Overview
An all-in-one security solution, Acer ProShield Plus uses Windows
Hello biometric authentication technology and modules that provides an embedded security solution to address the following points of vulnerability:
• Securing the device against unauthorized access
• Protecting local storage
Acer ProShield Plus includes these modules that will secure your device from unauthorized access and intrusion.
Note
Your computer may not have all the modules mentioned below. Please refer to your computer’s specifications to confirm which modules are supported.
• File Encryption

• File Shredder
• Personal Secure Drive (PSD)
• Alert and Security Report
Setting up Acer ProShield Plus
The first time you run Acer ProShield Plus, you will be required to set up Windows Hello that allows you to set up the parameters for Acer
ProShield Plus.

Click Set Up Windows Hello to begin. In the Windows Hello settings, select your Sign-in options (Windows Hello Face, Windows Hello
Fingerprint, or Windows Hello PIN) and follow the onscreen directions.
Note
Select a password that you will remember, but is difficult to guess. Do not use words that can be found in a dictionary. It is advisable to use a combination of letters and numbers.
Once the configuration is complete, you can use either of the following authentications to access the Acer ProShield Plus and decrypt encrypted files.
• Face
• Fingerprint
• PIN

File Encryption / Decryption
Here you can select folders and files for encryption or decryption. You can protect your folders and fies from being modified, read, or even accessed without Windows Hello authentication.
File Shredder
Here you can select files to be completely removed from the hard disk. The File Shredder overwrites the data to make recovering the data impossible.
Warning
Make sure you select only the information you want to shred. Once you have shredded a file or folder, it is impossible to recover the data.

Personal Secure Drive
The Personal Secure Drive (PSD) is a secure section of your hard disk where you can store and hide important files. You can only get access to the PSD via Windows Hello authentication.
In the PSD window, select the edit button to open the Create a
Personal Secure Drive (PSD) page, then set the Location and
Capacity . Click Create to exit.
Click the toggle button to Open or Close the PSD.
Use the edit button to reset the Location and Capacity of the PSD.

Alert
Here you can set the alert for each module On or Off to record invalid access. This feature can also send email notification while events trigger alerts.
Security Report
Here you can find a record of intrusion detection reports. When a user tries to access secure data, and when authentication fails, the user is considered an intruder. The module detects an intruder by sending an email alert, capturing an intruder via the camera, and saving the record in the Security Report.
