runs towards the left side, as viewed from the rear of the EN-Mill, adjust the left belt adjustment bolt at the rear end of the belt (using a 6mm socket head screw wrench) a quarter turn anti-clockwise. (see figure). The belt will now move slowly right.
If the mill belt runs towards the right side, as viewed from the rear of the EN-Mill, adjust the left belt adjustment bolt at the rear end of the belt
(using a 6mm socket head screw wrench) a quarter turn clockwise. (see figure 4 – adjustment of belt). The belt will now move slowly left.
ATTENTION!
The belt reacts very slowly to the turning of the tension bolt. Therefore let the treadmill run for 2 min.
If this adjustment is not enough, repeat the action mentioned under number 2 again.
ATTENTION!
ONLY use the left adjustment bolts since the other bolts will influence the belt tension. This could degrade the performance of the EN-Mill.
21
22

Figure 4 – adjustment of the belt
The figure 4 shows the direction the belt adjustment bolt should be turned in order to move the belt in the shown direction.
6.3. Maintenance (by the user)
Before cleaning and other maintenance of the treadmill, first switch the off the EN-Mill and disconnect it from the mains. The EN-Mill can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a liquid (non-abrasive) household cleaning product. The belt can be cleaned with a sponge, with little lukewarm water. Allow the belt to dry thoroughly after cleaning before re-using the treadmill.
6.4. End of life cycle
Your EN-Mill contains materials which can be recycled and/or are noxious for the environment. At the end of the duration of life, specialised concerns can take apart the EN-Mill and sort out the noxious materials and materials for recycling. By doing so you contribute to a better environment.
Please ensure that you are well informed of the local rules and regulations regarding to the removal of equipment and accessories.
CHAPTER 7 - TROUBLE SHOOTING
7.1. Display does not light up
• Check that the mains plug is correctly inserted in the wall socket.
• Check the mains supply to the wall socket.
• Check the fuses in the mains output and replace if necessary.
• Check the brightness adjustment of the LED display
7.2. Error code
The control panel has an internal diagnostic program to ensure correct functioning of the EN-Mill. There is however one error code that can occur during use.
This code is Err 32 which signifies that the EN-Mill has been switched off and on too rapidly. If this error code appears then the EN-Mill should be switched of for at least 45 seconds before switching it on again.
In order to prevent this code from appearing, it is suggested that the EN-Mill be left on during the opening times of the institute, hospital etc. Appearance of any other error code is an indication you should contact your dealer.

Interferenz auftreten, verständigen Sie bitte Ihren autorisierten Kundendienst.

Hierzu braucht man keine

Ou Placer le PC et le moniteur à minimum 2 mètres de distance du patient, de manière que ce dernier ne puisse les effleurer;
601. Ce moniteur peut être installé près du patient. Le PC même doit être placé à 2 mètres de distance du patient;

Stand-by.
5.3.1.

HI RATE
Limite pulsations minimale
Limite pulsations maximale
DURATION Temps a courir

Figure 4 – Réglage de la démarche du tapis.

1 = millas / libras
éste no puede tocarlos;
CEI 60601. Este monitor puede ser colocado cerca del paciente. El ordenador mismo tiene que colocarse, pues, a 2 metros de distancia del paciente;
